Chapter 109 - Chapter 109: Darkness Masking Darkness

"Has she regained consciousness?"

Andy's anxious voice broke the silence hanging over the ashram.

Siya looked toward him before answering.

"No."

"Clara is still unconscious."

A shadow of worry crossed Andy's face.

"What if she—"

"No," Siya interrupted gently, shaking her head. "She's only asleep."

"There is nothing to fear."

She glanced toward the room where Clara rested peacefully.

"For all this time, she wasn't imprisoned in darkness..."

"...she was confined inside a chamber flooded with blinding light."

"That kind of prolonged exposure can affect both the body and the mind."

"When she wakes, she may not remember everything immediately."

"So don't pressure her."

"Let her recover slowly."

"Allow her memories to return naturally."

Andy nodded.

"I understand."

Ali, who had remained silent until now, finally spoke.

"Boss..."

"I need to talk to you."

Siya looked at him.

"What is it, Ali?"

Without another word, Ali gently took hold of her hand and led her away from the ashram.

Far enough that no one else could overhear them.

Only the soft wind moved between them.

Ali stopped.

Then turned toward her.

His expression had lost its usual composure.

"Tell me the truth, Siya."

"What happened to you in that place?"

"I want to know everything."

"No secrets."

Siya smiled faintly.

"So..."

"You're worried about me."

"But look..."

"I returned exactly as I promised."

"I'm standing right here."

Safe.

Alive.

Ali's voice suddenly became firm.

"This isn't a joke, Siya."

The seriousness in his tone erased the smile from her face.

For a brief moment...

silence settled between them.

Then Siya answered.

Softly.

Calmly.

"No..."

"I'm not joking."

She looked toward the distant horizon.

"I could have escaped that place much earlier."

"But something inside me refused to accept a single truth."

"My heart..."

"...wouldn't believe that Clara was truly gone."

She lowered her eyes.

"And then..."

"I became trapped."

"Not by chains."

"Not by walls."

"But between my own heart..."

"...and my own mind."

"My body itself became my prison."

She paused.

"I could feel it."

"Someone was deliberately misleading me."

"Someone was trying to delay me."

"Trying to stop me."

Ali listened without interrupting.

"I couldn't understand why."

"What exactly was he preventing me from doing?"

"Was it only to kill me?"

She slowly shook her head.

"No."

"That answer never satisfied me."

A faint seriousness settled over her expression.

"I had already understood his intentions."

"He doesn't want to kill me."

"He wants something far worse."

Ali's eyes narrowed.

"He wants..."

"...to possess me."

"To break my will."

"To make me his slave."

Her voice remained calm despite the horrifying truth.

"His obsession has never been my death."

"It has always been my surrender."

"He knows me."

"He knows that Siya would rather cease to exist..."

"...than willingly serve darkness."

"So he chose another path."

"He wants to conquer the entire world first."

"Because he believes..."

"...that once everything I love has been destroyed..."

"...once humanity falls..."

"...once hope disappears..."

"...I will finally break."

"I will lose the strength to resist."

"And then..."

"I will surrender to him on my own."

Ali remained speechless.

The realization chilled him.

"So..."

Siya continued quietly,

"the real question still remains."

"If his goal wasn't simply keeping me imprisoned..."

"...then what exactly was he trying so desperately to keep me away from?"

She looked into the distance.

Her eyes sharpened.

"What was happening outside..."

"...that he couldn't allow me to witness?"

"What truth..."

"...was he hiding from me?"

The wind suddenly grew colder.

Neither of them spoke again.

Because for the first time...

they both understood—

The prison had never been the real trap.

The real trap...

was whatever had been unfolding beyond its walls while Siya was being kept occupied.
