Zeke Veridian's emerald eyes narrowed, his cool voice tinged with a hoarse confusion: "I might not know much about Aetheria, but even I'm aware the Phoenix Clan is a colossus, not somewhere we can just waltz in—especially not in the dead of night."
Luna Sutton understood what he was worried about. While tying her beast skin skirt, she explained, "Mael Valerius has a childhood betrothal—the Phoenix Clan Chief's daughter, Celestia Fawkes. I don't know what lunacy possessed her, but she's been cursing me behind my back for days, and even ordered the clan's Great Witch to cast some vile curse on me. Word is, the spell will be performed on the next full moon, which gives me barely two nights to find that brat."
Upon hearing this, Zeke's expression darkened immediately. "Where did you hear this from, Luna?"
