Chapter 149 - A Bird that defined Heavens

After that, Chakor's life became a happy dream. He spent every day like it was his last. Living in the forest, he convinced others of his kind not to chase the moon until death. He shared the truth about the moon and helped them love their home more than any paradise.

However, this peace did not last. A major event occurred just a few months after Chakor returned to Earth. Humans still call it the first calamity, the beginning of events that changed the very foundation of the world.

It was a typical day in Chakor's life. He had reached the prime of his age and was looking for a partner to build a new nest. While roaming the mountains, he admired the beautiful scenery of hills and forests.

Suddenly, a loud thundering sound erupted from the sky. It startled him and caused all the other birds to fall from the sky. Some weaker birds even lost consciousness and lay on the forest floor. Chakor found himself among them, barely holding onto consciousness. He glanced up at the sky and saw something he couldn't understand.

He noticed a fissure in the clear blue sky. It was a crack in reality that felt oddly familiar. The void within the crack reminded him of the countless stars he had seen when he flew to the moon on that rocket. Yet, he couldn't grasp why this void appeared above his mountain.

Before he could comprehend more about the crack, his body reached its limit. The body that survived the flight to the moon was now succumbing to the loud noise. One can only imagine how deafening that sound was.

Falling unconscious, he entered a dream. In this dream, he lived peacefully in the forest, searching for food and fleeing from eagles. One day, he found a female bird willing to be his partner. Together, they began a new story of a peaceful life. Everything was going smoothly. His partner laid eggs in their nest, and he was soon to become a father. From facing death while chasing the moon to becoming a father with a happy family, his story was nothing short of a miracle unknown to the world.

But this dream did not end there. While waiting for his children to be born, something strange happened in the sky. Despite it being day, he could clearly see the moon. It seemed to look back at him, and a face appeared on the moon with a creepy smile. Before he could process anything, a voice echoed all around him: "YOU CAN'T ESCAPE YOUR FATE."

Then, a large mouth appeared in the sky and slowly descended toward the ground, engulfing him and everything around.

He soon awakened from the dream, but the scene before him was a nightmare. Strange creatures, resembling mice but far more horrific, were eating the fallen animals, including some birds like him and various small creatures.

Although he was accustomed to the jungle, where animals eat each other as part of the food chain, this situation was different. These creatures weren't just eating; they were killing for the sake of fun. It seemed they had something wrong in their heads.

Desperate to escape, Chakor attempted to fly, but one of the creatures lunged at him, biting his left wing and making it impossible for him to take off. A fight ensued, one he would never forget. In the end, he defeated the creature by piercing its left eye with his beak, killing it.

Chakor was also injured but managed to find a small opening in the trunk of a large tree and fell unconscious there. When he woke up, he felt different. His body was completely healed and even stronger than before.

He flew away from that place into the open sky and realized that not only had he become stronger, but other animals had, too. Their bloodlust had intensified. Now, animals killed without needing to eat their prey. Some small creatures like mice even seemed to lose their sanity, attacking anything that moved and breeding among themselves.

Unlike the other animals, Chakor sensed a change in the air. A new energy flowed through it, causing everything in the world to evolve beyond their limits.

Chakor disliked this change. Having flown all the way to the moon, he valued peace in his mountain above all. Determined to recreate that peace, he decided that if he couldn't restore harmony to the entire world, he could at least bring back the old days in his mountain.

He began by eliminating the small insane animals. He protected his species from predators and ensured other species weren't completely wiped out. His strength grew slowly, but compared to other animals like tigers and crocodiles with strong bloodlines, he felt insignificant. However, he focused on what his species was known for: flight. He honed his speed, like the speed he experienced on the way to the moon. He flew day and night, killing animals and maintaining order in the mountains, all to recreate that extraordinary speed of the rocket.

Eventually, he achieved that speed and became dominant in this transformed forest, which had grown into a mountain. It was still his home, the place where he sought peace. Soon, he became so strong that no beast, no matter how large, dared to come within a hundred miles of Azure Mountain. They didn't fear fighting him; they never even had the chance.

Unlike the other animals that had grown massive, Chakor remained his original size. However, his speed became extraordinary. He had reached a super-speed level, making him invisible to enemies until he struck.

His fighting style focused on two things: speed and a strong body. He combined both, flying and piercing through the heads of his enemies. They never realized who had killed them. The nearby humans began to tell stories of a mountain god in the Azure Mountains and settled their villages nearby to seek his protection. He tolerated their presence as long as they did not disturb his peace.

Just as he thought his peaceful days were returning, another event occurred. On another calm day, a pressure descended on the whole mountain, accompanied by large thunderclouds. Disturbed, Chakor looked up and saw a large mouth, reminiscent of his dream. Fearful, he flew straight up into the sky. Now airborne, he finally saw the creature whose mouth he had seen from the ground. It was a strange reptile whose body stretched for several miles, and its mouth alone was several meters long.

He didn't know what the creature was called, but the humans living in the mountain knelt in its presence, calling it "Dragon."
