"Just a moment," Yara Kent said as she turned to go back.
Jenna Sterling sized up Cecilia Adler. In the sunlight, the woman's skin looked even fairer, and her lips were a soft red, a shade lighter than cherries. "Are you wearing foundation and lipstick?"
'How could a normal person be this fair?'
Cecilia Adler's eyes shifted. "Are you trying to compliment me?"
Jenna Sterling was speechless. 'Who's complimenting you? How shameless.' She replied in English, "Garish."
Cecilia Adler didn't understand. "What's with the sudden gibberish? Did your tongue go numb?"
Jenna Sterling was at a loss for words. "...I was speaking English. 'Garish' is a compliment on your beauty."
