Vivian lifted her head and looked at the boy in front of her, and with one glance, she was completely taken aback.
It's him??
The brilliant sunshine outside the window poured in through the living room's floor-to-ceiling windows, casting warmth behind him.
The boy stood with his back to the window, hands in his pockets, and as he saw Vivian, his originally impatient expression immediately changed to one of full surprise.
"Come here, Vivian, let me introduce you. This is my son, Ethan Hayes. He's a senior at Meridian First High School. As for grades, Professor Shaw probably mentioned them to you before. He's at the bottom of his class. Ah, I don't expect him to get into any prestigious universities. If he can get into a second-tier university, I'll be satisfied. But with his current grades, I figure it's tough to even get into a vocational school." Mr. Hayes stood up, his face full of looking helplessly at his own son as he introduced him.
Vivian quickly stood up as well.
Only after she stood up did she realize how tall this guy was. She actually had to lift her head to see his face.
How come she didn't notice at the subway exit earlier? Probably because she was only focused on the bottled water in the vending machine...
Ethan stood there, his eyes slightly lowered, looking at Vivian, whose height was just at his chest, removing his surprise from his eyes, and lazily smiled: "Middle schooler??"
Vivian instantly froze, looking up and glaring at Ethan: "I'm a freshman."
"Oh... so short." Ethan's lips curled into a faint smile. After saying this, he directly and lazily sat down on the living room sofa, his long legs nearly reaching Vivian's feet.
Mr. Hayes looked at his state, furrowing his brows: "Pull your legs back, neither standing properly nor sitting properly. A girl here, why are you so tall??"
"Tch..." Ethan scoffed dismissively, but still pulled his legs back quietly.
"This kid isn't respectful in speech, don't take it to heart." Mr. Hayes glared at his son again, then turned his head to smile at Vivian: "From now on, you're his teacher. If he annoys you, go ahead and give him a good hit, however you like. No need to stand on ceremony with us."
Uh...
Listening to his words, Vivian couldn't help curling her lips. Other parents worry about teachers mistreating their children, but it seems like he almost wishes his son gets mistreated??
Hearing his father's words, Ethan directly rolled his eyes.
"Come on, come on, have some fruit, have some fruit!" As they were talking, Mrs. Hayes came out of the kitchen with a freshly cut plate of fruit.
After placing the full plate of fruit on the coffee table in the living room, she sat down next to Vivian, smiling warmly as she asked: "Vivian, I heard from Professor Shaw that you're the best student among this year's freshmen. How's it been? Are you adjusting well?"
"It's going well." Vivian shyly nodded and responded.
"How old are you this year?" Mrs. Hayes kept asking.
"I'll be eighteen in a few months."
"Oh? You're the same age as Ethan, how come you're a freshman already?" Mrs. Hayes chatted enthusiastically with Vivian.
