Aria's POV
The two FBI agents stood in the doorway, as we weirdly stole glances at each other. I wasn't sure what to do. Whether to shut the door in their faces or to let them.
Where was Marcus? He was supposed to be monitoring the building and should have warned me the moment they entered the lobby or did something happen to him?
I was lost in thoughts before the younger looking agent spoke again. "I'm Special Agent Hillary and this is my partner, Special Agent Kenneth. Would you be so kind as to let us in?."
I must agree that I have never been this scared before except from the time I was dealing with those loan sharks but I forced myself to jump out of it even though my mind was screaming.
I stepped aside, gesturing them in. "Pardon my manners.Come in, please. Have a seat."
They walked into the living room, scanning the space like realtors that had come to purchase the house. I offered them the couch while my mind raced.
