Conrad did not waste any of his time.
Just because he had some simulation training, he did not end the training like that.
He took notes and kept on thinking about how to optimize his combat capability and how to increase his capability to deal with new types of enemies and attacks all the time.
He needs to be sure and have some idea when encountering a type of enemy that uses different kinds of nen abilities and weapons.
"I've seen it and I know it," he murmured.
"I should be able to say this to most of my enemies that I would encounter in my life."
"I need to have a counter and some idea how to fight back against such enemies."
"Maybe the group project either needs to be finished quickly or, while I am waiting for more people to join the group of our three, I need to focus on creating another ability that would increase my combat capability."
"My lethality."
These thoughts kept on surfacing in his brain.
"Right now, not considering my life-saving ability and black ring—state of calm."
"My orbs and blinking are the only abilities that I am using in direct combat."
Conrad took a paper and then started writing.
"I need a weapon, a weapon that is purely designed for power."
"Something easy to use, no training needed, and carry without showing any kind of attention..."
"I thought of a staff, but instead of a staff, a small cane would be easier to use and smaller."
"Do I conjure one or find one and then set up conditions on it?"
Many ideas come to the mind of Conrad; with a small blade hidden in a cane, he would be more lethal, and also, a normal cane from the outside would not gather any attention; it would not be much to hide.
If he wants to fight without killing his opponent, the cane would be just a cane; only when he needs to kill and needs a lethal aspect, the cane would need to be a sword, a small blade.
"I need to take classes in swordsmanship and use of bladed weapons from a master that I can find."
"Then, I can use the same master to train my simulation program and improve my swordsmanship even further."
Conrad thought.
"Yes..."
"At this point, I have decided that my sixth ability would be the "Cane" ability."
"The cane that will be made or purchased will not be conjured."
Conrad always knew that he was not really great at conjuration.
His special ability, due to him being transmigrated into the world, let him become a specialist while he used it, but in reality, he never should forget that he was a manipulator.
Conjuring objects and weapons would be inefficient for him at this stage, and he did not want to create inefficient abilities.
"Now."
"I need to devise a plan and add limitations and conjuration to the cane; I will try."
Conrad thought for a moment, and then his mind landed on the fact that he wanted to use the "Blade" part of the "Cane" if he wanted to kill.
"Yes..."
"Yes..."
"That is great thinking."
"First, I need a cane."
"Something valuable that can be acquired without much of a problem."
Conrad's ideas became more focused as time passed and he kept working.
He started doing some research on hidden-bladed canes on the net and found several canes that sold for under ten million yen. He had money for those, so it would be easy.
After some more research, he read about a cane.
"Blackhand Cane"
"A cane of ancient history, the general understanding of the cane and the blade was known even to most of the scholars. It is said to be a powerful cane despite the years."
"Black and silverish in color, on the top of it, a small black-hand insignia; the blade is seventy centimeters, while the complete size of the cane is one meter."
"The cane blade material is powerful enough to hit the steel and not to get harmed or lose its sharpness."
"Price, 10,000,000 Jenny."
Conrad nodded.
"This feels right..."
He then ordered the cane and then paid the bill.
In several hours, because the cane was already in the same city as him, it has arrived.
He took the cane in his hands and felt great.
"Yes..."
"What a great feeling," he said, and then he placed the cane on the table.
He then went back to the small table where he was writing and wrote.
"If I do not want to kill my target, I will not use the "blade" part of the cane."
"When I want to select my target, I need to look at the target and then say the words 'Marked For Death!'"
"When the words are said, "The 'Cane' will let me use the 'Blade' part for one hour for the marked target,"
"The blade part will be ineffective and harmless against targets that are not 'Marked For Death.'"
"If I do hit any target that is not marked by "Marked For Death" and the words are not said, The Blade will melt down and there will be only "Cane" left to use for one month of time."
"The targets that are marked for death will have reduced defensive nen and physical capability against 'Cane' while having an easier time to target me; I would be easy to find for them in close proximity and can be felt by them while the one-hour time is active."
"Marked For Death – Targets cannot be assassinated or ambushed. When the targeting and marking are active, they will know that they are targeted by me, and it will render the use of the "Blade" part of the cane for "Assassination."
Conrad thought more and then nodded. He wanted lethality in direct combat, not an assassination tool.
If he needs an assassination tool in the later times, he can create it without much of a problem when he has time for it.
"When targets are hit by the first strike, the first slash of the 'Blade,' the blade will inflict a bigger 'Mark' on them, and from that moment on, the target needs to hit it back to the user of the weapon to make the mark smaller."
"Each time damage is taken, the 'Mark' size increases. After three hits, the user of the cane, I, will be able to use the 'Blade' part of the 'Cane' to select a target in a month's time without marking them again."
Conrad smiled and nodded.
"More and more, I can add on more without cutting much from the capability of the ability."
