"His convictions are strong?"
Gowasu and Rumsshi exchanged a glance.
Especially Rumsshi. When he had tasted the tea Zamasu brewed earlier, he had already caught a glimpse of the young Kai apprentice's character through it.
Just as Kusu had said, Zamasu possessed frighteningly unwavering conviction. Decisive in action, relentless in pursuit, and unwilling to give up—those qualities had all been reflected in that single cup of tea.
But weren't those precisely the virtues a candidate Supreme Kai should possess?
"Miss Kusu, do you think Zamasu can bring back the Seventh Universe's methods?"
To Gowasu, "strong convictions" sounded like praise, so he did not think much of it.
"Perhaps."
Kusu narrowed her eyes. Her expression was peculiar, making it impossible to tell what she was thinking.
Rumsshi noticed nothing unusual and merely sighed.
"I just hope he manages to learn the Seventh Universe's methods. Otherwise, our Tenth Universe is in serious trouble."
"Lord Rumsshi, all things in this world have their destined course. As long as we do our best, that is enough. If we still fail, then perhaps it is simply fate."
"You're right. If we can't do it, then those universes ranked even higher than us probably won't be able to either. In that case, we'll all die together!"
"..."
Meanwhile, on the route from the Tenth Universe to the Seventh Universe, a cube-shaped vessel sped through space.
Inside stood a towering giant nearly three meters tall. His crimson hair flowed down his back, and his muscular frame radiated an overwhelming sense of pressure.
This man was Primo.
Primo was an ancient being, though unlike Light, the evil wolf from the Fourth Universe.
Primo had once been a mortal hero.
Long ago, while fighting against evil, he suffered grievous injuries. To prevent his death, a magician sealed him away.
Only later, after Rumsshi awakened him and Kusu healed his wounds, did he become qualified to participate in the Candidate God of Destruction Battle Royale.
Standing beside him was a green-skinned figure dressed in Supreme Kai attire, his expression calm and composed.
"Mr. Primo, you're still a mortal, aren't you?" Zamasu asked while looking straight ahead.
"That's right. After Lord Rumsshi awakened me, he had me train solely in martial arts suited for a Candidate God of Destruction. I've never cultivated divine dimensions or godly powers, so I've remained a mortal all this time."
Primo scratched his head sheepishly, instantly shattering the intimidating aura he normally gave off.
"Mr. Primo, what do you think of mortals?"
Only then did Zamasu turn to look at the giant beside him.
Completely unaware of the coldness hidden in Zamasu's eyes, Primo thought for a moment before replying:
"Mortals are wonderful. They're intelligent, hardworking, brave, respectful, tolerant…"
As Primo continued praising mortals, Zamasu's clenched fists tightened further, his knuckles turning white.
"Mr. Primo, don't you think mortals are filth—"
Zamasu almost spoke his true thoughts.
But realizing he could not expose himself yet, he immediately changed his wording.
"Don't you think mortals are violent and barbaric? They constantly wage wars to satisfy their desires. Isn't that kind of behavior terrible?"
Hearing such words from a Candidate Supreme Kai felt strange to Primo.
"Mr. Zamasu, I've met people like the ones you describe. But the development of a universe has always been like that—survival of the fittest. I don't think there's anything unusual about it."
Primo looked at his hands.
"On the contrary, I think mortals are rather lovable. When I was gravely wounded fighting evil, it was mortals who sealed me away to save my life."
"Since then, they've sung my praises every year and honored my contributions to their world."
"Isn't that rather lovable?"
Primo repeated once more:
"I think mortals are quite lovable."
Zamasu gritted his teeth so hard that his jaw nearly cracked, yet none of his anger appeared on his face.
Taking a deep breath, he smiled.
"They certainly are lovable. I never expected you to see things so clearly, Mr. Primo. I've learned a great deal."
The words "learned a great deal" were practically squeezed through clenched teeth, but Primo seemed completely oblivious.
He laughed honestly.
"You flatter me, Mr. Zamasu. That's merely my personal opinion."
The Universe Travel Cube soon fell silent once more as both men gazed forward.
Before long, the cube arrived outside a universe.
"Mr. Zamasu, is this Lord Gran's Seventh Universe?" Primo asked excitedly.
Although Gran had killed him during the Candidate God of Destruction Battle Royale five years ago, Primo had been utterly captivated by Gran's invincible display of power.
"Yes. This is Lord Gran's universe."
Even Zamasu addressed Gran as "Lord."
Looking into his eyes, one could see an almost frightening level of admiration.
From his expression alone, it seemed as though Gran truly was his idol.
And in truth...
Gran really was Zamasu's idol.
During that battle royale five years ago, every candidate except Gran had been a mortal.
Yet those mortals possessed power rivaling that of gods.
Had Gran not turned the tide alone, the ultimate victor of the tournament would undoubtedly have been a mortal.
And that outcome was something Zamasu could never accept.
The image of Gran fighting one against ten had been permanently engraved into his mind.
That, in Zamasu's eyes, was how a true god should be.
I must meet Lord Gran.
If I can bring him into my camp...
Zamasu silently pondered.
Unaware of what he was thinking, Primo urged eagerly:
"Mr. Zamasu, let's go in!"
"Very well."
With a wave of his hand, Zamasu guided the Universe Travel Cube directly into the Seventh Universe.
At that same moment, far away in the Seventh Universe's World of Destruction, Whis was enjoying a cup of instant noodles.
Suddenly, the crystal orb atop his staff flashed.
Whis immediately tossed his noodles into the air and picked up his staff to investigate.
"Hm? These two are..."
He frowned.
They looked familiar, especially the three-meter-tall Primo.
"Oh, right. The Candidate God of Destruction from the Tenth Universe!"
Whis finally remembered who Primo was.
But in the next instant, he froze.
What were these two doing in the Seventh Universe?
Confusion filled his face.
Beerus was currently asleep, and Gran had already left the universe, leaving Whis uncertain about how to proceed.
Should he simply allow them to wander the Seventh Universe freely?
Or should he question them about their purpose?
As an Angel, Whis could not act arbitrarily without the God of Destruction's instructions.
And if he wanted to question them officially, he would first have to wake Beerus.
But just thinking about Beerus's infamous temper after waking up made Whis reluctant to do so.
"I've got it!"
From their clothing alone, Whis had already identified one as a Candidate Supreme Kai and the other as a Candidate God of Destruction.
"In that case, I'll let the Supreme Kais receive them instead."
Just as Whis was about to contact Old Kai, he suddenly remembered the Majin Buu incident.
Although he knew it was highly unlikely that Primo and Zamasu would do anything to a universe's Supreme Kai...
Just to be safe...
He should find them a bodyguard first.
