Third persons perspective:

Lorelei stood up, stepping between Yukiri and Solene to separate them. "Sol, you have absolutely no concept of personal space, do you? And for the record, she can play."

Yukiri just stood there, caught in the middle and completely unsure of what to do with herself.

Solene looked annoyed by the interruption but let it go, tossing herself into a chair. "So, Lori, what were you talking about anyway? Some .exe stuff?"

Lorelei sighed, holding up her phone. "Yes, for our TikTok account. We're picking stage names that end in .exe. We were thinking either spark.exe or flare.exe for you. Do you have any other suggestions?"

Solene was already half listening, her attention drifting away. "Oh, yeah, sure. I'll just go with spark.exe."

Lorelei quickly tapped the name into her phone before Solene could change her mind. "Great. spark.exe it is. Try not to short circuit the amp during rehearsal."

Without missing a beat, Solene unzipped her bass case and tossed it onto a nearby chair. She plugged her bass into the amp, pulled out her phone, and instantly tuned out the rest of the room.

Lorelei rubbed her temples, staring down at the draft profile on her screen. "Okay, let's look at the progress so far, and let's all be thankful to Solene for actually being quiet for once," she said, turning the screen so Yukiri could see it. Solene just mumbled something about "How she's too tired".

void.exe

ember.exe – Lorelei the singer

moon.exe – Marcus the back co-singer

ash.exe – Kisota the keyboardist

spark.exe – Solene the bassist

.exe – Zane the drummer

.exe – Yukiri the guitarist

"We are officially more than halfway to a fully functioning social media presence," Lorelei announced, trying to pump some enthusiasm into her voice. She looked around the room. "Marcus, stop brooding. Kisota, Solene, look up from your screens for two seconds."

Marcus just sniffed, crossing his arms even tighter. "I'll stop brooding when we actually manage to play in sync. We're still missing our drummer, Lori."

"Zane will get here when he gets here," Lorelei sighed, waving her hand dismissively. She turned her full, desperate attention back to Yukiri. "Alright, Yukiri. You're the missing puzzle piece. We need a name for you, and we need something for Zane so I can just copy paste it to him before he walks through that door."

Yukiri looked around the room, feeling totally confused and overwhelmed by the absolute mess of this band. Solene was quietly singing along to something on her phone, lost in her own world; Marcus was glaring holes into the floorboards; and Kisota was completely checked out, doom scrolling through his feed.

"Uh..." Yukiri hesitated, under the pressure. "Star... something?"

Lorelei stared at her for a few seconds, exhausted, before her fingers tapped the screen. "Yeah, star.exe it is. I genuinely don't care anymore."

Right on cue, the door swung open and Zane finally showed up. He leaned against the frame"I may or may not have forgotten I had a band this school year. On a good note, I'm here."

Marcus cheered, his mood instantly flipping. "Ay! Everyone's here now! Dude, let's finally get playing!"

Solene finally looked up from her screen, a smirk crossing her face, though Kisota didn't even blink.

Lorelei spoke loudly to get everyone's attention. "Okay, listen up, phone-addicted people and dyed haired idiots! Plug your stuff in or get in place. We have an hour before the Choir Club gets here!"

Solene grabbed her bass, and yelled "Hell yeah! Now we're talking!" Kisota stretched, walking to his keyboard.

"Yo, new girl! or person, grab that guitar!"
