Chapter 38 - Chapter 38

The next day Felix arrived at the designated area the guild picked out. This location is in the Great Plains with the guild moving most of the animals temporarily. The ones that sneaked back in overnight, when they get caught up in the battle, they can only blame themselves.

Dressed in his usual jester outfit with the wind lightly jingling the large bells attached. Felix stood across from Mirajane with his arms crossed on a rock while the guild members gathered. Cana's shouted for last minute bets could be heard.

"Are you ready?" Felix asked Mirajane.

Mirajane had her fist clenched as the breeze blew her hair a bit. Her body tense as if she is going up against a monster many times stronger than herself. The black shirt and shorts she wore clinging tightly almost as if threatening if she flexes even a bit more they will tear apart.

"Natually." Mirajane replied.

"Betting is now close." Cana called out.

"Then let this round begin." Makarov, acting as a referee, raised his hand.

A bead of sweat formed on Mirajane's forehead before a grin formed as she used her Take Over Magic. In a quick flash of light, her black top and shorts changed into a red one piece that was split down the front that ended just below her belly button. A black line formed on her thighs and over her right eye as if cracks were forming.

Her hands shifted from nice fingers into demonic claws as scales and fish fins formed on her forearms. Mira's pretty white hair raised up defying gravity revealing her now elongated ears much like elves in legends. All while she released a demonic like magic that could weaken those with weak or wavering wills.

Whoosh!

Crack!

The rock below Mirajane broke apart as she vanished. Felix simply turned his body as he raised his leg and delivered a heavy kick as he applied magic to increase his strength and defense. When Mirajane reappeared, she was before him raising her arm to block his kick. Then she vanished again as she plowed the ground leaving four trenched as she tried to stop.

Crouched down onto all fours, Mirajane looked up only to see Felix left the rock. Then her instincts flared as she pushed herself to the side as a foot crashed down where she formerly was.

Boom!

The ground shattered apart as the ground raised and cracks appeared. Much like when Sakura destroyed the ground when teaming up with Naruto after his training trip to spar with Kakashi. Felix did something similar as he toyed with an unnamed magic.

This magic really is a very basic usage of magic and basically every proper mage uses it to enhance their defences and attack power. Thanks to this, many don't actually view it as an actual magic type, but more of a basic usage of magic itself. Unlike him, others don't put so much magic into the strikes as otherwise they would wipe out their magic in a few strikes.

"Ahh!" Mirajane screamed as she was flung away.

While she wasn't directly hit, she was still caught up in the ground explosion. So like a speeding bullet, she rolled on the ground a few times before standing up.

Quickly after regaining her footing, Mirajane knew that close range wasn't an option here. So she quickly darted up into the sky and put her hands together at her sides as she began to gather magic forming a dark purple sphere.

"Soul Extinction!"

A dark purple wave of magic with small electric arcs jetting off rushed towards Felix. The magic put in was quite an impressive amount. Still he just gathered magic into his fist as he met it head on.

"Crush!"

In a flash of white, the purple wave of magic broke apart into seemingly cubes.

--

"Is there a magic he can't learn?" Macao in the crowd muttered. "So easily using Gildarts Crush Magic."

"Maybe?" his long time friend and rival Wakaba answered unsure.

--

While the magic cubes were dispersing, Felix vanished from his spot and appeared in the sky near Mirajane. A pair of white wings appeared behind him as he floated before her with his fist raised.

"Serious Normal Punch!"

Under his immense magic might while he sent his fist forward, Felix fist enlarged thanks to Giant Magic. Mirajane quickly tried to block as she raised her guard to the maxim, but was easily flung away smashing into the ground.

Then touching down on the ground, Felix waited to see if Mirajane wanted to end or continue this fight. His answer was a fist covered in dark purple magic as she appeared next to him covered in dirt.

Rising his fist to meet it head on, Felix began to quickly exchange blows. Due to their many past spars, Mirajane had learned his habits. So she was able to dodge and counter a few of his strikes.

Bam!

Taking a step back, Felix dusted off his shirt as her kick grazed his chest. While she might have learned a bit of his habits, he was also learning. So when she went to deliver a kick as a counter, he simply stepped back and followed the strike.

Under their strikes as they were imbued with magic, the ground around them cracked or flattened itself.

"Ha," Mirajane was almost cheerful at kicking him.

This cheerful feeling didn't last long as the magic Felix began to emit engulfed her. Terror filled her being as she didn't feel like she was facing Felix, but a being of magic. There was no familiar jingle of bells or eyes she grew to like, just a fuzzy image with two eyes staring back at her.

Mirajane's body stiffened as cold sweat and fear overwhelmed her completely. Even the demon soul she took over seemed to freeze up.

"I-I Lose." She stuttered.

"Felix's win." Makarov announced.

Only a few guild members sighed among the many cheers. These few were the ones that bet on Mirajane to win, but luckily due to the very slim chance of winning, it was only pocket money they lost.

Felix retracted his magic and scratched his cheek as he pushed down his growing excitement. He was beginning to have fun in the fight, but before he really could let go, the fight ended.

"I will win next time." Mirajane after recovering announced proudly.

"Mmm." Felix just nodded.

"I want to fight next!" Natsu announced loudly.

"Ok." Felix nodded.

"Iron Fire Strike." Natsu charged forward with his fist covered in flames.

Then in a single strike, Natsu was staring up to the sky. The battle ended before it began.
