After helping Old Mrs. Jocelyn fetch water and saying a quick goodbye, Cecilia Adler went to the production team to borrow a hoe.
Mrs. Dalton's son, Daniel Dalton, managed the farm tools. His eyes lit up when he saw Cecilia Adler. "Well, if it isn't Cecilia! When did you get back? Haven't seen you in over half a year. You're more beautiful than ever."
Cecilia Adler shot him a sideways glance, a flicker of disgust vanishing as quickly as it appeared. When she looked at him directly, she put on a friendly smile. "I just arrived. And you're looking more and more handsome yourself, Brother Dalton. I'm here to borrow a hoe. Is that convenient?"
"Of course, of course." Daniel Dalton was beaming at the compliment. He said eagerly, "Take whichever one feels best to you."
Cecilia Adler thanked him and reached for the hoe closest to her.
Daniel Dalton's hand suddenly shot out to cover hers. Cecilia Adler quickly dodged his groping hand.
