Vegeta nodded, "Alright. Let's get started."
"Ha!"
Gritting his teeth, Dr. Gero shot toward Vegeta.
Vegeta smirked, clenched both fists, and charged straight back.
In an instant, the two collided.
Their fists flew like a raging storm, striking again and again. Everywhere they passed, massive boulders shattered into dust.
Boom!!
Vegeta's right fist slammed hard into Dr. Gero's face, sending him flying.
Dr. Gero gritted his teeth, skidding across the ground before barely managing to stop himself.
In the next instant, Vegeta appeared in front of him, his right leg whipping sideways.
Boom!!
Dr. Gero screamed as he was kicked thousands of meters away.
Seizing the opening, Vegeta clapped his hands together and fired a golden Ki Blast.
Startled, Dr. Gero quickly raised both palms and absorbed the attack.
"What?!" Krillin cried out.
Even Vegeta showed a hint of surprise.
Seeing their reactions, Dr. Gero grinned smugly.
"Vegeta… thank you for the energy!"
"So you absorb energy, huh?" Vegeta muttered.
"Exactly," Dr. Gero sneered, "Your Ki attacks are useless against me!"
"Is that so?" Vegeta chuckled, already figuring out a solution.
Seeing Vegeta's calm confidence, Dr. Gero's expression darkened.
Even after absorbing the attack, he had gained no real advantage in close combat.
"Ha!"
Vegeta charged again.
Dr. Gero snapped out of his hesitation and rushed to meet him.
Whoosh—
Bang! Bang! Bang!!
Their fists and feet collided violently, each blow landing with terrifying force.
Suddenly, Vegeta clenched his right fist and drove it deep into Dr. Gero's abdomen.
"Aghhh!"
Dr. Gero screamed, bile spraying from his mouth.
Vegeta followed up instantly, swinging his leg upward and kicking him away.
Boom!!
Dr. Gero shot like a beam and crashed into the mountain behind him.
A massive cloud of dust engulfed the area.
When the dust finally settled, Dr. Gero crawled out, battered and gasping.
His aura was clearly far weaker than before.
Vegeta smirked and slowly walked toward him.
Dr. Gero clenched his teeth, fear creeping into his mechanical eyes.
He finally realized the truth. He couldn't win.
The only way to survive was to absorb Vegeta's energy and force him out of Super Saiyan—but that was incredibly risky.
If he failed, he would die.
So the safest option was—
Retreat.
Of the thirty-six stratagems, retreat is best.
Dr. Gero glanced toward Krillin and the others.
If he could take hostages, escaping might still be possible.
"What's wrong?" Vegeta sneered, "where did all that confidence go?"
Dr. Gero snorted, "Don't get arrogant, Vegeta. Your Ki attacks are useless against me. This fight isn't over!"
"Ki Blast! Hahaha!" Vegeta burst into laughter.
"I don't need Ki attacks to kill you."
Enraged, Dr. Gero unleashed a barrage of Ki Blasts.
Boom! Boom! Boom!!
Explosions erupted all around Vegeta. Dodging effortlessly, Vegeta closed the distance in an instant.
"Damn it!"
Seeing his attacks fail, Dr. Gero turned toward Krillin's group but Vegeta suddenly appeared in front of him.
Boom!!
An upward kick smashed into Dr. Gero's chin, launching him into the air.
Before he could recover, Vegeta's fists rained down mercilessly.
Bang! Bang! Bang!!
Dr. Gero screamed in agony under the relentless assault.
"Ha!"
With a final roar, Vegeta clenched his fist and punched straight through Dr. Gero's body.
Dr. Gero's eyes widened in terror.
He regretted everything.
If he had known how strong Vegeta truly was, he would never have challenged him.
Vegeta snorted coldly and withdrew his arm.
Though his body had been pierced, Dr. Gero was no longer fully human—faint energy still lingered.
"V… Vegeta…"
Gritting his teeth, Dr. Gero suddenly grabbed Vegeta and began absorbing his energy.
Vegeta sneered, "Still trying to absorb me? Fine. Take all you want."
He gathered energy in his palm and fired it point-blank.
Boom!!
Dr. Gero screamed as his body was completely obliterated.
After his death, Vegeta pried the lifeless hands off his body and glanced at the absorption devices embedded in the palms.
"So you really absorbed energy through your hands."
With that, Vegeta powered down to his base form.
Though Dr. Gero had been weak, Vegeta had already fought Goku earlier, and some of his energy had been drained. He didn't have much stamina left.
After dealing with Dr. Gero, Vegeta glanced at Krillin and the others.
Then he turned and flew back toward the laboratory.
"Is Vegeta heading back to Dr. Gero's lab?" Krillin asked.
"Looks like it," Piccolo nodded, immediately following.
Krillin and the others quickly chased after him.
Inside Dr. Gero's Laboratory
Vegeta arrived first.
Inside, he saw Androids 17, 18, and 19, still sleeping inside their pods.
"Hmph… three Androids."
He glanced at the numbers displayed above the chambers.
Just then, Krillin and the others arrived behind him.
