Mufasa arrived at The White Sword Tower and met Meryn Trant.
"Ser Mufasa, what brings you here?" he asked.
"The King has ordered the immediate release of Eddard Stark and Mace Tyrell," Mufasa said.
After speaking, he walked straight to the second floor.
Eddard Stark and Mace Tyrell were held in different rooms, but their rooms faced the hallway. So, they didn't need to leave their rooms; they just needed to open their doors to chat.
When Mufasa arrived on the second floor, he heard them discussing how to eliminate locusts.
"My lords, you can go home now!" Mufasa said.
"Mufasa!" Both looked at him in surprise.
"Shouldn't you be commanding the army on The Wall? Why are you back in King's Landing? Who is commanding all those soldiers now?" Eddard Stark asked.
As the Duke of the North, he had to be concerned; if anything happened to The Wall, the North would be the first to suffer.
"With Ser Kevan and Lord Commander Mormont there, you don't need to worry," Mufasa said.
"Now, my lords, it's time for you to leave here!" Mufasa stated.
When he left The White Sword Tower, two more people were behind him. After Eddard Stark came out, he asked Joffrey to allow him to return to the North.
Joffrey allowed him to go back alone, but his children needed to stay in The Red Keep.
Eddard Stark knew that Joffrey intended to keep Arya and Sansa as hostages.
However, as of now, Joffrey showed no motive or sign of wanting to harm them.
Eddard Stark left three personal guards to protect his children, while the others returned to Winterfell with him.
Mufasa, however, did not choose to return with him.
He returned Mace Tyrell to his family. Margaery was especially happy to see her father back and very grateful to Mufasa.
"I hope there won't be any problems with the army's food supply. Even with a locust plague, I believe The Reach's stored grain is enough for ten years, isn't that right, Lord Mace?" Mufasa asked.
"General Mufasa, rest assured, I won't have any more problems."
Mace Tyrell immediately returned to Highgarden to prepare to dispatch grain from the granaries.
Mufasa returned to North Sea Kindergarten for a look, then visited South Mountain Nursing Home.
Now, the High Sparrow, as the priest and bishop of the monastery, preached Mufasa's deeds to them every day.
"He returned safely from the cursed Valyrian ruins; he is blessed by a god, not the Seven Gods, but a greater deity."
"He has a giant lion beast that can fly, which is the symbol of his family."
"He is benevolent and charitable, helping the elderly and children."
"He also came from humble origins, grew up in a Brothel, and doesn't know who his mother is. He is never arrogant; he is with us."
"He is: Mufasa Lannister, the golden lion king."
The High Sparrow was giving an impassioned speech, below him were the South Mountain elders from the nursing home and the children from North Sea Kindergarten.
After the speech, they sang hymns together. After singing, everyone embraced like brothers and sisters.
After everyone had left one by one, Mufasa found the High Sparrow.
"It seems you enjoy your current life!" Mufasa said.
"Mufasa, I had long anticipated your arrival," the High Sparrow said.
"Oh? Don't tell me you dreamed it; do you also have the ability of a Dreamwalker?" Mufasa expressed doubt.
The High Sparrow shook his head. He pointed his finger downwards.
"The thing beneath told me. I don't know what you buried here, but it's very powerful, isn't it?"
Mufasa sternly warned the High Sparrow.
"The thing inside is not something you can touch. Even if you dream about something, don't become obsessed with it. Because you could be misled and become a sacrifice at any time."
The High Sparrow looked solemn.
"I am a true believer, always ready to dedicate myself."
"Now is not the time, that day has not yet come, Father," Mufasa said.
"If that day ever comes, I will die for justice and truth," he said.
The High Sparrow was a very special person, and Mufasa couldn't change his mind, but he hadn't done anything detrimental to Mufasa.
After leaving the monastery, Mufasa went to the Grand Maester, where Qyburn was also present, and they were discussing how to deal with the locust plague.
"I've developed a poison that is harmless to humans and other livestock, only killing insects. If I'm given enough money and resources, I can produce it in large quantities."
Maester Qyburn said.
"Qyburn, now is not the time for your biological experiments. When did you conduct this experiment? Show us the evidence," Grand Maester Pycelle said.
"Look, this is the evidence."
Maester Qyburn brought a cage filled with dense locusts, then he used a spray bottle to spray some gas into it, and immediately all the locusts inside became stiff and motionless.
"This is terrifying! Will people really be unharmed?" Grand Maester Pycelle asked.
"I'm unharmed! After all, I am a Maester," Qyburn said, touching his non-existent necklace around his neck.
"This insecticide seems very effective! Maester Qyburn, how did you make it?" Mufasa asked.
"Mufasa?" Grand Maester Pycelle and Maester Qyburn only just realized Mufasa had arrived at some point.
"It's made from things after plants decay. The process is very complex; no one else has mastered this technique besides me," Maester Qyburn said confidently.
"Good, I can fund you, but you must give me all the rights to sell your insecticide," Mufasa said.
"Okay, I wouldn't know how to sell things anyway," Qyburn said.
With Mufasa's funding, Maester Qyburn began working overtime to produce insecticide. In less than a month, he had produced enough insecticide to fill half of the Dragonpit.
"Now is the time to attack the locusts! Let's go! Destination: The Reach."
Mufasa led a portion of King's Landing's Gold Cloaks to The Reach.
Every time they arrived at a forest, grassland, or pond, they sprayed insecticide there.
Sometimes they would also use millet and corn to create traps to attract locusts to eat.
In this way, Mufasa and his group traveled all the way to Highgarden.
By the time they reached Highgarden, the locusts had been mostly eliminated. The remaining ones could be entirely dealt with by birds.
Mufasa rested for a few days at House Tyrell in Highgarden. During this time, he inspected House Tyrell's grain reserves, which were indeed plentiful, enough to sustain a major war.
Combined with the grain reserves of other families in The Reach, as long as the Long Night didn't exceed twenty years, they could all survive without starving.
