HARPER
"We need to talk," he said, ignoring my question entirely.
"Talk?" I echoed, the word suddenly feeling strange on my tongue.
Dominic didn't respond. Instead, he started pulling me away from Clara's doorway. My heart lurched.
My eyes darted around the empty street as I dug my heels into the ground, trying to resist his grip.
"Stop," I said firmly.
He didn't.
He kept dragging me along like I was some stubborn child he intended to deal with in private.
Then I saw it. His black car, parked just a few feet away and his driver standing beside it.
That should have reassured me. At least I wouldn't be alone with him. But it didn't.
If anything, it made everything worse. The driver wasn't on my side, and I had no idea what Dominic had planned before showing up here.
"I'll scream if you don't let go!" I warned, my voice rising.
Dominic stopped. Slowly, he turned to face me. "Shout."
