Chapter 359 – The Envious Fatty
"No wonder you said you had a hundred percent chance," the fatty remarked, his face twisted in a look of pure grievance.
"Hey, hey, even without the Limitless Technique, I'm still invincible, you know?" Yusuke replied, his voice carrying a hint of helplessness.
"Tch. Anyway, Suo, you can perform a Domain Expansion, right?" the fatty asked.
"I can."
"Then what are you waiting for? Just finish him off already!" the fatty urged anxiously.
"Don't be in such a rush. Let me have a little fun first," Yusuke said with a faint, playful smirk.
"Eh? Why are you still like this? Even with that personality of yours?" The fatty's face was the picture of shock.
He could only sigh. There was nothing he could do about it; Yusuke had been exactly like this since their previous life.
Deciding to stay out of the fray, the fatty pulled back. Even at his peak, he wouldn't have been able to defeat Ōtsutsuki Tenshiki, let alone now. All he could do was worry for his old friend.
The fatty muttered to himself, "Bro, try to get a handle on that Limitless Technique. It's one of those truly broken, invincible abilities."
He slowly waddled toward the ice throne Yusuke had conjured. But the moment his backside hit the seat, a pained scream tore from his throat. In an instant, the fatty was flash-frozen into a solid ice statue.
A moment later, he flared his crimson energy, shattering the thick layer of ice encasing his body.
"Dammit, Suo! Is this the work of a human? How annoying," the fatty grumbled, looking utterly defeated.
"This is even colder than the Hellish Ice in the Land of the Dead. Shucks, just how strong is that guy?" he complained.
Ōtsutsuki Tenshiki was certainly surprised that Yusuke could withstand his onslaught, but he was far from panicked.
He slowly closed his eyes. When he snapped them open again, a pair of strange eyes stared back at Yusuke—eyes that Yusuke recognized all too well.
They were golden Rinnegan, featuring a crisscross pattern reminiscent of the Mangekyō.
"Mangekyō Rinnegan."
"Covenant of Heaven: Bind!"
A terrifying force instantly froze Yusuke in his tracks. The world around him bled of color, turning into a stark landscape of black and white.
"Great Divine Truth-Seeking Orb."
A reddish-purple Truth-Seeking Orb morphed into a trident and whistled through the air, aimed straight for Yusuke.
As the attack closed in, a surge of power erupted around Yusuke's body.
"Quicksand," Yusuke murmured softly.
Tenshiki's Dojutsu could control the flow of time within a specific space, but Yusuke's Quicksand allowed him to synchronize the time around himself. With a fluid, effortless motion, Yusuke sidestepped the incoming Truth-Seeking Orb.
"Interesting. A Truth-Seeking Orb fused with a Dojutsu," Yusuke noted, his interest piqued.
He reached out and slowly took hold of the Truth-Seeking Orb. Golden chakra light swirled around his hand, and in a heartbeat, the reddish-purple sphere transformed into a sword, which he began to twirl expertly.
Tenshiki's brow furrowed. He had completely lost control over the very Truth-Seeking Orb he had created.
Hatake Yusuke raised the blade.
"Annihilation of the Ten Directions!"
He unleashed a single, devastating slash.
"Great Divine Insight!"
A gateway of chaos manifested from the void. Yusuke's slash was swallowed whole by the gate, before the energy flowed back and merged into Tenshiki's body.
"To think a mere human could actually reach this level," Tenshiki muttered, opening his eyes wide.
He reformed a dark red sword in his own hand.
"Annihilation of the Ten Directions!"
The exact same slash lunged toward Hatake Yusuke. Yusuke's lips curled upward. He swung his sword and shattered the attack with ease.
Tenshiki launched several more slashes in rapid succession, but Yusuke casually swatting them all aside.
Great Divine Insight: A technique that absorbs an opponent's attack into a spatial gate, merging it with the user's body to instantly learn the technique and gain the original owner's insights.
Yusuke was well aware of how the ability worked. However, to him, it was nothing more than a half-baked skill. The chakra consumption was massive, and even though the copied attack was identical in form, its destructive power paled in comparison to the original.
Tenshiki stared at Yusuke, realizing his attacks weren't leaving a single scratch.
At that moment, an idea struck Yusuke.
"Ōtsutsuki Tenshiki, you all consider yourselves gods. In that case..." Yusuke paused for a beat before continuing, "Can you defeat yourself?"
He pressed his palms together in front of his chest, as if manifesting the Yata Mirror.
"Mirror Copy."
A mirror materialized before Yusuke. Stepping out from the glass was a figure—an exact, perfect double of Ōtsutsuki Tenshiki.
Tenshiki's face twisted in disdain. He lunged forward, throwing a heavy punch at his double. Simultaneously, the shadow-Tenshiki swung his own fist. The two blows collided with a deafening crack, sending both combatants reeling back exactly one step.
Tenshiki's eyes narrowed. He had assumed this was a mere Genjutsu, but he now realized the figure before him was truly his equal in every way.
His heart shook. He never expected a human to master such a terrifying technique.
Hatake Yusuke watched the scene with a wide, amused grin. It wasn't every day you got to see someone literally fighting themselves.
Soon, the two Tenshikis were locked in a ferocious, high-speed battle.
"Hahahaha! This is too much! Suo, you're literally killing him mentally!" the fatty howled, rolling on the ground in laughter.
He had disliked Tenshiki from the moment he laid eyes on him. The Ōtsutsuki Clan had long since spat in the face of the natural laws of life and death.
As a God of Death himself, he found the clan loathsome. But more importantly, he was the King of Death, the sovereign of the Land of the Dead. Seeing Tenshiki show up with that arrogant "holier-than-thou" attitude had only served to irritate him further.
"Hehe. I couldn't help it. I only had to move a finger, and that was already his limit," Yusuke said, waving a hand dismissively.
"Remember? I said this once before," Yusuke added.
The fatty immediately finished the sentence, "Back then, you stood with both hands in your pockets, acting like you didn't even know what the word 'opponent' meant!"
"Hahaha. Not bad, Fatty," Yusuke said, his smile as bright and warm as sunlight.
"Tch. Whether it was the last life or this one, you're still stuck with that handsome ikemen face," the fatty muttered, sounding genuinely envious.
