Chapter 138 - Chapter 137: Yes, a Galaxy Vein!

Song Jie turned his head toward the corridor on his left. It stretched several meters long.

Without hesitation, he walked toward it.

A signpost came into view—it was another restroom.

"Song Jie, move forward to the second door. There are several parasitic demons inside," Lingling's calm voice came through his earpiece.

Song Jie nodded.

He quickly reached the door, pushed it open, and scanned the interior. Two pale-yellow female demons immediately turned toward him, baring their fangs and claws as they lunged forward!

"Radiance!"

"Purify!!"

A blinding golden light burst forth, enveloping the demons. Their scales peeled away in layers, revealing two unconscious young girls beneath.

Song Jie retrieved some spare clothes to cover them and handed them bottled water to drink once they stirred awake.

"How are you two feeling?" he asked, noticing a sense of familiarity in the girl with a red hair accessory.

"We're fine…" she replied softly, shaking her head.

Song Jie nodded. "Stay here. Once the situation outside is under control, you can come out."

"I'm scared…" the girl with the red hairpiece said, clutching Song Jie's arm tightly, unwilling to let him leave.

Something about this scene struck Song Jie as familiar. He studied her face carefully.

Bai Tingting!?

Song Jie's eyes widened slightly. "What Element do you cultivate?"

"Healing Element," she replied.

That confirmed it—this girl was indeed Bai Tingting.

"That's perfect," Song Jie said. "That girl over there is in your care."

"But…"

"The demons here have already been purified. You don't need to worry."

After speaking, Song Jie summoned Xiao Hei (Little Black), his summoned beast. "This little guy will stay and protect you."

Bai Tingting nodded, instantly feeling reassured.

"There are still a few girls in the other restroom," Song Jie added. "Once you're ready, go bring them out too."

"Okay!" Bai Tingting agreed earnestly.

Just then, Lingling's voice returned through the headset. "Song Jie, the parasitic demons are increasing again."

"I have to go. Xiao Hei, protect them well."

Song Jie turned and hurried out.

Bai Tingting watched his retreating figure, then looked down at the small black cat beside her. She couldn't falter now.

After Song Jie defeated more than a dozen pale-yellow female demons, Lingling's urgent voice came again.

"Song Jie, Mo Fan, I've made a major discovery—you'll need to work together on this."

"What is it?" Song Jie asked.

"If we want to save the students inside, we must kill the Scaled Hide Demon Mother!" Lingling said gravely.

"Where is she?" Mo Fan demanded.

"She should be near the elevator platform. You must find her immediately!"

"Elevator platform? I'll head over now," Mo Fan said, confident that with Song Jie's help, this would be easy.

"Song Jie, your strength is incredible. If you get a chance—finish her in one strike!" Lingling instructed.

"Understood," Song Jie replied.

"If this goes smoothly, both the school and the Hunter Union will reward you," Lingling added.

Mo Fan's face lit up. "Oh? That sounds like a nice bonus!"

Song Jie chuckled quietly. He knew Lingling was trying to secure them rewards—and he secretly thought this clever girl deserved a kiss once they got out of this mess.

Moments later, he and Mo Fan arrived at the elevator platform—just in time to see the Scaled Hide Demon Mother undergoing a terrifying transformation.

"Ahhh!"

A female celebrity nearby screamed at the sight and collapsed in fear.

Mo Fan reacted first, casting his Lightning Element magic. Thunderbolts streaked down from the ceiling toward the Demon Mother—but she sensed the danger and dodged with startling speed.

Song Jie dashed forward, scooping the terrified woman into his arms and moving her to safety.

The Scaled Hide Demon Mother glared at them with venomous hatred.

It was them—these two had killed her other half that night!

With a furious shriek, she summoned a wave of pale-yellow female demons that swarmed toward them.

"Close your eyes!" Song Jie commanded.

The moment his voice fell, golden light burst from his body. Purify!

The entire platform was bathed in Radiance as the demons screamed, clutching their heads. Their scales cracked and fell away like ash.

"Brother Jie! She's trying to escape!" Mo Fan shouted.

No way he'd let that happen.

Song Jie raised his palm, gathering brilliant energy. Radiance—Laser Form!

A golden beam shot forth, instantly piercing the fleeing Scaled Hide Demon Mother.

The swarm of parasitic demons froze mid-motion before collapsing lifelessly to the floor. Their pale-yellow scales faded into nothing.

Mo Fan stared at the aftermath, amazed. "We did it!!"

"Mo Fan, what's the situation over there?" Lingling's voice came through.

"Brother Jie just finished off the Demon Mother!" Mo Fan reported proudly.

Lingling let out a long breath of relief. "Good work. I'll have the Hunter Union members waiting outside come in and secure the scene."

Just then, a faint glow shimmered where the Demon Mother had fallen.

"That's… an Essence Orb!" Mo Fan said, his jade pendant allowing him to see it clearly.

Song Jie wasn't surprised. "Of course. The Scaled Hide Demon Mother always drops an Essence Orb—otherwise I wouldn't have rushed here."

"You can see it too?" Mo Fan asked, intrigued.

Song Jie grinned. "Naturally."

He reached down and absorbed the Essence Orb into his bronze bracelet.

At that moment, Zhao Manyan arrived, having followed the commotion.

"Mo Fan!" he called out.

"Why are you here?" Mo Fan asked.

"I wasn't at ease, so I came to check on you," Zhao Manyan replied, glancing around at the aftermath and the unconscious girls. "What on earth happened here?"

Mo Fan waved casually. "It's all handled now."

"Handled?" Zhao Manyan was incredulous, his gaze shifting toward Song Jie.

"This is my former classmate, Song Jie," Mo Fan explained. "He's our senior now."

"Senior?" Zhao Manyan eyed Song Jie carefully. The man's strength was impressive—he'd clearly resolved this mess almost single-handedly.

It was also obvious that Mo Fan respected him.

"Mo Fan," Zhao Manyan said suddenly, "can you talk to him for me? Let me take the credit for this mission."

"Why do you want the credit?" Mo Fan asked, raising an eyebrow.

"As a Noble Family disciple, I can't just demand resources. I have to contribute to the family too," Zhao Manyan explained. "If I can take credit for resolving this crisis, the family will definitely value me more."

Mo Fan sighed. "Alright, I'll ask him."

He turned to Song Jie and explained Zhao Manyan's situation.

Song Jie looked at Zhao Manyan with a faint smile. "So, you want to buy this credit?"

Zhao Manyan nodded eagerly.

"Fine," Song Jie said. "Give me one Galaxy Vein, and the credit is yours."

"…" Zhao Manyan froze, at a loss for words. He really wanted to curse right then and there.
