Chapter 44 - Chapter 44:Demon War Arc (1)

Chapter Start

Morning...

The entire HQ was in chaos.

Hunters were running everywhere.

Some were delivering reports.

Others were preparing weapons.

The whole headquarters was on high alert.

Then—

A car stopped in front of HQ.

Jay, Kabir, and Ansh stepped out of it.

As soon as they got out—

Aditya quickly walked toward them.

"Why are you guys so late?"

Kabir laughed.

"Sir, there was traffic."

Ansh immediately replied,

"He's lying."

"He stopped to eat on the way."

Kabir quickly defended himself.

"Hey! It was just one burger!"

Everyone started walking toward the building.

On the way—

Jay noticed Ishita standing nearby.

He smiled and tried to greet her.

"Hell—"

But before he could finish—

Ishita turned her face away and walked off without saying a word.

Jay stopped in his tracks.

Kabir looked at him.

"Jay..."

"What happened to Ishita?"

Jay sighed.

"Nothing."

Ansh and Kabir exchanged knowing smiles.

A few minutes later—

Everyone arrived at the meeting room.

All the top hunters were already there.

Dhruv.

Amar.

Ishita.

And many others.

Aditya stood in the center of the room.

"For today's battle, we've evacuated all crowded areas."

"But there's one problem."

"The Gate can open anywhere."

The room instantly became serious.

As soon as the meeting ended—

Everyone started leaving.

Jay immediately walked over to Ishita.

"Ishita..."

"I'm sorry."

But she ignored him and walked away.

Jay's mood worsened.

Nearby, Dhruv and Amar watched the scene and laughed.

Dhruv said,

"Jay, she won't forgive you like that."

Jay frowned.

"Then what should I do?"

Dhruv smiled.

"Give her roses."

"Then apologize."

"She'll forgive you."

Jay looked confused.

"How do you know that?"

Dhruv shrugged.

"We've worked together before."

"Trust me."

Jay thought for a moment.

Then nodded.

"Alright."

Some time later—

Jay stood in front of a flower shop.

He walked inside and bought a bouquet of red roses.

Then he headed back toward HQ.

On the way—

He ran into Ansh.

Ansh looked at the roses and smirked.

"Jay..."

"Who are those roses for?"

Jay immediately became nervous.

"M-Me?"

"They're for my sister."

Ansh burst out laughing.

"Yeah."

"Of course."

"Go ahead."

"I'm sure Ishita is waiting."

Jay looked shocked.

"Why would Ishita be waiting?"

Ansh grinned.

"Sure."

"Whatever you say."

Then he walked away.

Leaving Jay completely confused.

Outside HQ—

Ishita was standing alone.

Jay slowly approached her.

Then held out the roses.

"I'm sorry."

Ishita looked at the flowers.

Then at Jay.

A few seconds later—

She smiled.

"Okay."

"I forgive you."

Relief instantly appeared on Jay's face.

"Thank God."

Then he nervously scratched his head.

"By the way..."

"After the battle..."

"Would you like to go to the amusement park with me?"

Ishita's cheeks turned slightly red.

"Yes."

"But on one condition."

Jay raised an eyebrow.

"What?"

She pointed at him.

"Don't take another roller coaster picture of me."

Jay laughed.

"I can't promise that."

Ishita immediately shouted,

"YOU—!"

Night...

India Gate

Something strange was happening around the area.

As if something huge was about to happen.

Meanwhile...

Inside HQ—

An argument was taking place in the meeting room.

Several hunters were yelling at Aditya.

"Not a single Gate opened today!"

"You said a war would happen!"

Aditya remained calm.

"Doesn't that seem strange to you?"

"Not a single Gate opened all day."

But nobody listened.

The hunters angrily started leaving the room.

Then—

BOOOOOOOM!!!

The sky above India Gate suddenly cracked open.

A gigantic Gate appeared.

HQ

WEEEEEEOOOOO!!!

The emergency sirens began blaring.

All the hunters who were leaving immediately turned around and rushed back.

Aditya climbed onto the roof of HQ.

Then shouted at the top of his lungs.

"Everyone!"

"The moment we've been waiting for..."

"Has finally arrived!"

Every hunter looked toward him.

Aditya raised his sword toward the sky.

"Today..."

"Show these demons what happens when they invade our home!"

The hunters erupted with excitement.

Cheers echoed throughout HQ.

Aditya continued,

"Inform every hunter near India Gate!"

"Get them to the battlefield immediately!"

Aditya came back down.

Then looked at Kabir and Ishita.

"Where's Jay?"

Before either of them could answer—

Ansh spoke.

"He's probably already heading toward the battlefield."

Scene Shift

Jay was sitting on top of a building.

Quietly looking over the city.

Suddenly—

His diary began glowing.

Words appeared on the page.

[An Old Enemy Is Here]

Jay's expression immediately turned serious.

He stood up.

Then jumped off the building without hesitation.

BOOM!

He landed safely on the street below.

Then—

His eyes landed on a bike parked nearby.

Written across it were the words:

ANSH CHOPRA

Jay smiled.

"Of course..."

Meanwhile—

Aditya was driving toward India Gate.

Ansh sat beside him.

Aditya glanced at him.

"Ansh."

"Send your army to the battlefield."

Ansh smiled.

"Alright."

He raised his hand.

"Summon."

WHOOSHHH!!!

Near the battlefield—

Ansh's entire army appeared.

Powerful demons.

Elite commanders.

And terrifying auras.

The surrounding hunters were stunned.

One of Ansh's commanders stepped forward.

"Sir."

"We are with you."

The hunters' confidence immediately increased.

India Gate

Millions of demons were pouring out of the gigantic Gate.

The hunters nearby tightened their grips on their weapons.

One hunter stepped forward.

"We just need to hold them off..."

"...until the others arrive."

Everyone nodded.

Then raised their weapons.

And charged toward the demon army.

Last Scene

Jay was speeding toward India Gate on Ansh's bike.

His eyes were filled with determination.

Far away—

The gigantic Gate dominated the night sky.

The message from his diary echoed inside his mind.

[An Old Enemy Is Here]

Jay tightened his grip on the handlebars.

Then quietly said,

"Whoever you are..."

"I'm ending this tonight."

The bike accelerated even faster.

The camera slowly zoomed toward the gigantic Gate.

And the countless demons pouring out of it.
