Ren paused, staring at him. He could see the emotions running through his face. Ren gently tapped a hand over his head. "And why would you say that...?"
There was silence. Everyone stared at A'ri, who slowly said, "I... I didn't know you cared about me. You care about everyone else... because they're always active and have something to do. Everyone is always doing something that gets your attention... be it causing trouble or helping out, but..."
He bit his lower lip. "I'm just there. You don't pay any attention to me or whatsoever. So it makes me feel like maybe you didn't care about me much... So I didn't know you would come and save me... I was surprised when you saved me and even... destroyed the place..."
There was silence as Ren slowly bent down to meet A'ri with a warm smile. He understood the feeling of the kid.
