Viona's POV
I ran a hand through my hair while the other gripped my phone tightly, trying to call Rodrique again.
It was useless.
I clicked my tongue in frustration when he still refused to answer after the fifth call.
My chest had felt tight ever since he messaged me that my father was there.
"Oh God! Where is he? Why won't he answer? Damn it!"
I slammed the phone onto my lap and rubbed both hands over my face before staring out the car window restlessly.
The winter morning roads were still fairly empty, but even with Jane pushing her Porsche as fast as she could, it still felt painfully slow to me.
We were still an hour away from home.
"It's possible Rodrique is already in the middle of a confrontation with your father right now," Jane said while keeping her eyes on the road. "Why don't you just call Rafael? He should already be awake by now, right?"
