Truthfully, Laura Lowell didn't know what to call the feelings she had for Aiden Shaw when they were children.
'Calling it love seemed a bit too simplistic.'
'After all, she was only eleven or twelve at the time.'
'The feelings from that time were probably tinged with an innocent, budding crush.'
'But more than that, it was likely her dependence on him.'

Laura Lowell's fair fingertips gently traced the rim of her coffee cup, a smile as bright as the stars playing on her lips.
"You didn't sleep at all last night, did you? Just look at those dark circles."
'It was true. She really hadn't slept much last night. She had tossed and turned in bed, completely unable to settle down.'
