Chapter 360 – Tenshiki Pushed to the Brink
"Tch, didn't I tell you? Being handsome is a lifelong commitment. But looking at you, why are you still the same? With a body that round, no matter how you look at it, you don't fit the title 'God of Death' at all," Hatake Yusuke teased with a smirk.
"Cih, I crossed over with my physical body, unlike you!" the fatty shot back, looking indignant.
He really didn't have much of a choice. To keep his subordinates from looking down on him, he was forced to wrap himself in that "foolish" aura every single day.
"Hahaha, don't be jealous," Yusuke laughed, his smile never fading.
In truth, Yusuke was genuinely happy. They came from the same place, after all, and only the fatty truly understood his particular brand of humor.
"By the way, Suo, how long can that mirror shadow of yours last?" the fatty asked.
"In this state? I can let it keep fighting until he drops from exhaustion," Yusuke replied nonchalantly.
The fatty was slightly taken aback. It was a good thing he hadn't tried to show off earlier, or he'd probably be getting a beatdown right now. No sane person enjoyed being tormented for no reason.
Out on the battlefield, Ōtsutsuki Tenshiki was still embroiled in a fierce struggle against his own shadow.
Tenshiki gritted his teeth. He gathered his Truth-Seeking Orbs around him, pouring a massive amount of chakra into them. The color of the spheres shifted once more, turning into a deep, dark gold.
"Dark Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion: Heavenly God Slash!"
The Truth-Seeking Orbs instantly transformed into colossal golden blades, carrying an unstoppable aura as they cleaved toward the shadow-Tenshiki. At the exact same time, the copy unleashed the identical technique.
The two massive attacks collided in a world-shaking explosion.
Then, cracks began to spiderweb across the body of the shadow-Tenshiki.
"So, that's the limit?" Yusuke remarked, watching the copy crumble.
Tenshiki's eyes burned with rage as he obliterated the shadow. Seeing Yusuke's relaxed demeanor felt like a slap in the face.
"Flame Hell!"
Tenshiki unleashed a catastrophic surge of fire.
"What is this?!" The fatty stared, his eyes wide with shock.
Hatake Yusuke watched the technique with genuine interest.
"Glassy Lament of Eternal Regret!"
Yusuke swung his golden sword. However, the flames acted like Amaterasu, surging forward and even swallowing Yusuke's slash whole.
"Suo, watch out! This guy isn't simple!" the fatty yelled, concerned.
"Those flames... I see it now. So that's how it is," Yusuke said, a smile playing on his lips.
"That is the fire of the sun," he continued, his eyes sparkling with curiosity.
"In that case... Six billion degrees Celsius: Merciless Sun!"
Intense flames erupted around Yusuke's body as well.
The two seas of fire clashed. But instead of merging, they began to viciously consume one another.
Tenshiki said nothing, but Yusuke's flames were slowly being devoured.
Yusuke didn't waste words. He gathered his Truth-Seeking Orbs just as Tenshiki had, arranging them in a perfect circle.
"Super Great Divine Silver Wheel Reincarnation Explosion!"
A blast of freezing wind surged forth, pushing the flames back toward Tenshiki. Yet, Tenshiki remained expressionless.
The fire simply washed over his body.
"Tenseigan? To think it could evolve to such a degree," Tenshiki remarked.
He knew of the eyes because his older brother, Ōtsutsuki Ryūshiki, possessed them. The reason Tenshiki had been able to elevate his Rinnegan to this level was that he had assimilated his own brother's Tenseigan.
"Oh? Surprised by just this?" Yusuke asked playfully.
"Hmph. Brat, did you really think I was like that pile of trash—all power and no brains?" Tenshiki sneered with a cold laugh.
"Oh? Now you've piqued my interest," Yusuke said. His fighting spirit was finally waking up.
Even Madara, who had merged with two fruits, was nowhere near Tenshiki's level. Moreover, the other Ōtsutsuki he had fought barely had any real combat experience. Tenshiki, being far stronger, surely possessed a much more terrifying history of battle.
"You think the fruit produced by the God Tree only increases our strength?" Tenshiki continued coldly. "When the God Tree takes root on a planet, it doesn't just absorb the power of the living beings there; it absorbs their memories as well."
"That explains it," Yusuke said.
"Brat, you have zero chance of winning this time."
Tenshiki's gaze sharpened. Behind him, five gargantuan figures materialized. Though their forms varied, Yusuke recognized them instantly.
"God Trees? You mean, the Ten-Tails?"
"Hahaha! Precisely. Aside from the two God Trees taken by Kaguya and Isshiki, I possess eight fruits. And I have swallowed them all."
"Oh? So you're planning to go all out?" Yusuke asked, a dangerous smile touching his lips.
"I originally intended to wait for his return before personally claiming the Ten-Tails," Tenshiki said.
The five Ten-Tails slowly merged into Tenshiki's body.
A moment later, a towering, monumental figure emerged.
"This is the most saturated state I can currently achieve," Tenshiki declared.
The ripened chakra fruit of a planet, combined with those eight monstrous Ten-Tails, had all converged within him. Even Tenshiki wasn't sure exactly how powerful he was now. Due to the God Tree's influence, the memories and abilities of the beings he had absorbed were now his. At this moment, it wasn't just power—Tenshiki's combat experience surpassed almost any living being.
"Is that so? Well, it's not that special. Catch," Yusuke said.
He tossed the fruit in his hand toward Ōtsutsuki Tenshiki.
Tenshiki's eyes widened. Even the fatty was gobsmacked. Neither of them understood why Hatake Yusuke would do such a thing.
However, the fatty understood a little bit. Yusuke's nature hadn't changed much since the old days.
"Dammit. This guy is still the same," the fatty grumbled.
Back then, seeing a scene like this would have nearly made him wet himself in terror. But that was exactly why he felt calm now. He knew Yusuke would never gamble with his family or the person who had waited so long for him just for the sake of a joke.
Tenshiki didn't understand the gesture, but he ate the fruit nonetheless. After swallowing it, his aura skyrocketed to an even more terrifying level.
Countless Great Divine Truth-Seeking Orbs manifested behind Tenshiki. Each one was enormous, rivaling Kaguya's Expansive Truth-Seeking Orb—and this wasn't even his final expansion technique yet.
"Now, this is getting interesting," Yusuke said, smiling.
A massive Truth-Seeking Orb shot toward Yusuke. He balled his right hand into a fist, a shield of light shimmering around it. Then, with a single punch, he struck the void.
A horrific shockwave slammed into the Truth-Seeking Orb. Both the space and the sphere shattered simultaneously.
Seeing this, Tenshiki gathered chakra in his palm. A small sphere, roughly the size of a planet, formed and was hurled toward Yusuke.
Yusuke immediately coated his body in Armament Haki and Conqueror's Haki.
"Iron Fist, Steel Bone!"
He punched the energy sphere from a distance. In an instant, Tenshiki's attack was torn to shreds.
Yusuke's body vanished. A sphere reformed in his hand.
"Void Style: Compression!"
An attack carrying unimaginable pressure blazed toward Tenshiki.
The Truth-Seeking Orbs behind Tenshiki immediately converged and shrank, forming a dense, impenetrable shield around his body.
Tenshiki managed to withstand the blow, then used his Dojutsu to vanish from Yusuke's sight.
However, Hatake Yusuke had already seen the future. He appeared a step ahead at the exact spot where Tenshiki was about to emerge and kicked him away.
Tenshiki quickly utilized gravitational pull to stabilize himself. At the same time, he activated his Rinnegan, pinning the gravity onto Yusuke's body. Massive boulders flew through the air, entombing Hatake Yusuke within.
"Great Nothingness."
"Great Omniscience."
Tenshiki activated his Dojutsu once more. The sphere of rock trapping Yusuke began to compress even further.
(Great Nothingness: Increases the mass of surrounding objects to an extreme level, multiplying the destructive power of Chibaku Tensei several times over.)
(Great Omniscience: Expands or contracts the density of objects, making escape nearly impossible.)
Believing the battle was over, Tenshiki looked up at the Chibaku Tensei, only to see it burst into a million pieces.
Hatake Yusuke was completely unfazed. Though his vision had been briefly obscured, preventing him from copying those two eye techniques, he possessed the Gravity Fruit and Float Fruit. Attacks like these were meaningless to him.
Yusuke clutched lightning in his palm.
"Judgment of the Thunder Realm: Ninefold Prohibition!"
Nine bolts of golden lightning streaked toward Tenshiki. Despite the lightning's blinding speed, Tenshiki stood his ground, unfazed thanks to his Ultimate Eyes.
