After a long time, Sophie could finally have Eugene back for herself. With Arthur busy making up for his absence because of the rut, and Hannah no longer getting clingy as a form of revenge, Eugene had a bit of free time before he took another translation project from the publishing company.
Right away, she took Eugene out for brunch while waiting for their kids to finish school. Naturally, she wanted to know the aftermath of Arthur's rut episode. How could she not be curious when Eugene was calling her just before heading out to war?
"That I'm fine," Eugene shrugged. "It seemed my body was self-lubricated enough."
Sophie almost spewed her hibiscus tea before arching her brow. "You?"
"I asked him to shower me with his pheromone," Eugene told her, nonchalantly eating his croissant in between his unfiltered information dump. "Turned out my body could still recognize it in large amounts, even if my nose couldn't."
