Chapter 269 - Loki's Compilation of Socially Awkward Moments!

Loki's later transformation was beyond anyone's imagination, including Agent Mobius, who was interrogating him at that moment.

"What do you mean by that?" Agent Mobius asked.

"For almost every living being, the freedom to choose brings shame, uncertainty, and regret. Every path is fraught with danger, and people always choose the wrong one!"

Loki said with utmost seriousness.

This was the first time he had ever opened up to someone, completely contrary to everyone's expectations. Though he was an ambitious dictator, beneath his ambition lay a sliver of warmth.

Hearing this, Tony Stark found it laughable. To an absolute libertarian like him, this was just a pathetic attempt to dress up his ridiculous ambition in lies.

Lin Feng might have gained a new respect for Loki, but since none of his loved ones had been harmed, he couldn't truly relate. As a native of this timeline, Tony Stark felt the difference keenly.

"People just want to live easy lives!" Agent Mobius replied.

"True, well said. You said 'every living being'—I take it you don't consider yourself part of that group?" Agent Mobius asked.

Hearing this, Loki burst into laughter. "The Time-Keepers have set up their circus, and the clowns are working hard to play their parts!"

Loki stared intently at Agent Mobius, still not entirely convinced that the Time Variance Authority was truly invincible.

He was still probing, because he simply couldn't believe such a formidable entity existed to control time.

To him, it was all the creation of clowns.

Agent Mobius remained unfazed by Loki's skepticism. He'd seen it countless times—people who refused to accept the existence of the TVA.

No one wanted to acknowledge a supreme power above them, one that could manipulate time, prune it, and alter the past and future.

Even Loki, who had been here more than once or twice, had grown accustomed to it.

People like Loki were prone to acting out of line, creating entirely new timelines with their erratic thinking.

So, after offering a few words of comfort and encouragement, Mobius started playing the video.

The group watched a clip from the Battle of New York—the same scene they had previously seen in Lin Feng's diary.

"What is this?" Loki asked, recognizing the scene.

"These are samples of pivotal moments in your life. Would you like to see them?" Agent Mobius said, though he had already started playing the video, clearly not intending to wait for Loki's permission.

The first image that appeared was footage of the Original Avengers preparing to attack Loki. Seeing this, Loki's face darkened as he remembered being beaten senseless by the Hulk.

That had happened just recently, and his bones still ached faintly.

"It's funny, really," Mobius taunted. "For a born ruler, you've failed quite a lot. I'd say it's practically in your nature!"

"The last person who said that to me didn't fare well!" Loki retorted defiantly.

"Right, Phil Coulson!" Mobius sneered.

The video then showed Loki stabbing Coulson through the chest—a brutal, bloody scene.

Outside the footage, the Avengers clenched their fists, none of them aware that such an event had ever occurred.

Especially Coulson, he never imagined he would die in the future, and at Loki's hands?

*Well, that's another blood debt to add to the tally.*

Of course, he didn't know that a show called *S.H.I.E.L.D.* would resurrect him, so in his mind, he was already dead.

"Didn't the Avengers unite to defeat you and avenge him?" Agent Mobius asked.

"That's hardly any consolation to the dead!" Loki retorted.

"Do you enjoy hurting people?" Mobius continued. "Making them feel weak, terrified? Making them feel insignificant?"

The video now began playing footage from the Battle of New York.

"Your little tricks won't fool me! I know who I am!" Loki shouted hysterically, unable to accept that his fate was predetermined. For someone so ambitious, this was a crushing blow.

"Murderer?"

"Liberator!"

"Maybe you liberate eyeballs!"

Mobius then mocked Loki's title as the God of Mischief, referencing his brutal eye-gouging incident in Germany during *The Avengers*.

Agent Mobius then grumbled that Loki was less the God of Mischief and more the God of Violence.

What shocked the viewers even more was the revelation that the first hijacking in American history had also been Loki's doing, and he'd even committed the crime with Thor.

Agent Mobius relentlessly pressed Loki about his motivations, forcing him to confront the deepest secrets of his heart. He wanted to know what had made Loki who he was.

This left the audience outside the scene utterly bewildered, unable to grasp Agent Mobius's agenda.

Of course, they didn't know that Mobius was asking these questions to understand Loki better, so he could capture another Loki.

"I know what this place is," Loki declared without hesitation. "It's an illusion—a cruel, meticulously crafted, fear-mongering scam designed by the weak! A mad experiment to control others!"

Even now, he refused to believe that what he was facing was real. Time manipulation was utterly absurd.

"You act like you're the supreme arbiters of power in the entire universe!" As the questions piled up, Loki's composure was about to shatter.

"That's exactly right!" Agent Mobius said with a grin.

"No, you're not! I made my own choices!" Loki snarled, his expression contorted with rage, utterly unwilling to accept this reality.

"Your choices were your own, and that's great. Let's start there. This will definitely get your attention!" Agent Mobius remained unruffled, watching Loki with the amusement one might reserve for a clown.

This was clear not only to the Loki in the video but also to everyone watching outside the screen. They clearly didn't take him seriously, despite having called him the dangerous and terrifying God of Mischief just moments before.

At that moment, the video showed Loki's arrogant declaration during the Battle of New York in *The Avengers*, where he proclaimed himself born to rule.

"That was the truth! I should have... I was so close to claiming everything I deserved!" Loki snapped, his face flushing with anger at being exposed. "When I get it, it will be because I earned it, not because it was destined!"

That scene was a humiliation. He had boasted about his own greatness, only to be defeated by the Avengers. For him, it was an unbearable disgrace.

"Or you and that Time Variance Authority—whatever you call yourselves—give me the Cosmic Cube!" Loki roared, raising his hands. "Honestly, you're pathetic. You're irrelevant, just a stepping stone, an obstacle on my path to success!"

Unexpectedly, the people watching the scene outside the frame showed a hint of agreement. In their minds, everything they had achieved was the result of their own hard work, something they had fought tooth and nail for, not some predetermined fate.

To dismiss it all as "destiny" would be to erase every ounce of their effort.

For the first time, everyone found themselves agreeing with Loki's words.

"Are you finished? You need to take this seriously! If you hadn't taken the Cosmic Cube, you'd be rotting in an Asgardian prison right now!" Agent Mobius said sternly.

With that, Agent Mobius played a scene of Loki being thrown into an Asgardian prison—a scene that included his mother.

"What is this? Boring, another trick! This never happened!" Loki scoffed, refusing to believe it. He was convinced it was some illusion he didn't understand.

As the third princess of Asgard—*ugh, no, scratch that*—as the second prince of Asgard, there was little in the universe he didn't know, let alone such a vast organization.

"It just hasn't happened to you yet!" Agent Mobius, growing impatient with explaining their capabilities, continued, "Listen, the Time Variance Authority knows your entire past, and we know your entire life—your end!"

"Consider it a consolation prize," Mobius said, resuming the playback of the video.

"This is absurd!" Loki refused to believe it. If he accepted this, his entire worldview—his values, his sense of self—would collapse.

To Loki, this was the height of absurdity. As an orphan abandoned by his own father for being too weak, how much had he struggled to achieve his current power?

Thor could effortlessly obtain strength and status, while Loki had to fight tooth and nail for every scrap, never resting, even having to kill his own father in a twisted display of filial piety.

Only he knew how much he had sacrificed. Now, someone was telling him it was all predetermined?

*Go fuck yourself!*
