[Next day.]
"Quick! Pull him out from under the rubble!"
"I found another corpse!"
"This is the second hundredth corpse..."
The entire city of Tokyo watched the news with shock and fear etched on their faces. The sight of the destruction and the number of deaths filled them with fear for what was coming next.
Police cars and emergency vans were everywhere, transporting anyone who could be saved to the hospital in the hope of saving those who were injured.
Japan declared a country-wide emergency, thinking that another country had dropped missiles onto it, only to drop that assumption. After hours of investigating for any air activity for missiles, they found nothing.
The country declared this an earthquake, which Japan was famous for being hit by anyway, calming the people down from the threat of going to war.
They had no choice but to do that since they couldn't just go around pointing fingers at other countries, especially since the attack was weird, with many places sporting craters and even human footsteps deep in concrete.
And of course, no one was going to say that the destruction was caused by two humans fighting, that would make Japan look like a laughing stock to the rest of the world.
As the entire country watched the news with deep sadness, in another place, a depressing atmosphere lingered in a remote area of the Tokyo countryside, a place where people won't normally visit.
An ancient and formal compound was built in the middle of a forest, near Tokyo. It looked expensive, but old, with electronics built in, a modern Japanese mansion.
Inside the mansion, a conversation was currently going on between Satoru Gojo, Hakari Kinji, and Akira Shokotsu.
"So let me get this straight, you two started this fight because of a Pikachu toy?" Gojo asked with a sigh, holding back a giggle as he sat on the chair, his hands resting on the back of it.
"That Pikachu toy was important to someone important to me, and this moron decided to hit the claw machine, dropping the toy back!" Akira was not quite satisfied with how Gojo was making it look like it was not a big deal.
It was a big deal to him.
The reason he acted that way was that neither said anything; Yuka and Akira had both understood it was their first date, which was ruined shortly after Hakari decided to be a delinquent.
His anger overwhelmed his reasoning at that moment. His pride or genetics might have also influenced his actions, especially since Yuka was being pressured by Hakari.
No man wants another man speaking to a woman close to them in that way. Especially if that woman is someone you have romantic interest in.
"It's not that big of a deal, kid. How about I pay you back for the toy so you can go and buy another plushie for your girlfriend?" Hakari looked at Akira next to him with a raised eyebrow before offering a respectful grin.
Hakari is actually a chill guy with other chill people; it's just that when he met Akira and Yuka, the massive amount of cursed energy coming off them was enough to make him shiver, especially that Yuka girl.
Just standing near her felt as if a special grade spirit was constantly breathing down his neck, while standing next to Akira felt like being under constant watch.
Akira looked at Hakari next to him in silence, his arms crossed as the two locked eyes for a second. Glaring at Hakari, Akira looked away, extending a hand out.
"Since you're offering, give me some money right now."
"Here, make sure to buy a Pikachu toy~,"
"Hahaha! You don't seem troubled by the innocent people who were killed due to your fight?" Gojo laughed outloud before asking with a probing tone, curious as to how Akira would reply.
'Now, let's see your response and if you're suited to be a sorcerer.' Gojo thought with a grin, his Six Eyes glowing faintly under his bandages.
Gojo hoped it was something he liked, especially since the kid was so strong and gifted even without having a cursed technique or enough cursed energy to become a jujutsu sorcerer.
But having neither of those two was not something that seemed to bring trouble to Akira, so Gojo was not worried for the teenager in front of him.
"I don't seem troubled?" Akira looked at Gojo with raised eyebrows, while Hakari reached into his pocket, taking out a handful of cash before placing it in Akira's palm.
Akira quickly pocketed the money before turning back to Gojo, his answer coming to his mind instantly.
"Why would I care about them? Did I want to do that? No, but did it happen? Yes. They just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time."
"It's like asking a tornado if it is guilty for killing all these people," Akira shrugged his shoulders.
"Wow, you're a psychopath, aren't you, kid? But I dig it!" Hakari raised an eyebrow in surprise and a bit of judgment at Akira's response before shrugging his shoulders.
He could also not gather enough energy to be sad for them. He was a sorcerer after all, and all sorcerers are a bit crooked in the head, especially the stronger ones.
"Tch! Look who's talking, if I'm a psycho, then you're a maniac!" Akira snorted at Hakari before responding to him. He cast a look of judgment at Hakari, who looked away, ignoring him.
"Alright, enough bickering, you two. Let's get to the serious talking, especially with you, Akira," Gojo spoke up, interrupting the two as he reached behind him and took out an ID card.
"Akira Shokotsu, you are hereby declared a Jujutsu Sorcerer, graded as a grade 4, and no, you can't refuse, unless you wanna be executed for your crime of genocide."
Gojo chuckled as Akira gained an annoyed look on his face. Akira looked at the ground in a dilemma. The thought of being hunted down was not making him feel good...
It actually made him feel angry, because for some reason, his blood boiled when someone chose something for him when he didn't choose that thing himself.
Akira raised an eyebrow as he watched Gojo throw the card at him. He reached up, catching the card before examining it. It had his information on it, while on the back was a grade with a four printed next to it.
"A Jujutsu Sorcerer? What is that? Some kind of profession, including people with powers?" Akira tucked the card into his pocket while asking, shooting a look at Hakari as the memory of his powers resurfaced.
"Good question, what is a Jujutsu Sorcerer? Well, according to an old friend of mine, it's a profession where people with cursed energy exorcise cursed spirits to protect the weaker people who can't do it themselves," Gojo spoke, a lazy grin on his face along with a bit of nostalgia.
"Cursed Spirits? Are you acknowledging those things around us?" Akira looked to the right, where a small, cursed spirit with no power whatsoever was floating.
He still couldn't see it, of course.
"Yes, those things are called cursed spirits; they are born due to the collective negative energy from humans who cannot control their cursed energy."
"Cursed energy is also generated from negative emotions created by humans; it's what gives us our power, but we can actually control it, making us Sorcerers," Gojo explained, and Akira nodded. He figured it out since the energy had a negative feel to it.
Plus, he noticed that Nobara and Yuka gained a sudden surge of cursed energy when they felt negative emotions before.
"Gojo-sensei, why was I called here? If it's to watch and listen to you explain things I already know, then I'm leaving," Hakari stood up with an annoyed sigh, rubbing the back of his head.
"Oh, Hakari, the old geezers took this incident as the final straw, using it as an excuse to expel you from being a Jujutsu Sorcerer, so you're officially kicked out."
Gojo sighed as he spoke, a hint of anger in his tone along with killing intent seeping through.
He was not a fan of those geezers, but he couldn't do anything about it unless he gave up on his desire to create people who could stand shoulder to shoulder with him.
"About damn time, I always knew they were Jealous of my technique, they should just go and stick a traditional stick up their asses~," Hakari was not bothered by the news at all; instead, he grinned as he left the room.
Being a jujutsu sorcerer was not productive for him anyway, especially since he wanted to create a fighting club where sorcerers fought for non-sorcerer entertainment.
Those five old geezers would roll on the ground in anger if they knew what he wanted to do. But not like they could do anything to him unless Gojo or that woman decided to intervene.
"By the way, where is Yuka?" Watching Hakari leave, Akira shrugged his shoulders without a care before turning to Gojo, his tone cold.
"Oh, her? Don't worry about it, she is my distant cousin, so nothing happened to her," Gojo replied with a grin, standing up from the chair and walking to the door, with a finger wagging at Akira, hinting to follow him.
"Come on now, we're going to meet your classmates~,"
