The Everlight party has passed a few more mountains with linking bridge and finally arrived at the volcanic mountains belt. The volcanic mountains belt is a very dangerous part in the Kingdom of Ferria despite having a path carved out. Volcanoes may erupt anytime and rock slides could happen. Every decade, mages would come to cast a barrier spells below the belt to prevent the lava from spreading throughout the whole forest. The Everlight entered the volcanic mountains belt and climbed. There is a path carved in a dead volcano that leads above the volcanic mountains belt. Above the volcanic mountains belt is very risky since there are chances you could fall into the lava or worse, the volcano erupt.
"We gotta be careful when we're walking this path,"
Raye reminded the rest of the Everlight party. "Even small pebbles could make you trip and fall into the abyss," Raye added on, following the path carved alongside of the dead volcano.
There were rope fences added at the edge of the carved path though sudden shake from other volcanoes may cause this dead volcano to trembles and incident where people falls into the depth of this dead volcano.
Inside the dead volcano, there were many minerals such as gems and metals. Dwarves from the Doreinberg clan would come all their way to pick them up and mend them to make weapons or armors. The gemstones lit up the inside of the dead volcano. Vibrant lights lit up the dead and quiet volcano which reminded Will of the mine site they been two months ago. As Al was walking, he found gold against the wall and tried to pull it out. Auoun notices and tried to help by using his hammer to break it apart from the rock but accidentally broke the gold too, devastating the priest.
The Everlight party continue climbing up the carved path for the next 30 minutes. As they were about to exit the dead volcano, it suddenly trembles. Huge vibrations shook the whole dead volcano which almost made Al fell off the path but Auoun grabbed him in time and pulled him back up.
"Thank you,"
"This is a dead volcano, it should not be erupting..."
Raye thought for a moment and realized that one of the volcano in the volcanic mountains belt might explode.
"Let's stay here for a while, we might get caught in the lava if we were to exit now,"
The rest of the Everlight agreed and so they wait. They waited and waited. Time passes as Auoun was carving his hammers with a sharp stone he found on the ground, Will shooting a few spells at Amethia while she parries it, Raye wiping the blade of his sword with a cloth and Al just lying against the rocky wall, smoking.
The huge trembles started to fade away slowly which Raye notices and decides to go and take a peek. A quick glance to the outside and Raye saw nothing. No lava erupting out of a volcano nor huge bubbling from the others. Raye called the rest of the Everlight members to catch up and they exited the dead volcano.
On the volcanic mountains belt, multiple volcanoes connected to each others. To cross them, the Everlight has to get to the other side of the volcano which opposite of the dead volcano. There are rope fences that were protected by magic which protects it from being destroyed by the lava if the volcano erupts. The rope fences made a path around the dead volcano which leads to the other side.
As the Everlight party were walking slowly across the dead volcano, sudden shake arise again, almost sending the Everlight party into the deep abyss. They quickly grabbed onto the rope, preventing from falling into the deep pit. Will look up front and saw the volcano in front of the dead volcano (They were standing at the side of the dead volcano just then) and saw that volcano bubbling rapidly. The volcano looks like if it was about to erupt but isn't. Loki then crawled out of Raye's armor but then returned after staring at that volcano for a few seconds. Raye notices and decided to investigate.
"Where are you going?"
Amethia yelled at Raye as he hold onto the rope, slowly walking towards that volcano.
"I'm going to check on it,"
"Are you insane?! You might die if you do so!"
"I could, but I won't,"
Raye looks at Amethia then the rest of the Everlight members finally at Loki who poke his head out of Raye's armor.
Slowly but steady, Raye finally arrived upon that volcano which is bubbling more and more now. He took in a deep breath and
"WHO IS IN THERE?"
He let out a loud yell at the volcano. No response. Amethia and Al were puzzled at Raye's action.
"Do you think he lost it?"
"Probably,"
Al and Amethia whispered among themselves as Raye shout again one more time.
"WHO IS IN THERE?"
After a while, the bubbling started becoming less and the lava started rising. Raye gulped but stood still, holding onto the rope.
Suddenly, a large creature emerged from the lava. It was dark red in color, lava liquid around its body, two large wings and two hands like dragon grabbed onto the side of that volcano. Its head emerged from the volcano, revealing two large horns in swirl. It has bright yellow eyes with its pupils being bright red. The creature with dark red scales that covers its body finally spoke to the Everlight party.
