Chapter 76 - Chapter 76: What on earth is all this?!

Immediately after came their flesh and bones!

Within the Flame Sandstorm, high-speed rotating, molten rock particles were like hundreds of millions of red-hot microscopic razors. Empowered by terrifying temperatures, they scraped away the bodies of their targets from the point of contact onward, layer by layer, piece by piece at an unimaginable speed, shaving them off, disintegrating them, reducing them to their most primitive particles!

The entire process was unbelievably fast!

A massive Lava Lizard went from touching the edge of the sandstorm to vanishing completely, reduced to a wisp of scorch-scented green smoke, in less than a single second!

All that remained was a shallow imprint on the ground, instantly vitrified by extreme heat!

Several Lava Earth Dragons roared as they spat out searing white molten fireballs. Fireballs powerful enough to melt gold and iron collided with the Flame Sandstorm and, in that instant, were like water droplets falling into a red-hot iron pan—sizzle! Not even a proper ripple was stirred before they were assimilated and absorbed by the purer, more domineering Sun Flame within the storm, instead further amplifying its might!

As for the Lava Earth Dragons themselves, they were swept into the storm, following the Lava Lizards' fate, rapidly disintegrating and disappearing amid blinding golden light.

That Lava Earth Dragon behemoth—previously injured by Lou Gao and then annihilated of a limb by Lin Xia's gaze—burned with its final madness. Lowering its massive lava horn, it charged straight at the core of the storm!

This time, a sound was finally produced, like a red-hot iron rod thrust into boiling molten steel.

"Hiss—BOOM!"

The moment its horn made contact with the storm's core, the tip began to melt and shorten at a terrifying rate!

Its enormous burning body seemed to sink into a viscous mire of unimaginable temperature, forcibly dragged and torn apart by a dreadful power!

Its blazing golden flames struggled to resist, but before the all-pervading, world-incinerating Sun Essence Fire within the storm, they were nothing more than a mantis trying to stop a chariot!

Its body twisted and deformed violently within the storm. Large chunks of "flesh," burning with golden flames, were stripped away by the high-speed rotating molten sand, carried off, and vaporized!

It held out for less than three seconds!

Three seconds later, this colossal fire behemoth, revived from the corpse of a ten-thousand-year Soul Beast, along with the seemingly undying golden flames covering it, vanished completely within the raging gold-red Flame Sandstorm, leaving behind not the slightest trace of its former existence.

Only the storm's core, which flared even more brilliantly for an instant, testified that its immense energy had been completely devoured and assimilated!

Fear—true, overwhelming fear finally replaced frenzy, surging like an icy tide and instantly sweeping over all surviving Soul Beasts!

However, it was far too late.

The Flame Sandstorm advanced relentlessly like a greedy, gaping maw, devouring everything in its path!

Wherever it passed, be it thousand-year Soul Beasts or ten-thousand-year corpses, blazing fire monsters or tangible living behemoths, all were reduced to ashes!

The mountain of Soul Beast corpses piled at the cave entrance melted away like snow under sunlight.

As the sandstorm's edge brushed past the mine's rock walls, the hardened stone melted and collapsed without a sound. The cave entrance was forcibly widened and deepened at a rate visible to the naked eye!

Scorching air currents, carrying the ashes of total incineration, formed rolling columns of searing black-red smoke laden with choking sulfur and burnt odors, violently spewing from the entrance and from the fissures Lou Gao had blasted open!

Farther away, the earth shook and the mountains trembled!

Within Lou Gao's perception, those Soul Beast figures rushing over in a frenzy, radiating formidable auras, abruptly faltered upon sensing this world-destroying Flame Sandstorm and the primordial Sun Essence aura contained within it! Some of the weaker ones even let out terrified cries and instinctively retreated!

Only a few of the most powerful and ferocious auras continued to charge forward without regard for anything else, but their speed was clearly being greatly suppressed by the devastating pressure.

Deep within the mine, the two sources of destruction, the Lin Xia wreathed in Crimson Bone Golden Flames and Larvitar in its lava incarnation, hovered silently at the heart of the Flame Sandstorm.

The flame-burning "gazes" of Lin Xia and Larvitar coldly swept across the area at the cave entrance that had been instantly cleared, leaving only molten rock and vitrified ground, as well as the distant tide of Soul Beasts thrown into chaos and terror.

Deep within the consciousness of Lin Xia and Larvitar, that intense thought did not weaken in the slightest. Instead, because the enemies had been temporarily "cleared," it became even clearer and more fervent:

Obstacles cleared… can… continue… eating!

The crimson-gold skeletal frame encasing a body of flowing lava slowly turned. Those eye sockets burning like miniature suns once more greedily locked onto the core of the mineral vein behind them, where eternal golden light flowed.

Larvitar also released a soundless, desire-filled hiss as its lava body turned toward the vein. Within its crimson-gold flame pupils remained only boundless greed for that ultimate fire-element energy.

Lou Gao crouched within a rock fissure he had barely carved out, so shallow it could fit only half his body. His back pressed against the scorching stone as he shakily felt the world-shattering energy storm outside gradually subside.

Carefully, Lou Gao peeked out from the edge of the fissure, and what he saw was Lin Xia and Larvitar completely disregarding everything, once again casting their "gazes" toward the Sun Essence mineral vein.

"…"

Lou Gao opened his mouth, but in the end, no sound came out, only a mouthful of bitterness and an absurd sense of helplessness.

Lou Gao knew that his voice, his worries…

To Lin Xia and Larvitar at this moment, they likely did not even amount to a faint breeze.

Their world now contained only one thing—the Sun Essence that could bring endless power and transformation.

And deep beneath the earth, that cry imbued with rage and agitation echoed faintly once more, growing sharper, more urgent, more imminent… as if some terrifying existence, completely enraged by this unrestrained "theft," was about to break through the ground!

Looking at the two figures with their backs turned to him—Lin Xia and Larvitar—utterly unaware of, or perhaps utterly indifferent to, the true crisis about to arrive, Lou Gao could only clench the scorch Molding Pen in his hand in despair and draw in a deep, deep breath of searing air that burned his lungs.

"What on earth is all this?!"

"It's here!!"

Lou Gao, huddled within the makeshift rock fissure, felt his heart nearly leap out of his throat.

He could clearly sense that the rock beneath his feet was no longer solid ground, but like a slab of fat tossed into boiling oil—violently trembling, groaning madly.

At the mine entrance, the brief "vacuum zone" formed after being cleared by Lin Xia and Larvitar's terrifying Flame Sandstorm was instantly filled by a far more surging, far more violent torrent!

This time, it was no longer a chaotic mass of thousand-year Soul Beasts or resurrected corpses.

Appearing at the cave entrance like mobile fortresses cast from molten lava were true ten-thousand-year Soul Beasts!

Their massive bodies were like embryonic mountains. Their heavy scales were no longer merely crimson, but a deep black-red, like solidified magma. What flowed between the gaps in their armor was no longer dark red light, but golden molten fire like tangible lava!

Atop their enormous heads, thick lava horns gleamed with a chilling light capable of piercing mountains, while their crimson-gold pupils resembled windows into purgatory, burning with an undying, relentless will fully ignited by the subterranean roar.
