Chapter 295 - Chapter 295: The Fear Dominated by Banners

Chapter 295: The Fear Dominated by Banners

After Orochimaru left, the situation of the Mist Village's internal conflict in the distance gradually became clear.

Fuguki Suikazan still wasn't a match for Hangetsu Hozuki, but Hangetsu couldn't withstand the sheer number of people on Fuguki's side. Fuguki gradually gained the upper hand, heavily injuring Hangetsu at the cost of light injuries to himself.

Mangetsu Hozuki threw off Kisame and supported his father, while Kisame retreated behind Fuguki Suikazan.

"Hangetsu Hozuki, during the battle for the Mizukage position back then, if it weren't for some inexplicable bastard interfering, how could it have been your turn!" Fuguki Suikazan shouted.

"Another one for the little notebook," Masahiko muttered from afar.

"This time, because of your blind decision, the village suffered heavy casualties. You are no longer fit to be Mizukage! Since you refuse to step down voluntarily, let me help you."

Despite his heavy injuries, Hangetsu Hozuki showed no fear, his face full of disdain. "Attacking the Land of Whirlpools was unanimously agreed upon by all of you. At a time like this, pushing all the blame onto me is nothing more than fearing that the old immortal of the Land of Whirlpools will come to settle accounts!"

"Little notebook... another one."

Hangetsu Hozuki pushed away his eldest son's support and continued, "Even if I have to step down from the Mizukage position, I will not hand it over to a bastard like you!"

Fuguki Suikazan also stepped forward. "The Mizukage position prioritizes strength. In the current Mist Village, who is more suitable than me!"

The wielder of the twin swords Hiramekarei had died in the previous war, and a successor hadn't been chosen yet. As the sole remaining member of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen, Fuguki Suikazan's ego had inflated.

As someone once said: To make a man perish, first let his ego inflate...

A kunai thrust from an unexpected angle by an unexpected person sent the unexpected Fuguki Suikazan... crashing down.

With the kunai piercing his back right through his heart, he didn't even get to say the words "It was actually you" before collapsing to the ground.

"Lord Fuguki!"

"How dare you!"

"Kisame, you bastard!"

...

In the distance, Masahiko watched all this unfold with a surprised expression.

"He played this Infernal Affairs game really well, not a single sign beforehand."

He patted Kimimaro's head. This head-patting action was toxic... he was getting a bit addicted.

Especially when the little boy showed that same look of enjoyment the Fat Cat used to have when it was a kitten under his touch, it felt incredibly satisfying...

"God, why are those people fighting among themselves?"

"Probably... for poetry and the distant horizon."

Masahiko didn't know either, but as an omniscient God, he had to give an answer.

It wasn't until dozens of ninjas suddenly appeared and surrounded and killed all of Fuguki Suikazan's subordinates except Kisame that the situation gradually became clear.

A middle-aged man who looked like a villain at first glance walked out with a sinister smile. "Kisame Hoshigaki, beautifully done."

Carrying Samehada, Kisame retreated behind him.

"Fuguki Suikazan sold the village's intelligence to the Land of Whirlpools during wartime, and has been executed by me!"

"Selling intelligence?" Hangetsu Hozuki revealed a mocking smile. "You finally showed yourself. I was wondering how long you were going to hide!"

"It seems you were prepared. That bastard Ao isn't here; you sent him to find Yagura, didn't you? No need to wait, Yagura isn't coming!" The middle-aged man smiled smugly.

"It's over. A villain's looks, a villain's style, villainous dialogue, plus the fact that I've never seen him before—this villain is about to bite the dust too." Masahiko explained softly, leaving Kimimaro completely bewildered.

"Yagura? I knew you would have someone stop him." Hangetsu Hozuki shook his head, then shouted loudly, "Do it! The Mist Village cannot continue in this chaos!"

"Lava Release: Melting Apparition Technique!"

Accompanied by an enchanting female voice, the ninjas behind the middle-aged villain were hit by a massive wave of corrosive lava.

The middle-aged man's face instantly changed, and he hurriedly used Body Flicker to escape. Under this single ninjutsu, his subordinates suffered heavy casualties.

"Mei Terumi! Didn't your clan say they wouldn't participate in the fight for Mizukage? Moreover, we are both Kekkei Genkai clans..."

"Boil Release: Skilled Mist Technique!"

...

"Mei Terumi, finally seeing her. She looks like a young girl."

In the original story, Mei Terumi's first appearance was at the Five Kage Summit, looking like a mature older sister.

But it was only Konoha Year 53 now; she was merely a girl who had just turned twenty.

"Her strength is quite impressive, though..."

Under Mei Terumi's large-scale Kekkei Genkai ninjutsu attacks, the small fries were quickly cleared out.

Kisame remained expressionless, using Samehada to block mouthful after mouthful of Mei Terumi's lava.

"My Lord, let's break out."

The middle-aged man was unwilling but knew it was a lost cause. "Kisame, hold off Mei Terumi."

Kisame's dead-fish eyes narrowed slightly. "No problem."

The middle-aged man gathered his few remaining subordinates. Before leaving, he didn't forget to drop a harsh line. "Mei Terumi, you are offending all of our Kekkei Genkai clans..."

Before he could finish, he was interrupted by Mei Terumi. "Oh? A Kekkei Genkai clan without a single Kekkei Genkai ninja?"

In the distance, Masahiko wore a strange expression. He finally realized what felt incongruous.

It was clearly an internal conflict sparked by Kekkei Genkai clans, yet only one Kekkei Genkai ninja, Mei Terumi, had appeared, and she was standing against them.

The major Kekkei Genkai clans of the Mist Village were originally the Kaguya, Yuki, and Hozuki. Now, the Kaguya and Yuki had basically perished, and the Hozuki only had the father and sons trio of Hangetsu, Mangetsu, and Suigetsu left. These small Kekkei Genkai clans that had been suppressed all along couldn't hold back and jumped out, but the funny thing was that not a single ninja in their current generation had awakened their Kekkei Genkai.

Mocked by Mei Terumi, the middle-aged man's face flushed red, but escaping was more important. He glanced at Kisame, signaling him to bring up the rear, and turned to leave.

Kisame, however, revealed a sinister smile, grabbed the man by his back collar with one hand, and threw him toward Mei Terumi.

"A triple agent?!" Masahiko was full of surprise. He didn't expect Kisame to have this talent.

"Oh? I guess not."

Ignoring everyone's shock, Kisame took advantage of the chaos, used Body Flicker to escape, and fled toward the outskirts of the Mist Village.

Faced with the sudden turn of events, the middle-aged man didn't even have time to react before he melted right in front of Mei Terumi.

"A decisive man." Watching Kisame flee rapidly, Mei Terumi muttered, "It's a pity he's too ugly. Chase him!"

"God, they are coming our way." Kimimaro tugged at Masahiko's sleeve.

"Mm, I see it. This good show is about over, it's our turn to take the stage."

Watching Kisame fleeing rapidly toward him, Masahiko revealed a peculiar smile.

"Let's go." Masahiko grabbed Kimimaro and jumped down from the tree.

Kisame also noticed the two, but he didn't recognize Masahiko. "Remnants of the Kaguya? Get out of the way!"

He swung Samehada, signaling that if Masahiko dared to block him, he would attack directly.

Masahiko looked heartbroken. "Shark-faced bro, long time no see, and you treat me like this?"

Kisame's dead-fish eyes rolled back, and he hit the emergency brakes.

At this moment, he once again recalled the fear of being dominated by banners.
