If it were Titus Shaw, she couldn't have said it.
She replaced her words with sobs: "Boo-hoo..."
Sean Adler and Theresa Sheridan exchanged a glance, their faces breaking into the smug grins of petty victors.
'There are a lot of us. Scared now, aren't you?'
"So now you remember we're your uncle and aunt," Theresa Sheridan said, looking exceptionally pleased with herself.
'Just a lone orphan girl.'
'So what if she married a city man? So what if she's feisty?'
'When push comes to shove, she still has to rely on us, doesn't she?'
'Without us as her backing, the villagers would bully her to death.'
Cecilia Adler bit her lip. "Yes, I was wrong before. I was actually planning to bring you with me when I go back to the city this time."
Theresa Sheridan grew excited. Moving to the city would be wonderful.
She could just enjoy life in the city without having to farm anymore.
"Where would we live if you took us?" Sean Adler was very concerned about this.
