He was standing at the working surface when Kang Min arrived, the unfinished piece still untouched in its early assembly, and the expression on his face had the specific quality of someone who had spent five days confirming something they had not wanted to confirm.
Kang Min did not ask immediately. He crossed the workshop floor and stood in the center space and waited.
"The verification is complete," Jiseok said. He turned from the surface. "What I found in the boundary layer is consistent with the pattern in the constellation stream records. Fully consistent." He paused. "What I'm going to tell you now is going to require you to sit down or it's going to require you to stand very still. Choose one."
Kang Min stood still.
Jiseok looked at him. "The floor that killed you in the old world was not a standard Tower floor."
Kang Min kept his face even.
