Lucian's feet pounded loudly against the ground as he ran, his vampire speed pushing him far beyond human limits now that witnesses were behind him.
The man in the hoodie had disappeared down an alley between two abandoned warehouses, the kind of forgotten industrial area where people didn't ask questions.

Lucian thought then rounded the corner and spotted him fifty yards ahead, walking casually like he had all the time in the world.
Like he hadn't just assaulted someone in front of dozens of cameras.
Lucian closed the distance in seconds. His hand shot out and grabbed the back of the man's hoodie, yanking him backward with enough force to lift him off his feet.
The man yelped in surprise as Lucian dragged him deeper into the alley, away from the street, away from any potential witnesses.
Lucian slammed him against the brick wall and the man's head cracked against the stone. His eyes went wide with shock and fear.
