Children without parents are like this—they can be attacked at any moment.
While this analogy isn't perfectly accurate, it holds some truth.
*A common man is innocent, but possessing a treasure makes him a target.* Yet not all common men are guilty.
When the Time Stone was the Eye of Agamotto in the Ancient One's possession, there was no question of guilt or innocence. She could handle it.
"I never expected Loki to show such a performance in the end," Agent Hill said.
She could never have imagined that Loki would ultimately defend Asgard's honor.
"But don't forget, because of him, hundreds of thousands died on Earth. Right here, beneath our feet, all those casualties were Loki's doing. Don't let his final act change your perception of him. We're not Thor; we have no connection to him!" Tony Stark said coldly.
For someone like him, who had seen patients with severe paranoid schizophrenia, no matter how Loki might be redeemed in the end, one thing would never be absolved: the massive death and destruction he had caused. That couldn't be denied, could it?
If laying down your butcher's knife could instantly make you a Buddha, then why would good people bother cultivating themselves so diligently?
Why not just go on a killing and arson spree, and then lay down your knife at the end to become a Buddha?
"It's like those so-called indulgences. He could live a life of sin, buy an indulgence at the point of death, and have all his sins wiped away? I don't believe in that kind of thing. If there really is a God, I bet even He would find it disgusting!"
Tony Stark sneered repeatedly.
He knew the money-grubbing tactics of Western religions all too well. Those old men loved money and little boys.
A bunch of perverts!
Not that there weren't any truly upright and incorruptible figures, but they were the exception, not the rule.
The foundations were rotten to the core.
If there really was a God in this world, He should send them straight to hell first.
Oh, well, maybe not. After all, when you have god-kings like Odin and Zeus in this world, what's one more God?
Even so, these people probably wouldn't believe him anymore.
*So this is all the gods amount to?*
"But Loki hasn't done any of that yet! I'll do my best to control him!" Thor declared righteously.
His emotions were complex. Though Loki had died at Thanos's hands, seeing him ultimately rediscover his true nature brought him a deep sense of satisfaction.
The others exchanged skeptical glances at Thor. They understood the bond between him and Loki well enough: *My brother abuses me a thousand times, yet I love him like my first love.*
Trying to control him would be nearly impossible.
Thor felt a bit exasperated. *Do they really see me as such a blind fool?*
The Ragnarok of Asgard, initiated by Hela, completed by Fire Giant Surtur, and finalized by Thanos. Tsk tsk, how lucky Asgard was to have three Celestial-Tier experts personally help fulfill this prophecy?
Lin Feng's diary updates continued without pause. The others felt uneasy, yet the words were undeniable.
It seemed that the final destruction of Asgard, the self-fulfilling prophecy of Ragnarok, was the result of a combined effort by three Celestial-Tier experts.
Had even one person been missing, Asgard couldn't have met such a tragic fate.
I wonder what Loki felt when he saw the vision of his entire family being slaughtered? What was it like to realize he was destined to be a villain?
If it were me, I'd be in a terrible mood. But it was precisely that experience that set him on his path to godhood!
Kang the Conqueror's path had its logic, and Loki's path had its own!
Everyone was bewildered. *Loki saw the vision of his family's slaughter? How could that be? Didn't he die first? And how could he know he was destined to be a villain?*
"How is this possible?" Thor asked, puzzled.
"It's possible," Tony Stark replied. "Don't you remember? The Time Variance Authority!" *Only there could Loki transcend the timeline and his own fate, glimpsing a destiny that wasn't originally his!*
The others suddenly remembered. *Yes, only within the TVA could this be possible.*
*And most importantly, wasn't one of the Lokis captured and taken to the TVA?*
Everyone's spirits immediately lifted. Finally, they would have a chance to see that mysterious TVA again?
Though the TVA wasn't the most pressing issue on their minds, when it came to sheer terror, nothing could compare to the Time Variance Authority.
Just moments ago, they had been helpless against those Celestial-Tier powerhouses. Even mighty Asgard had been on the brink of utter destruction under their combined assault. Yet, before the TVA, these formidable Celestial-Tier beings were nothing more than pawns, their every move meticulously planned and accounted for.
But they knew too little.
So, at that moment, they all grew serious.
Whether present or absent—like Spider-Woman Gwen, Stephen Strange, and others—everyone immediately focused.
Especially since they might all end up captured by the TVA themselves, they couldn't afford to ignore it.
Thus, everyone concentrated intently, watching closely. They needed to see if there was any possibility of escape if captured, and what kind of place the TVA truly was.
*Know your enemy and know yourself, and you will win a hundred battles!*
Living up to everyone's expectations, a video appeared below, and the crowd quickly clicked to watch.
The footage showed Agent Mobius and Loki introducing themselves inside an elevator.
"Hello, I'm Agent Mobius!"
Loki, however, ignored him, asking, "Are you taking me somewhere to kill me?"
The crowd noticed Loki was wearing a prisoner's uniform and had a collar around his neck, confirming their suspicions that this was a continuation of the TVA video they'd watched before.
"No, I'm taking you somewhere to talk," Agent Mobius replied calmly.
"I don't want to talk!" Loki said, exasperated.
Agent Mobius, unperturbed, continued, "But you love to lie. You just told one. We all know you love to talk, one after another, endlessly!"
"How long have you been here?" Loki suddenly asked, his curiosity piqued.
"I don't know. It's hard to say. Time flows differently in the Time Variance Authority," Agent Mobius replied.
The elevator doors opened, and Loki, still talking nonstop, asked, "So you're one of the Time Variance Authority's hardworking and brave employees?"
"Yes," Agent Mobius replied.
"You were created by the Time-Keepers?" Loki asked, his face a mask of confusion and disbelief. "To protect the Sacred Timeline?"
*They're still too green to pull this kind of stunt on the God of Mischief,* he thought.
"Yes," Agent Mobius confirmed.
Loki couldn't help but laugh, a bitter, amused sound. "You little backwater operation, controlling the fates of countless people, all while taking orders from three space lizards? It's quite the joke, isn't it?"
Agent Mobius merely smiled faintly. "I thought you didn't want to talk."
He had plenty of experience dealing with Loki. After all, he'd processed more pruned Lokis than he could count.
Under his guidance, Loki entered a room.
"I have to say, this place really feels like it's about to kill me!" Loki complained.
"You don't trust people easily, do you?" Agent Mobius said calmly.
"Only children and dogs trust," Loki retorted coldly. "There's only one person I trust!"
"Just you?" Agent Mobius asked, operating the player. "I love that line. I'm going to get it printed on a T-shirt!"
Loki then asked, "If the Time Variance Authority can truly monitor all of time, why haven't I ever heard of you?"
Loki's question was one everyone wanted to ask. This organization was so incredibly powerful, yet they had left absolutely no trace in history. They knew nothing about them.
If not for Lin Feng, they might have died without ever knowing such a formidable entity existed in the world.
They hoped the video's contents would shed some light on this mystery.
"Because you didn't need to hear about us before!" Agent Mobius replied. "You've always lived within the predetermined path laid out for you."
Mobius's words strangely resonated with Nick Fury.
After all, wasn't S.H.I.E.L.D. just the same?
For ordinary people, such a powerful organization was completely unknown. Sometimes, they even had to operate under the guise of the FBI or CIA.
Isn't it for the same reason?
Those who should know, and are qualified to know, will naturally learn. The rest are those who shouldn't know and aren't qualified to know.
All ordinary people need to know is that they are being well-protected, and that someone is blocking the dark hand reaching out from the shadows—even though that dark hand likely comes from official institutions.
Take the CIA, for example. They might be the world's largest drug lord and the biggest protector of those drug lords. The reason for this? Simply that the US government didn't allocate enough funding for their operations while expecting them to handle major tasks.
To secure sufficient operating funds, they began supporting drug dealers.
But ordinary people would never know, nor would they need to. As long as they pay up obediently when buying their weed, that's all that matters.
Of course, S.H.I.E.L.D. would never do such a thing. After all, their priorities remain above the CIA's. Though their budget is tight, they always manage to scrape by.
