He spun the golden staff in his hand, then turned his back to everyone, raising his chin at a dramatic forty-five-degree angle toward the sky.
"The old man longing for happiness on Skypiea…
The warrior who blindly wants to reclaim his homeland…
And the Blue Sea pirates chasing after gold…"
Enel sighed.
"In this troubled world, it hardly matters what you lambs desire. Skypiea's very existence was a mistake from the beginning."
He suddenly turned, eyes burning with fanaticism.
"Think about it carefully. It is not a cloud, yet it was born in the sky. It is not a bird, yet it lives in the sky. And that massive green vine rooted in the heavens—the very foundation of it defies nature."
"There is a place for the earth, a place for mankind, and a place for God. Each must return to where it belongs. I, as God's will made manifest, simply guide nature back to its rightful order.
Is it not fitting for all of you, as servants of God, to follow me to the boundless land?"
Enel sneered, "What a collection of ignorant mortals. You don't even appreciate the grace bestowed upon you, yet you dare draw your weapons against me. It seems I must show you… what it means to be God."
Sandy's Calculations
While Enel monologued, Sandy was thinking hard about how to kill him in one hit.
Because bodies in this world were too goddamn durable.
Zoro being able to stand after lightning strikes was one thing, but even random warriors could get hit by divine lightning and still walk it off.
Fleet Admiral Sengoku's shockwave was a top-tier attack—yet the entire Blackbeard Pirates got blasted by it and still recovered fast enough to keep fighting.
And Whitebeard—strongest man alive—landed a direct Tremor-Tremor punch on Akainu.
Akainu survived… then fought over a dozen Whitebeard captains solo and nearly killed the unconscious Luffy.
Because of this insane durability, Sandy obsessed over combining swordsmanship with the Space-Space Fruit.
The blade kills.
Space distorts.
Fusion meant annihilation.
Gan Fall Charges
Before Sandy could refine his plan, Gan Fall could no longer endure Enel's madness.
"Old man, be careful!" Luffy yelled.
"Enel!" Gan Fall lunged, thrusting his spear straight at Enel's chest.
It pierced through Enel's torso.
Enel didn't even blink.
Lightning crackled.
In a flash, he appeared beside Gan Fall, one finger pointed down and one finger up, trapping the spear between arcs of electricity.
"One hundred thousand volts… one million volts… ten million volts… two—"
Sandy's eyes sharpened.
This was the chance.
Sandy Strikes
"Space Swap!!"
Enel blinked, confused—then a wave of impossible, disorienting force hit him. He staggered, stunned.
That instant of disorientation was exactly what Sandy was waiting for.
He unleashed Conqueror's Haki.
Then—
"Armament Haki: Hardening!"
"One-Sword Style—Brain-Splitting Slash!!"
CLANG—
A colossal sword aura slashed diagonally upward, carving through the distant giant vine—splitting it cleanly in two.
Everyone froze.
It happened so fast they barely understood what they saw.
"Space Swap!"
"Huh? Where'd he go?" Zoro asked.
"Where's Enel?" Luffy added. "Did his head fly off? And was that blood?!"
Enel wasn't gone.
Sandy had quietly tossed him into his space backpack.
Living creatures couldn't enter the space backpack.
Dead ones could.
Enel was currently lying inside… next to a Devil Fruit.
Sandy smirked.
He wanted the Rumble-Rumble Fruit too.
[pheromone system]
[Ding! Congratulations to the host for completing an unusual operation. Reward…]
Sandy ignored it for now. He needed to calm the others first.
Aftermath
Sandy sheathed his sword and addressed everyone.
"Enel was a Logia-type Rumble-Rumble Fruit user. His Devil Fruit is top-tier, so both his Observation Haki and speed were exceptional. I've been waiting for the perfect chance to kill him in one blow—and I finally got it."
"As for why I didn't let Luffy fight him… simple. I was afraid he'd escape. And once a lightning man runs, capturing him becomes nearly impossible."
Sandy stepped forward.
"Everyone… Enel is dead. Your nightmare is over."
In the New World, those who relied too heavily on their Devil Fruits died quickly.
They didn't learn their weaknesses.
They didn't train their Haki.
They grew arrogant.
Enel didn't even have Armament Haki.
He truly thought he was God.
So Sandy sent him to meet the real one.
Wiper finally exhaled.
"Blue Sea man… Enel is truly dead?"
Sandy nodded, "His head flew off. Trust me—he's dead. And… sorry for grabbing you by the throat earlier. I didn't want you rushing in and getting fried."
Wiper grunted. He didn't care how Enel died—only that he did.
Raki stared blankly.
The invincible Enel… gone?
Just like that?
One move?
Gan Fall was still trembling.
He was sure he was about to die.
Then suddenly his position changed—he never even noticed the swap.
Luffy listened with strange seriousness, nodding as though Sandy's explanation was some divine wisdom.
The Giant Vine Problem
"Hey," Zoro finally said, pointing behind them, "what about that?"
The massive vine Sandy accidentally cut was collapsing—right toward them.
This was Shandora—the homeland Wiper cherished most.
"BASTARD!" Wiper roared. "You wanna destroy my homeland now too?!"
"It wasn't on purpose!" Sandy yelled back. "How was I supposed to know the giant vine was right there?!"
"Let's run or we'll get crushed!" Luffy shouted.
Sandy raised a hand.
"Don't panic! Behold my new move!"
"If my home gets destroyed, I'm dragging you into the grave with it!" Wiper snapped.
Raki clutched him. "We have no choice but to trust him!"
Zoro sighed, "Quit posing dramatically and DO something!"
