The tailor's workshop was on the third floor of the Academy's west wing, in a room that smelled like pressed linen and faintly of leather. Three full-length mirrors stood along the far wall. Dozens of rolling racks of dark fabric hung in plastic covers. A short woman with a measuring tape around her neck and pins between her teeth was already waiting when they arrived.
"Line up" she said around the pins. "Arms out. Don't talk while I'm measuring your neck or I'll stab you and it won't be an accident."
"Woah, m'lady! No need to get aggressive!" Arashi went first. He stepped onto the fitting platform, spread his arms, and looked at himself in the mirror with deep personal satisfaction. The tailor wrapped the tape around his chest. He straightened his posture by another two centimeters.
"Broader in the shoulders than last year's class" the tailor noted.
"I've been told" Arashi grinned.
