Chapter 582: Super Saiyan Bloodline Awakens
"Worororo!"
"That's more like it! Now this looks like a fight that can kill me!"
Kaido grabbed a snapped lamppost nearby and casually crushed it into a bent iron club. He cast a disdainful sideways glance at Cull Obsidian.
"Stay out of my way for now, idiot."
Cull didn't reply, merely forcing a savage, low growl from his throat. The two monsters, who had been trying to tear each other apart just moments ago, tacitly charged at Hela at the exact same time.
Kaido shifted into his Hybrid Form. High-tier Armament Haki and Conqueror's Haki tightly coiled around his pitch-black scales. From the other side, Cull Obsidian dragged his massive axe, launching a wild, sweeping charge.
Hela raised her hand coldly. A torrential rain of purple-black blades fell.
Kaido plunged headlong, brutally smashing through three black blades, only for a fourth to carve a bone-deep gash across his chest. Instead of retreating, he surged forward, his iron club carrying a devastating, domineering force as it smashed toward the top of Hela's head. Meanwhile, Cull's axe tore through the ground, striking viciously at Hela's waist from below.
Hela stepped aside, calmly evading Kaido's club, and backhanded a blade straight through Cull Obsidian's shoulder. Purple light exploded. Cull was blasted backward, crashing through two heavy armored vehicles.
Kaido's iron club finally landed with a heavy thud. Hela caught it forcefully with her left arm. A sharp, ear-piercing crack echoed from her arm bones, and a trail of black blood trickled from the corner of her mouth.
Kaido's eyes lit up, and he laughed maniacally. "So even a monster like you can feel pain!"
Hela's eyes turned icy. She kicked viciously at Kaido's abdomen, and devastating purple energy erupted from the tip of her boot.
Kaido's massive body was launched backward like a cannonball, smashing through the exterior walls of three buildings before embedding himself deep inside a bank lobby. Through the thick dust, his increasingly excited, maniacal laughter echoed.
"Exhilarating! Again!"
Suspended in mid-air, Shiki had completely run out of patience. His crimson Mangekyo Sharingan spun frantically, the complex patterns expanding like sharp blades.
"Ame-no-Ohabari!"
The gravity across the entire city block crashed down with crushing force. The ground beneath Hela instantly caved in by several meters. The falling momentum of the sky-filling purple blades was forcibly slowed.
Shiki threw both hands up, redirecting all the remaining fragments of the Dark Aster. They transformed into an airtight downpour of steel, raining frantically down upon Hela.
"My floating fortress isn't for a crazy bitch like you to play with!"
Ebony Maw cast a cold glance at Shiki, surprisingly withholding his usual mockery. Without hesitation, he joined the siege. His powerful telekinesis seized the steel fragments, recalibrating them into the most lethal trajectories. Ronan swung his war hammer frantically, smashing the residual purple light left by the Power Stone straight at Hela.
The Avengers fought desperately on the ground to evacuate civilians. Thor focused on shattering any lethal purple blades that slipped through the net. Tony dragged his smoking armor into the air, using his repulsors strictly on the ground beneath Hela, abandoning any hope of injuring her directly.
There were too many enemies. Too many lunatics.
But in that moment, everyone was crystal clear on one thing: they absolutely could not let Hela maintain her grip on the Power Stone.
Standing like a god at the epicenter of all the attacks, Hela had completely grasped the core of The Orb. The violent purple light crawled up her arm to her shoulder, rapidly spreading to her chest. The air behind her began to warp eerily as pitch-black spikes slowly rose from the void.
The street split entirely. The power of her Death Magic and the Power Stone interwoven perfectly, reconstructing a towering throne amidst the ruins that belonged solely to her.
Thor's face turned extremely grim when he saw the phantom of that throne. It was the old throne from the deepest part of the Asgardian palace, the one Odin had personally sealed away. It belonged to war. It belonged to conquest. It belonged to Hela.
Before sitting down, Hela raised her head high, looking down at Shiki, Ebony Maw, and everyone else still daring to stand.
"Now. It's time for you to kneel."
The purple-black throne pressed down upon the center of the New York ruins. Sitting upon it, Hela held the Power Stone in her right hand and rested her left on the armrest, as if returning to her most familiar position. The conqueror's position.
The former crown princess, sealed away by Odin, now greedily reveled in her regained authority. The terrifying pressure she exuded made even the surrounding space groan under the weight. This calamitous aura, capable of destroying an entire nation on a whim, was enough for anyone to classify her as a supreme hazard that must be eradicated.
The purple light crawled from her arm up to her neck. Her skin constantly cracked, only to be forcibly stitched back together by black divine power. The Power Stone was consuming her, and she was consuming it.
The sight made Ronan's face turn a sickly green. The Kree warmonger, renowned for his iron blood and massacres, was now filled with resentment and jealousy. He had believed that he was the one most deserving of the Power Stone. Now, he knelt on the shattered pavement, his chest armor cracked, coughing up large mouthfuls of blood.
He didn't want to kneel. He was simply crushed by the purple-black energy, unable to stand.
Ebony Maw fared no better. As a typically elegant, lofty judge, he had never experienced such suffocating suppression. His suspended debris could have easily shredded an army, but now, the moment those rocks neared Hela's throne, the purple-black light waves ground them into dust. Several tears appeared in his robes. His eternally superior expression finally cracked.
Tony Stark lay behind a halved bus, his chest arc reactor flickering. "J.A.R.V.I.S., tell me, is there any scientific explanation for her current state?"
J.A.R.V.I.S. paused. "Sir, I recommend conceptualizing it as an ancient war queen who has just acquired the remote control to a nuclear arsenal."
Tony gasped for air. "Great. That explanation isn't comforting at all."
Captain America held up his shield, shielding the last group of civilians retreating into the subway. His arm was shaking. Not from fear, but because the Vibranium shield had just blocked a stray purple-black blade, and the impact made his bones ache. He looked at Thor, who was staring fixedly at Hela.
This wasn't just a regular enemy. This was his sister. The sin Asgard had tried to hide, and the catastrophe he now had to face.
Loki knelt by the street, the Tesseract in his arms cracked in several places. The blue light cut his palms, blood dripping through his fingers. He hated pain. He hated being dragged into the chessboard of monsters like Thanos, Odin, and Hela even more. But he couldn't let go.
"Kneel," Hela commanded from her throne. Her voice wasn't loud, but it suppressed the entire street into silence for a breath. "Kneel before your true king."
Kaido walked out of the bank ruins. The Beast Governor, who ran rampant across the seas, had nothing but boiling, absolute brutality in his eyes right now. He had thrown whatever rules applied to a 'tavern security guard' completely out the window.
His shirt was shredded. The axe wound on his shoulder was still bleeding. The bloody hole in his abdomen from the purple blast hadn't fully healed. The broken dragon horn made him look even more ragged. Yet, he wiped the blood from his mouth, his face brimming with excitement.
"You want me to kneel?"
Kaido grabbed his tattered shirt and violently ripped it to shreds.
"Who the hell do you think you are! You're not fit to play king in front of me!"
The Saiyan bloodline within him—obtained from the Namek dungeon—finally ignited completely amidst his near-death state and fury. A golden aura exploded from beneath his feet, sending street rubble flying. Kaido's muscles swelled once more, black dragon scales surfacing across his back and shoulders.
Demon Dragon Hybrid Form. Super Saiyan aura. Conqueror's Haki.
Several powers that had no business being in the same body were now forcibly twisted together. Kaido's strategy was simple: Endure. Smash through. If she doesn't die, smash her again.
