The last thing Sakazuki remembered was the cold sting of a needle piercing his neck before he passsed out.

He forced his eyes open wide and looked at his surrounding, white ceiling and it is no longer black. Clean smell, no it is a sterile smell and medicine smell. There wasn't any damp and metallic smell anymore, there wasn't a chain smell here.
He turned his head slowly, scanning the room, medical equipment, marine insignia, stone reinforced walls and he recognized it immediately.
'Marineford military hospital.'
"You are awake?"
Akainu turned toward the voice and a Marine doctor named Jason stood beside him, tablet in hand, his eyes tired but relieved upon seeing him woke up.
Akainu voice came out rough. "What… happened?"
The doctor straightened. "The Marines successfully redeemed you from the pirates, sir."
The word redeemed felt like acid and his anger come suddenly.
Akainu clenched his teeth. The grinding teeth sound was audible in the quiet room. Rage burned hotter than any magma he had ever produced but his body can no longer produce magma like before.
"…How long?" he demanded.
"Approximately eighteen hours since retrieval. You were under heavy sedation, both from their drug and ours. Your injuries were… severe."
Akainu tried to move but pain flared instantly and he who was cloudy instantly felt jolt, like lightning seen through fog, his body refused to obey fully.
"Lie still, sir," the doctor warned quickly. "Your ribs were fractured. Internal bleeding. Nerve damage in your arm after that pirate cut it off. Whoever did this knew exactly how to keep you alive while maximizing pain."
Jack face flashed in his mind again.
The calm and cold face when torturing him, he looked very professional while doing it.
He still remembered his word.
"Do you know Sakazuki, the slave of celestial dragon? This is a little compared to what those bastard dog who proclaimed themselves a god did to a human weaker than them." said Jack while torturing him.
Akainu was in pain and couldn't move or don't have energy to argue with him.
"It looks like you don't even have energy to talk," Jack realised the damage he had inflicted to Akainu was so severe and he could sense fear on Akainu eyes.
But jack continued anyway, chatting with him like an old time friend. "They didn't have anyone to protect them, some of them were kidnapped by a pirates sponsored by celestial dragon, some were kidnapped by marines themselves, some were forcefully turned into slaves by their own kingdom. Even they wanted to ran away, they no longer have a home."
Jack paused while looking at Akainu with smile, he had stopped beating him and try to force a common sense on him.
"Akainu, didn't I tell you before that your belief is wrong. What justice did you did? Destroying pirates is a good but pirates are non stop because of the pressure that world government put on them and they will keep appearing. I still remembered what your motto when dealing with weak people, 'you rather kill babies and woman as long as one pirates failed to escape your grasp'. But Akainu, before you said that you need to experience what pain looks like and you only saw them in Marijoies. You saw those slave and comforted yourself that they are criminal that they deserve being tortured and when you saw a baby, you also lied yourself that is the blood of the demon that worth torturing." Jack grinned at him.
Akainu paused, the impact of not being tortured while Jack explained what he did is worse then when he was being beaten by him. At least on those time, his mind are on the pain while this time he is fully focused on Jack.
"Let me tell you, some of them are being kidnapped in a young age because of those rare exotic looks, some are for fun and some are born because their parents give birth to them. So Akainu, I will leave you here and will teach you how to understand their pain when Celestial Dragon tortured them... The doctor hesitated.

"Reports?" he asked.

Akainu turned his head slightly, staring out the window at Marineford's fortress walls. Marines moved below like ants, normal, orderly, safe.
"Tell them that the demon named Jack had steal my devil fruit power," said Akainu.
He still remembered when Jack had manage to copy his devil fruit and gave it to Revolutionary Sabo and used that power infront of him.
The doctor and other marines were shocked and soon the report that Akainu had lost his power are submmited to Fleet Admiral and even world government.

World government only agreed to redeem Akainu because of his devil fruit and now Akainu had lost even his devil fruit to Pirates.
