Noticing Amelia was getting sleepy, Cassian Jennings slowly brought the swing to a stop. He gripped the ropes on either side and said softly, "If you're tired, you should head inside and get some rest."
"Okay." A flicker of sadness crossed Amelia Avery's eyes as she listened to Cassian Jennings. She nodded, stood up, and started walking toward the house. She didn't say anything more, nor did she betray the slightest hint of reluctance to leave.

At the sound of his voice, she paused. Turning back, she replied faintly, "I know."
"Get some rest, then." 'Looking at the woman just a few steps away, he couldn't bear to let her go inside. He desperately wanted to pull her into a tight embrace and kiss her fiercely, to pour out all the longing he'd felt for so long.'
'But he didn't dare. He was afraid he'd scare her off.'
