"You didn't tell her about tomorrow's cooking class?" Arthur asked as he took his bathroom kit out of his backpack.
"I want to surprise her tomorrow--isn't it more exciting that way?" Eugene shrugged. He put down the sparkling lemonade he had made while Arthur was in the bathroom and paused, a spark of mischief flashed in his eyes. "Also..."
Arthur lifted his head from the plate of vegetable fritters he was about to snack on, staring at the omega inquisitively.
Eugene snickered. "I didn't want her to get overly excited now, couldn't fall asleep because of it, and then got a fever in the morning."
"Urk!" Arthur clutched his chest. "Felt like a jab."
"She's your daughter, after all."
Arthur blinked slowly, the words spinning in his head like a jolly merry-go-round. He propped his cheeks against the table and giggled quietly.
