Chapter 147 - Chapter 147: Mihawk Upscale

Doflamingo hated him.

Jaeger—revered by nations, fawned over by princesses and concubines, showered in gold like rain from the heavens.

A guest of hundreds of countries that once bowed only to the World Government. Even the Navy, who once looked down on him, now bent like dogs at his feet.

Sengoku. Dead.

Garp. Gone.

Aokiji. Crippled and defected.

All because of Jaeger.

Yet the Navy didn't dare lift a finger against him. Instead, they vented their frustration by destroying the underground empire Doflamingo had built in blood.

Doflamingo's envy festered like rot. He hated Jaeger, loathed him to the bone. He resented Kei Karuizawa even more.

Why? Why should a dog raised by Jaeger—a girl with no name or nobility—eat Logia and Mythical Zoan Fruits?

He ground his teeth.

"Shouldn't that kind of power belong to someone like me?"

With rage burning in his chest, Doflamingo launched a whip of razor-sharp threads infused with Armament Haki, lashing it toward Karuizawa with terrifying speed.

The sheer force of the attack tore through the earth, slicing buildings in half like paper. The destructive energy dwarfed even Crocodile's sandstorms.

He grinned. Confident. She was just a brat who thought herself untouchable after eating a Logia fruit. She'd never survive a serious strike from him.

But what happened next froze the grin on his face.

The whip didn't tear through flesh and bone. Instead, the moment it touched Karuizawa's body, it ignited in black lightning, sizzling and crackling with divine heat.

The Armament Haki-infused threads melted on contact, disintegrating in an instant.

"…What…?"

Doflamingo's eyes widened behind his tinted shades. For a moment, his thoughts aligned with Gion's earlier suspicion—was everything they knew about Armament Haki and Logia types a lie?

No. That couldn't be. When he'd fought Crocodile, his Haki worked just fine.

So the problem wasn't with Haki.

It was her.

That girl wasn't normal.

"You're Doflamingo, right?" Kei asked, her tone almost bored.

"Your strength… it's disappointing. You only shine when bullying the weak. But the moment you face someone strong, you fold."

Doflamingo's face twisted. "What did you say!? Are you calling me weak!?"

"Of course I am," she interrupted with a smirk. "Saint Jaeger told me about you. Said you were once a Celestial Dragon—now just a stray mutt."

Her smile darkened.

"You can't even recognize a Noble Phantasm and mistake it for a Logia Fruit. You're pathetic. A joke. Do you really think trash like you deserves to be in the same class as Saint Jaeger?"

His composure cracked.

"...…"

That single word—stray dog—shattered Doflamingo's pride. His shoulders shook, veins bulged on his forehead, and his breath turned ragged with fury.

"ME? A DOG!? I'LL MAKE YOU WISH YOU WERE DEAD!"

His scream tore through the air like a wild beast's howl. An oppressive wave of Conqueror's Haki exploded outward, knocking civilians unconscious in droves.

His body trembled, threads erupting from his hands. Even the ground beneath him unraveled into strings.

In that moment—on this battlefield—he awakened his Devil Fruit.

But Kei? She didn't flinch. She wasn't trained, wasn't a battle-hardened warrior.

She was just an ordinary girl, thrust into extraordinary power by Jaeger's hand.

She didn't even know what "awakening" meant. Or what Haki really stood for. She didn't need to.

All she needed was her Noble Phantasm—a divine gift from Jaeger.

A brick in one hand, and the heavens in the other.

"I am the lightning that tears apart the stars—(low budget version)."

A spear of black lightning formed in her hand, pulsating with unholy power. Kei raised it with the grace of someone completely untrained, and threw it like a schoolgirl tossing a javelin in gym class.

And yet—

"ZZZKRAKAAAAA—!!"

The sky split open. Thunder roared like gods in battle. Black bolts fell like divine punishment, shattering the awakened strings beneath Doflamingo's feet and swallowing him whole in a tempest of destruction.

Within moments, the battlefield was scorched, cracked, and silent.

Only a charred husk remained.

Kei blinked, then gasped.

"Crap! They told me not to kill these guys! Saint Jaeger needs them to forge Noble Phantasms! Don't tell me… I just fried Doflamingo into ash!?"

Panicked, she waved away the remaining thunder. The black storm receded, revealing a still-smoking figure twitching on the ground.

"…Still breathing. Phew."

Kei sighed in relief, crouching beside the unconscious ex-Celestial Dragon.

"Not very strong, but I'll give him this—he can take a hit. As Saint Jaeger's loyal dog, I nearly messed up big time."

She gently patted her own head as if punishing herself.

"I must reflect properly."

Elsewhere, on the main battlefield…

Ivankov was the first to fall. Caught between Akainu's magma and Kaido's war club, the revolutionary was smashed into the earth. Bloodied, broken but alive. Barely.

But he had done his part.

Burning through years of life using hormone injections, he had pushed Dragon beyond his limits. Wind howled. Lightning cracked. The very weather raged with Dragon's fury.

And so, the Revolution's true leader rose like a storm, clashing violently against Kaido and Akainu—two monsters, one god of war.

Meanwhile, beyond Loguetown, where the sea had frozen under Esdeath's might…

A titan loomed.

Douglas Bullet, fused with ships and icebergs through his Fusion Fruit, now towered half the size of an island. His blows shattered glaciers, sending shockwaves across the entire ocean.

And yet, against him stood Scathach, the Queen of Shadows.

Where most would flee from such a colossus, she laughed.

This was bliss.

A worthy giant, not unlike the ones she once slaughtered in the Age of Gods. She weaved between Bullet's mountain-sized fists, her crimson spear puncturing his massive frame with surgical precision.

"Magnificent!" she cried, eyes shining with battle-lust. "You'd be a King of Giants in the old world! What a fine gift you'll make for Jaeger!"

Each stab was a symphony. Each dodge, a dance.

The ice cracked. The heavens rumbled. Bullet roared in rage but Scathach only grinned wider.

In the group chat Everyone watched the live feeds—Kei's overwhelming lightning, Scathach's dance with a titan, and Jaeger's quiet oversight as Kaido and Akainu clashed with Dragon.

It was chaos. It was theater. It was war at its most beautiful.

[Chat Group]

Uchiha Miyuki: "I couldn't stand it just now... Red-Hair and Bucky lost to Yamato, Crocodile got crushed by Esdeath-senpai, and Doflamingo... sigh, he fell even harder than in the original timeline. Kei scolded him so harshly it broke his character... Looks like His Highness Jaeger's going to collect another batch of Noble Phantasms."

Esdeath: "Crocodile, strong? Don't joke. He claimed he could go toe-to-toe with Bullet and even Rayleigh? You're not serious, are you? I watched Scathach's private livestream.

Esdeath: Bullet is ridiculous—a pure monster, not even on the same level as Crocodile."

Yamamoto Mei: "…It's true. I also can't understand it. Crocodile always seemed... underwhelming. Maybe Bullet wasn't proficient in Armament Haki back then?"

Jibril: "I'm watching Scathach's stream too. Bullet transformed into this colossal war beast, stabbed all over, leaking blood from a thousand wounds... and he still fought like nothing happened—more ferocious even.

Jibril: So yeah, how the hell did Crocodile manage to fight him evenly? A Sand Fruit user like him shouldn't stand a chance."

Uchiha Miyuki: "Wait, don't kill Crocodile yet, okay?! I really want to know—is he a man or a woman?! Please!"

Esdeath: "...This is Jaeger's world. I only take orders from him. If he says Crocodile's a girl, then Crocodile is a girl."

Jaeger: "Hmm... Gender, huh? In the original story, Ivankov did say he knew a massive secret about Crocodile, something he could use to blackmail him.

Jaeger: Considering Ivankov's background as the Newkama Queen, Crocodile likely has some gender-related secret. Possibly a woman—or a man who's unaware of their altered identity."

Uchiha Miyuki: "Then why not just make Crocodile a woman, Your Highness? I always imagined 'Crocodile' as a woman in my past life. She'd definitely be a beauty!"

Jaeger:"..."

Kasumigaoka Utaha:"As expected of an Uchiha pervert. Your imagination never fails to impress."

Kasumigaoka Utaha:"Anyway, let's talk about that Dragon. Pretty damn strong. Storms, lightning, weather control... Could it be that his Devil Fruit awakened? Like Doflamingo's did with the String-String Fruit, where he could turn the environment into threads?"

Uchiha Miyuki:"Possibly. But I still don't know what type Dragon's fruit is. Is it a Mythical Zoan, a Logia... or something else entirely? The manga never really clarified it before I Reincarnated."

Yamamoto Mei: "I doubt it's a Zoan. He never takes on beast-like forms. And it's not Logia either—he doesn't phase into elements. Maybe a Paramecia-type with insane weather manipulation?"

Jaeger: "That's plausible."

Jaeger:"...Oh?"

Uchiha Miyuki:"Hawkeye... The world's future strongest swordsman in the original One Piece timeline. Esdeath and Scathach forgot about him—so now he's bored, no opponents to challenge."

Jibril:"Wait... he's coming straight for Jaeger? This swordsman brat has a death wish, huh?"

Eriri Sawamura:"Maybe he thinks that if he defeats the king, he wins the game. Go straight for the boss, take out Jaeger?"

Yamamoto Mei:"No, it's not that. Hawkeye's like Unohana. Sword-obsessed. If he hears the song of a supreme blade, he'll chase it no matter the cost. I think that 'god avoid' just now hooked him."

Uchiha Miyuki:"god avoid... The sword that made even Retsu Unohana, who's meditated on the blade for over a thousand years, despair! The blade that was made from the Pirate King... He must've noticed something."

Ignoring the flashy battles of Akainu, Kaido, and Dragon, with their stunning effects and devastating powers, Hawkeye advanced toward Jaeger—step by step—eyes locked on the gleaming golden sword that had just killed Gol D. Roger.

He wasn't just watching a technique. He saw truth in that sword—a path beyond comprehension.

If I don't experience that sword for myself… I'll regret it forever.

He stopped at the base of the execution platform, gazing up.

"I challenge you, Celestial Dragon Saint Jaeger!" he declared, voice sharp and resolute.

"Let me feel the sword that felled the Pirate King. Even if it kills me—I won't regret it!"

Kaido, still locked in battle with Dragon's flame breath, heard the voice. His gaze flicked toward the source and he exploded in rage.

"That damn swordsman brat dares to challenge Saint Jaeger while I'm fighting? Has he no sense of hierarchy?! I won't let you even get close to him!"

With a roar, Kaido slammed his kanabo down, forcing Dragon back. Then, faster than Hawkeye could react, the Thunder Beast appeared behind him.

The spiked club surged with Conqueror's Haki, thick with crackling black-red lightning—Conqueror's Armament Fusion.

Hawkeye turned—too late.

He instinctively drew Yoru, coating it with Armament Haki to guard his body.

But

BOOM!

The blow struck Yoru directly, sending an explosive shockwave through the air. The supreme blade absorbed most of the impact, but not enough.

The force crushed down on Hawkeye's body.

Pain tore through his muscles, bones shattered from shoulder to ribs to knees. Blood spilled from his mouth, his stance broken.

He collapsed to one knee, the sword trembling in his hand.

"Who the hell did you just say you wanted to challenge, brat?!"

Kaido loomed over him, eyes blazing, voice thunderous.
