The second assessment session began where the first had ended.
Jiseok was at his working surface when Kang Min arrived, the unfinished piece still there, the same early assembly it had been the last time. He had not advanced it. Kang Min noted this and said nothing about it.
The workshop had the same quality it always had, the completed pieces in their cases, the light coming from no single source. He had been here twice now and he was beginning to read the arrangement the way he had been unable to on the first visit. The organizational logic was clearer on return. Items that solved the same underlying problem in different materials. The inquiry made visible through the arrangement.
He stood in the center and Jiseok came to him.
"The floors," Jiseok said. Not a question.
"Three. Standard."
"The star surfaced."
He looked at him. "How do you know."
