Chapter 43 - Dark zone pt1

The darkness hasn't let up for a day now. They've kept me on this dark box, arms bound to my chest and legs shackled to the ground. With how strong their favourite guests can be i don't think it's meant to trap us, just get us aggressive. Which would also explain the block of metal kept in here. It smells like a headache. Like just being near it is turning my brain inside out. Frankly I'm not sure how it compares to the other bits of brain damage I've suffered but it's certainly not fun. If it wasn't for these new senses I'd be taking this a lot harder. I say that like I'm not already biting at my bindings. Steel wiring is all I can taste but I'm going feral so it's worth it!!! Why did I think this was a good idea?!

"Ringers!" A voice comes from outside, heavily dampened by the several feet of steel. Her subordinate feels uncomfortable for a second before the orders overtake him, leading to him pressing a button. Devices on the floor let out a high pitched sound, one that makes it impossible to tell up from down with how disoriented it makes me. Whatever they injected into me is still coursing through my veins, it's doing a good job of limiting whatever movements I had left, which granted isn't much. At some point the door to the cell slides open before closing again. As soon as the man and woman enter my body reaches out for the wand. I can feel all of them raging more then a hundred miles away, unable to help me. But even that's enough as I feel the faint energy surrounding the chains and wires wither into the ground, returning to its source. Of course in the physical world this just looks like I broke through all my restraints to lunge at the device. My claws rip it apart in seconds.

"Get back!" I'm sure I've met this guy before. Something about the way he's holding a gun to my head just feels familiar.

"Oh come on! Let's not shoot our most esteemed guest!" Is she going to get that hair out of her mouth? Wait a second…

"Youaaa…" I point at her but my high power accusation falls flat because my jaw hasn't fought up yet. These drugs are really annoying. But still! It's her!

"It's been quite some time 476." Her tone is condescending yet clinical, nothing like the cheery personality she had all that time ago. "There's no need to worry David. You can wait outside." The man turns in slight surprise.

"Ma'am I don't think that's wise. He tore through everything we sent at him like a mad beast." I feel like I was in pretty good control of myself at the time. Or at least as much as anyone could be given the situation. But still I'm not going to go on a rampage until I get what I came for.

"Which he did while he had a biological super weapon. Without it he's not a threat." She lightly pushes him towards the door, but it's easy to see that she's not putting any real strength into it.

"Ma'am did you miss when he broke through those chains?!" The door opens and he's pushed out.

"Must have slipped my mind." A mischievous wave is all he gets as the door closes us in darkness again. She walks around the cell for a few minutes, not saying a word or even passing me so much as a glance. But she's excited, that much is obvious. And that's not all, she's like me, I'm sure of it. She hides it well, but there's only so far that you can suppress an artificial planets soul. Which to be fair how would anyone even know to do that? Not like we're that common, or that most people could see it. But like obviously we're not the same! Because I'm a good person and she isn't! And when I doomed the world it was an accident and oh no I'm a monster. I've ruined everyone's lives because of a stupid ego trip! No no no no no! Don't think about that right now! She can sense that!

"The atlasite doesn't affect you too much does it?" I feel like my heart just skipped a beat. "But it does still affect you. Kaiju children already have a great resistance to the effects, you'd barley notice them without the locked room. But we're both unique cases. Even now I can feel rage clawing at the back of my mind. But if I'm more susceptible to it, your less. Aren't you lucky?" I don't feel lucky. "But…" all of a sudden she grabs me by the throat and slams me into the wall. "Luck has to run out eventually." Tiny bolts of electricity run up and down her arm, becoming the only source of light in the room. "I don't know why you came here, but this isn't a hotel." She hisses into my ear. "We're going to rip you open and get that power you seem so reluctant to enjoy." She finally drops me. I cough violently as body still thinks it need to breath. Why do I know that?

"I'm bringing this whole place down. Every last inch of this sick experiment." I hiss back at her with all my conviction. She just smiles that same stupid annoying smile.

"No you won't. You say things like that so that nobody realises how scared and weak you really are. Your one of the most powerful being on the planet yet you still have the bravado of a weakling." She walks out of the room with a casual cheeriness that makes it seem like we had a sleepover. I don't think I've ever been to a sleepover before. "You first surgery is at eleven tomorrow. Get some sleep little buddy, you might need to die for the cause. And the the door shuts.
