Huang Xingli looked up in the direction of Ding Yimian's gaze.
"Yimian, what are you looking at?"
"Xingli, did you just see a dark shadow flash past the window?" Ding Yimian asked.
"Huh?" Huang Xingli glanced at the window again, confusion written all over her face.
"Was this window open earlier?" Ding Yimian continued.
Huang Xingli thought for a moment, then suddenly clapped her hands.
"Oh! I used mosquito spray today and opened the bathroom window too!"
Ding Yimian frowned and looked back at the bathroom window.
So… that fleeting dark shadow from earlier was helping them close the window?
Song Jie returned to the rooftop of the apartment building, wiping the blood from his nose with the back of his hand.
"Cough, cough… That was really close. I almost got discovered!"
After testing out his Demonification ability, Song Jie quietly returned to his residence a while later.
"I need to cultivate diligently and break through to the Advanced Level as soon as possible!" he muttered. Although he had acquired Li Rui's Demonification ability, it was not the peak version.
To achieve the true peak of Demonification, he needed to advance his Summoning Element to the Advanced Level.
The next day.
While Song Jie was cultivating, Lingling suddenly initiated a group call.
After he answered, Lingling's clear, sweet voice came through the receiver, sounding somewhat cute.
"I took the shedding blood sample of the female host back for research and used it to create a tracker," Lingling said.
"And then what?" Song Jie asked.
"The male host raised the price for us," Lingling continued. "If we can help the female host recover, he'll pay us one million. And the money's already been transferred!"
Mo Fan exclaimed in surprise, "Holy crap, seriously?!"
Lingling asked, "Where are you all now? Let's meet up first, then we'll go after it together."
"Alright, the three of us can meet at the entrance of Pearl Institute," Song Jie suggested.
He knew their next destination would definitely be Pearl Institute. Those parasitic demons were likely heading there.
At the main entrance of Pearl Institute, Song Jie and Mo Fan arrived first. Lingling showed up last.
"Let's find somewhere to sit and talk first," Song Jie said, pointing to the milk tea shop by the school gate. The three of them went inside.
After sitting down, they ordered milk tea. Lingling immediately set up her equipment nearby.
Mo Fan leaned forward. "Can this thing really track that shedding demon?"
"Whether it can or not, you'll see soon," Lingling replied, fingers moving swiftly over her keyboard.
Moments later, she called them over to look.
Mo Fan pointed at the screen. "What's this black dot?"
"The black dot is our current location, and the red dot represents the demon's position…" Lingling said—then suddenly froze. The red dots were multiplying.
"Lingling, what's going on?" Mo Fan asked, puzzled.
Lingling looked stunned. "I… don't know either."
Song Jie understood what was happening but kept quiet, pretending to be a bystander.
Lingling quickly made a phone call. Standing beside her, Song Jie could clearly hear a pleasant female voice on the other end.
That voice… was beautiful.
He guessed the caller was probably Lingling's older sister—Leng Qing.
Although Song Jie hadn't met her in person, he hoped she would be as stunning as she was in the manga.
The anime hadn't reached her arc yet, but from what he'd read, she was definitely impressive—and her figure was certainly nothing to complain about.
After analyzing the data, Lingling finally came to a conclusion.
"When they parasitize, there's a blood exchange. So the sample I brought back wasn't from the previous female host—it was a common blood sample shared among all parasitic demons!"
Mo Fan looked at the direction of the red dots. They were converging on one location—the Pearl Institute Stadium.
"They're all heading in one direction!" Lingling said.
Mo Fan frowned. "That's our Pearl Institute stadium—and there's a concert happening there right now!"
"A concert?!"
Lingling's face tensed as a dreadful thought crossed her mind. The number of red dots on the monitor kept increasing—all within the stadium.
"I'll contact the Hunter Union immediately and have them send reinforcements," Lingling said quickly.
Then she turned to Song Jie and Mo Fan, giving them instructions on how to handle the parasitic demons before urging them to move out.
"Mo Fan, don't act recklessly. If you can't handle it, find Song Jie right away," she warned.
Mo Fan nodded. He knew sticking with the strong was always safer—but he also needed to prove his own worth to the team.
At the stadium, Song Jie and Mo Fan slipped inside while the guards were distracted. The place was packed with students.
"Brother Jie, let's split up," Mo Fan said.
"Alright." Song Jie nodded, heading in the opposite direction.
"Song Jie, go toward the restroom. There are several parasitic demons there!" Lingling's voice came through his earpiece.
From the stadium's surveillance cameras, Lingling had pinpointed several demon locations.
Song Jie followed her directions until he stopped in front of the women's restroom.
"Lingling… this is the women's restroom. Isn't it a bit inappropriate for me to go in alone?" he said awkwardly, staring at the sign above the door.
Lingling fell silent for a moment.
Then her voice came through firmly, "Song Jie, this isn't the time to worry about that!"
"You're right."
Song Jie nodded helplessly. This was his first time entering a women's restroom… Thankfully, it was empty; otherwise, someone would've definitely mistaken him for a pervert.
He scanned the restroom carefully and sensed something off.
"Is anyone here?" he called out.
Suddenly, the stall doors rattled violently!
Moments later, several yellow-skinned female demons emerged, their grotesque bodies fully revealed after shedding their skins.
Song Jie quickly counted.
"One, two, three, four, five! Off to hunt tigers on the mountain!"
The demons hissed and lunged toward him.
Song Jie remained calm. He raised his hand, summoning a purifying light that burst outward in a dazzling wave.
The demons screamed in agony and collapsed, clutching their heads as their yellow skin slowly receded.
The Light Element's Purification was the perfect counter to these parasitic demons.
"Lingling, it's handled," Song Jie reported, dragging some old rags from the nearby utility room to cover the unconscious girls.
One of them stirred weakly. "What… happened to us?"
"You were possessed by demons," Song Jie explained gently. "But you're safe now."
"Demons?!"
The girls looked horrified, too weak to process what had happened.
"Song Jie, at the end of the left corridor—there are many more parasitic demons!" Lingling's urgent voice echoed through his earpiece.
Song Jie's expression hardened.
He turned and began moving in that direction without hesitation.
