As they were finishing their coffee and about to pay, Laura Lowell received a text from Peach. It said she was in a bit of trouble and asked Laura to come help her.
"I'm afraid I can't go shopping with you anymore," Laura said. "Peach is in some trouble, and I have to go to her right now."
Hannah Hale glanced at the text on the phone screen. "It's okay, you should hurry over. Do you want me to come with you?"
"No, it's fine. I'll get going then."
Peach hadn't specified what the problem was in the text, only that Laura needed to get there quickly.
Laura Lowell hailed a cab by the roadside and gave the driver the address after getting in.
The car soon pulled up in front of a five-star hotel. Laura paid the fare and got out.
She hesitated at the entrance for a moment. 'Why would Peach come to a hotel out of the blue?' she wondered.
Laura didn't overthink it. Worried her friend might be in some real trouble, she went straight inside.
