Chapter 337 - Chapter 337: Grodd of Gorilla City!

Chapter 337: Grodd of Gorilla City!

The Gorillas' Power

An adult gorilla can reach a height of 1.8 meters and a weight of 180 kilograms. Due to a different muscle composition, its strength is about ten times that of a human.

The mutant gorillas in the sewers are different from ordinary gorillas. They grew up in Gorilla City, constantly exposed to meteor radiation, which fundamentally changed their bodies and minds.

They possess intelligence no less than that of humans and physical strength far exceeding that of ordinary gorillas.

The residents of Gorilla City generally stand over 1.9 meters tall, with the strongest reaching 2.5 meters. Dense muscle grants them powerful strength and physical defense. They can easily lift a one-ton truck and fight fearlessly under heavy gunfire.

With superior strength and higher intelligence, the residents of Gorilla City widely believe that their bloodline is superior to that of humans. A small faction of extremists even believes that they, not the cowardly and cunning humans, should be the masters of Earth.

Grodd is the leader of this faction.

He is the son of Gorilla City's ruler. After preaching extremist ideologies within the city, he was exiled by his father and began a nomadic life. Later, with the help of his comrades, he settled in Central City, establishing a secret laboratory in the sewers.

Initially, everything went smoothly. The Gorilla City scientists, through persistent effort, had made preliminary research into an agent that could transform humans into gorillas. The appearance of The Flash broke this balance. That meddling fool seemed to have noticed the disappearances in Central City and started investigating, which greatly displeased Grodd. To preempt any potential trouble, he decided to strike first, cooperating with Central City's notorious criminals, Captain Cold and Peak Man, to deliver a heavy blow to The Flash.

Although he didn't kill The Flash, Grodd felt it was sufficient. Yet, he never expected that just days later, his base would be attacked.

Hearing the alarm, Grodd, who was sleeping, stood up quickly and barked at the guard who rushed in,

"Who is the intruder? The Flash?"

"Not him, sir. It's three terrifying-looking human monsters!"

"Humans? Monsters?"

"Yes, they look human on the outside, but their bodies are extraordinarily horrifying."

The guard's voice trembled as he spoke. The fighting style of Kahn and the other two had genuinely frightened these gorillas.

Grodd felt a vague sense that something was wrong. He put on his armor, grabbed his weapon, and strode out.

As soon as he left the room, a horrible scream came from the front. A gorilla scientist in a lab coat was pinned to the ground by Kahn, whose arm was clamped around the neck, savagely wrenching the head off.

Blood spattered everywhere like a fountain. Kahn, bathed in blood, roared with laughter, then, feeling unsatisfied, he actually climbed onto the gorilla's neck and gulped down the blood.

This sight stunned all the surrounding gorillas, even the level-headed Grodd was frozen in astonishment.

Are these still humans? How are they any different from wild beasts?

"Commander?"

The call from a subordinate snapped Grodd back to his senses. He gnashed his teeth and roared,

"Kill them! The lab is our territory! Outsiders are absolutely forbidden to enter!"

With that, he leaped forward, charging toward Kahn.

The leader's stance boosted the gorillas' morale. They beat their chests, letting out loud war cries. The guards, with weapons drawn, followed closely behind Grodd.

The killing frenzy drove Kahn, Sam, and Drake mad. Their eyes had turned from pale red to deep, concentrated crimson. They had departed from the realm of humans, becoming something terrifyingly monstrous.

Facing the charge of the gorillas, the three monsters stood their ground. Their faces were contorted with savage excitement as they rushed forward, laughing hysterically.

A horrific battle began.

Grodd's strength was immense. He knocked Kahn flying with one punch, only to be tackled to the ground by a charging Drake. The two behemoths wrestled savagely on the floor, their fight devoid of skill or technique, relying only on primal savagery.

The other gorillas surrounded Drake, punching and kicking. Each blow carried a force that would make any top boxer tremble.

Kahn and Sam, having recovered, rushed forward together, jointly tearing one gorilla's mouth apart before being swallowed up by the circle of other gorillas.

The three enhanced men were fighting ten mutant gorillas, a huge numerical disadvantage, yet they were not losing ground.

Luke's Intervention and Lane's Alarm

In the Headland Villa, Luke stared intently at the purple giants on the video feed.

Their brutal nature and extremely violent power left a profound impression on him.

"Anthony Ivo!"

"Truly the foremost figure in the field of biochemical engineering. To think he managed to crack the parasite's secrets and develop an enhancement agent based on it in such a short time."

"Impressive, truly impressive!"

Luke felt a pang of inadequacy. Although he had systemically studied Kryptonian knowledge and absorbed the psychological technology of the Psions, his specialty was in physics, energy, materials, and mathematics; he hadn't delved deeply into biological technology.

"Ava, find a way to obtain a tissue sample of the enhanced men's blood and flesh. Also, use an anonymous identity to call the Central City Police Department. Tell them that illegal human experimentation is being conducted in the sewers."

"Send the exact coordinates simultaneously."

"Understood, Young Master."

Not long after the battle erupted, Sam Lane and his group arrived at the perimeter of the base. Seeing the bloody, unrecognizable gorilla corpse in the sentry post, Sam Lane frowned slightly but ultimately said nothing.

The other soldiers did the same. However, when they entered the laboratory and saw the room covered in bloody pieces of flesh, one of them couldn't hold back, muttering,

"This... they did this."

The death of the gorilla scientists was horrific. Their bodies were covered in large and small scratches. One's head had been torn off and thrown into a trash can. Another's chest was ripped open, and its heart was missing. The remaining two were twisted into unnatural shapes, with clear bite marks on their necks.

Such cruel and bloody scenes were not something humans should be capable of.

Sam Lane's face was pale. He couldn't help but whisper fiercely,

"Are you absolutely certain they won't lose control?"

Luthor remained silent, nodding his head. Although worried internally, his face betrayed no change.

Seeing this, Sam could only suppress his worry and continued forward under the protection of his soldiers. Leaving the sentry post, they were immediately met by the sounds of roaring and screaming.

Kahn, Sam, and Drake were locked in a bloody battle with the gorillas. The scene was gruesome. Three mutant gorillas had already fallen in pools of blood. The three enhanced men were also heavily wounded. Drake's head had been hit directly by an electric current, blinding his left eye and blurring the vision in his right. Kahn's left arm was broken, leaving him only with his right. Sam was better off, but he had a bloody slash across his back.

At that moment, the gorilla responsible for monitoring and ranged attacks roared,

"Commander! More intruders!"

Grodd, his face covered in blood, retreated from the fight and shouted,

"Who is it?"

"They are humans! Eleven of them, carrying various weapons and wearing power armor! Judging by their attire, they appear to be from a human official agency!"
