Cherreads

Chapter 37 - Chapter 37

Upon returning to the seemingly always brawling guild known as Fairy Tail. Felix stepped inside with an extra bit of joy in his step. Even if his usually plain face didn't show much, those that really knew him could tell he was happy.

"Did the mission go well?" Makarov asked.

"Yeah, only a few died this time." Felix replied.

Makarov held a strained smile since he wasn't sure that something to be happy about. Then again, compared to some of his past quests, it really was on the lighter side. So unlike Felix who was thinking his luck was finally changing around, Makarov felt it more like a calm before the storm.

His scalp tingles a bit wondering how tragic that scene will be. Since if he has learned anything over the past year when it comes to Felix's missions. Bodies and tragedies always follow when it comes to his requests.

After submitting his report on the mission, Felix looked around the guild. He saw that besides the older members, most of his friends and those only a few years older were not around. The request board seemed to be fairly low on missions too.

"Did many go out on missions?" Felix asked.

"No, most went to prepare the area for yours and Mirajane's fight." Makarov shook his head.

Felix held a giant question mark within his mind wondering why they needed to prepare the ring. Most guild fights were done out back and usually didn't need a proper ring. In the previous fights, this was also true for his spars with others.

"Mirajane wants to go all out and…well you know. She is quite strong and can be quite destructive." Makarov rubbed the back of his head.

Felix just nodded as he took a seat and ordered a snack for himself. While waiting on the food, he cracked open a book on the counter and began to read. Only unlike other times, this book wasn't filled with line after line of text, but pictures with speech bubbles.

"Comic book?" Felix asked.

He knew that this world had comic books, but they weren't super popular. This is more or less due to them only being distributed to bigger cities that surround the capital. The stories within could be captivating and amazing, but due to the lack of sales, not many have the chance to read them.

"Reedus was commissioned to draw an illustration cover for the first volume." Makarov explained. "The author is a fan of Reedus' paintings."

Reedus Jonah is a member of Fairy Tail who uses Pict Magic. The man who is a mage of Fairy Tail is actually quite shy and usually does painting requests. For he is a man who likes painting cheerful scenes or good looking people.

On the side, like Felix who published a book, he works as an artist too. Thus, he is quite well known in the art world.

So Felix just nodded as he stared at the comic in his hands. He tapped his hand as he hummed thinking about something. His whimsical ideas were firing up again as he held his chin wondering if he could team up with Reedus to make a comic of their own.

Once this idea took hold, Felix hopped off his chair and ran over to Reedus who was sketching in his notepad. The man is fairly tall even when seated with curly light orange hair. His glasses hung slightly down his nose as he was working on the sketch before him. While thanks to Makarov's giant magic, his torso was like a giant round ball.

"Reedus, can you form a comic duo with me?" Felix asked.

"Comic duo?" Reedus looked confused.

"Mmm. I want to do a comic, but my drawing skills, while not bad, can't compare to yours. So I do the writing and helping out with character design, while you do the art portion." Felix replied.

Reedus didn't reject it outright, but he didn't agree either. Felix knew he was just asking out of the blue. So he decided to ask them and wait for an answer.

"Can you prepare a summary of the story and a few characters for me to look at before I give my answer." Reedus said.

Felix nodded.

Then Felix left him alone before running to go by an art pad and pencils to start sketching. He already had an idea to bring to this world. Even after all this time since he last saw it, even if a few sections of the story are more vague than others. He knew the story he wanted to make into a comic.

Dragon Ball.

Fairy Tail mages tend to be adventurous and brawling. Dragon Ball starts off as an adventure of finding the seven dragon balls that can grant wishes to the journey of becoming the strongest martial artist.

So after buying his supplies, Felix didn't waste any time and began sketching the main cast and writing out the story. The story in essence is quite simple since the appeal is more in the fights and funny moments.

--

Time slipped away for Felix as he was focused on drawing and writing the story, he didn't realize the sun setting outside the window. It wasn't until he heard his door opening and seeing Mirajane walking in did he realize it. So placing down his pencil, Felix gave her his attention.

"Welcome back, Felix." Mirajane said, then roughly patted his head.

While she smiled, Felix felt she was annoyed with how rough he rubbed his head. He didn't understand why she would be annoyed so he just patiently waited for her to say so.

"Clients are such a pain." Mirajane began to vent.

From following her rants, it seems that the mission she went on with her siblings ran into trouble. The request itself wasn't the problem, but the client that was the problem. It seems the request they took was removing some animals from an area, but the client was also an activist. So when Elfman accidently grabbed a beast a bit rough, the client began complaining and tried everything to reduce the reward.

Felix could only nod since he had met a few clients who tried to reduce the payment. Granted his clients who tried this usually ended up in jail or dying due to their methods.

"What are you up to?" Mirajane asked.

"I'm going to create a comic." Felix replied. "Now I just need to convince Reedus to help with the art."

Mirajane nodded as she began looking over the sketches before her. She saw a boy with a pole that later grew up. Next she saw a girl on a motor bike, a short bald monk and a bald old man. Each of them had a few different looks before she glanced over the story idea.

"I think he will agree," Mirajane said. "I think it will sell better than your book, The Hobbit too."

Felix only shrugged as he didn't really care that much about the sales. He wrote because he liked to or found it interesting. If it didn't sell well, then it just didn't sell and he moved on.

Mirajane then moved, sniffed and waved her hand before her nose.

"Prepare the towels and clothes. I will go start filling the tub." Mirajane ordered.

Felix went to his room. He began digging around pulling out clothes for himself, then moved onto one for Mirajane. Inside his dresser he had clothes of all sizes for his friends or more so his female friends.

'I think I might need to buy a bigger size for her soon.' Felix held up a lacy bra.

Mirajane had seemed to hit a growth spurt so by his rough estimate, he will need to update her wardrobe he has. The same could be said for Erza and Cana as they seemed to hit the acceleration on growing recently. Not only have they grown taller, their womanly charm has begun to develop to a greater degree.
