The Netherworld
The sky was no longer the serene golden hue it once had.
Instead, it had become a bizarre, multicolored distortion, as if reality itself were melting. Countless jelly-like crystals floated through the air, drifting silently through space.
Three flashes of light streaked across the plaza.
Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan appeared in front of King Yemma's Palace.
"Is this… the Netherworld?" Gohan asked, frowning as he took in the strange scenery.
Vegeta scanned the surroundings, his expression cold.
"Hmph. What a mess."
Just then, a figure stumbled out from behind a massive crystal in the distance, tumbling forward before crashing heavily onto the ground.
It was Pikkon.
He was covered in wounds, his aura faint and unstable.
"Hey! Are you alright?!" Goku shouted as he rushed over.
Seeing reinforcements arrive, the tension in Pikkon's eyes finally eased.
"Finally… help has arrived!"
"What exactly happened?" Goku asked urgently.
Pikkon gasped for breath and pointed toward a chubby figure floating in the distance, laughing eerily.
"It's that guy."
"The Soul Cleansing Device accidentally exploded. All the evil thoughts of the dead throughout the universe converged… and gave birth to that monster."
"He can twist reality itself. Almost any attack is useless against him, and—"
Before Pikkon could finish, the chubby monster noticed the newcomers and floated over curiously.
He tilted his head and grinned.
"Ya~hoo~"
"Kakarot, stop wasting time!" Vegeta roared, golden ki erupting violently around him.
Super Saiyan Two!
"I'll take care of this trash!"
He shot forward like a bolt of lightning and slammed his fist into the monster's face.
But there was no impact.
The monster's face caved in like soft dough, perfectly dispersing the force. With a soft pop, it bounced right back to normal.
Vegeta froze.
The monster tilted its head, clearly amused, then extended a chubby finger and gently poked Vegeta.
In an instant, countless tiny Vegetas appeared all over his body, laughing and shouting as they swarmed him.
"Get lost! All of you—get lost!" Vegeta roared, violently dispersing the illusions.
"Gohan, let's go together!" Goku said, his expression turning serious.
"Yes, Dad!"
Gohan's aura erupted as father and son charged forward side by side.
"Kamehameha!"
Two powerful energy waves blasted toward the monster from opposite directions.
The monster grinned and traced a circle in the air with his hands. A colorful energy sphere formed instantly, swallowing both attacks with ease.
Then he puffed his cheeks and blew.
The energy ball shot back like a bubble of doom.
Boom—!!!
The explosion sent Goku and Gohan flying.
"Damn it!" Vegeta snarled as he regained his balance, his face grim.
"This ability makes brute force useless."
"We need to destroy him in a single blow—something that exceeds his endurance limit," Goku said, wiping blood from the corner of his mouth.
The three exchanged a glance, instantly understanding each other.
Goku and Gohan rose into the air, hands cupped at their waists.
"Ka—me—ha—me—ha—!"
Vegeta spread his arms wide, purple lightning crackling in his palms.
"Final—Flash!"
Three world-shaking energies merged into a devastating torrent, surging toward the grinning monster.
The entire Netherworld trembled.
The monster's body twisted violently under the overwhelming power, letting out a shrill scream.
Finally—
Boom!
He exploded in the center of the light.
"Did it work?" Gohan asked, panting.
The smoke cleared.
A new figure stood there.
Gone was the chubby, childlike form.
In its place stood a tall, crimson demon with two horns and icy, malevolent eyes. His presence alone crushed the air with suffocating pressure—hundreds of times stronger than before.
Final Form — Janemba.
"ROAR—!!!"
Janemba vanished instantly.
"So fast!" Goku's eyes widened.
Pfft!
Blood sprayed from Goku's chest.
Janemba reappeared behind him, holding a sword forged from fractured space itself.
"Be careful!" Pikkon shouted.
"Kakarot!" Vegeta roared, surging forward.
Janemba casually swung his sword backward.
An invisible slash tore through space.
Vegeta's charge stopped dead.
A deep, bone-cutting wound opened across his chest.
"This… this guy…" Vegeta muttered in disbelief.
Seeing the crisis, Gohan let his bangs fall and instantly entered his Mystic Form. He poured all his power into a single punch, striking Janemba's back.
But Janemba's body turned illusory.
Gohan's fist passed straight through.
Afterimage?!
No—!
Alarm bells rang in Gohan's mind.
Janemba's spatial sword swept sideways.
Clang!
In a flash, Goku appeared in front of Gohan, blocking the blade with his arm.
The impact sent both father and son flying.
The three regrouped, bruised and battered, their ki unstable.
The enemy was overwhelming—speed, power, and that sword that ignored defenses entirely.
Janemba vanished again.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Explosions echoed as the battle raged on. Despite their combined efforts, Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan were steadily forced back.
"Damn it! At this rate, he'll wear us down!" Vegeta growled.
"We have to find a way…" Goku muttered as he narrowly dodged another spatial slash.
Suddenly, a memory surfaced.
"I've got it!" Goku shouted.
"Vegeta! Do you remember the Fusion Dance?!"
"What?!" Vegeta snapped, his face twisting in disgust.
"You want me to do those ridiculous movements with you?!"
"I'd rather die than humiliate myself like that!"
"This isn't the time for pride!" Goku yelled.
"If this continues, not just the Netherworld—the entire universe will collapse!"
Vegeta clenched his fists.
"…Hmph. Just this once."
"Kakarot, don't screw this up."
Goku grinned. "Alright!"
They separated, taking position as Gohan and Pikkon watched tensely.
Vegeta's face flushed crimson as they assumed the starting pose.
"Ready—!" Goku shouted.
"Hoo—!"
They moved in perfect sync.
"Ha!"
Arms extended, knees bent, movements flawless.
"Hoo—!"
"Ha!"
Their fingertips met.
A blinding white light exploded outward, engulfing everything.
A terrifying aura—unprecedented and supreme—was born.
When the light faded…
A new warrior stood before Janemba.
Orange-and-black fusion vest. Calm confidence. A composed smile.
Gogeta had descended.
Janemba roared and brought his spatial sword crashing down.
Gogeta calmly raised two fingers.
Clang!
The blade stopped—caught effortlessly.
Shock flashed across Janemba's face.
"Is that all you've got?" Gogeta asked.
Crack.
The sword shattered.
"Then…" Gogeta smiled. "My turn."
He vanished.
The next instant, his fist slammed into Janemba's abdomen.
Boom—!!!
Janemba flew backward, smashing through countless jelly crystals.
Before he could recover, Gogeta appeared behind him.
Elbows. Knees. Roundhouse kicks.
A relentless storm of attacks crushed Janemba without mercy.
Finally, Gogeta drove him straight into the ground.
Rumble—!
The Netherworld shook violently.
Gogeta floated down, standing at the edge of the crater, looking at Janemba below.
He raised his right hand.
A radiant, multicolored energy sphere formed in his palm, glowing with sacred power.
Soul Punisher.
"Your evil ends here," Gogeta said calmly.
"Disappear."
He released the attack.
The energy engulfed Janemba completely.
"AAAH—!!!"
Janemba screamed as his evil essence dissolved like snow under sunlight.
As Janemba was purified, the Netherworld began to heal.
The colorful crystals turned into starlight and faded away.
King Yemma's Palace was restored.
Order returned.
Peace, at last, reclaimed the Netherworld.
