Chapter 358 - Soldier Boy is Still Alive?! Homelander Nearly Gets Wiped Out and Flees Like a Dog!

There was no longer any room for doubt.

Otherwise, how could such a coincidence occur—where the roster of one superhero organization so closely mirrored another? This was far beyond what mere coincidence could explain.

And so, Vought International's true capabilities were laid bare.

It seemed they could, at will, manufacture specific super-soldiers to meet their exact needs! Their research in this field was truly leagues ahead of everyone else.

"Compound V."

The Journal repeatedly mentioned this crucial compound. Without a doubt, this was Vought's secret to creating super-soldiers.

One had to admit, the name was utterly unimaginative. It was right up there with "The Boys" and "The Seven." Apparently, the people in this world were generally terrible at naming things.

And if this was Compound V, didn't that mean there were Compounds I through IV before it?

Playboy couldn't help but speculate. The previous four generations must have been failures, and it wasn't until the fifth iteration that they finally achieved success.

This compound was used to create numerous superheroes.

This was what truly amazed Tony.

To achieve such results in just five generations was indeed impressive.

[Haha, Soldier Boy and Homelander are actually father and son. Can you believe it?]

[And Homelander's son has completely inherited his abilities. He's a miniature Superman in the flesh.]

[If these three—grandfather, father, and son—were to join forces, they would truly be invincible.]

[Unfortunately, neither Soldier Boy nor Homelander are any good. If they actually got along as a family, they'd be a real problem.]

[Luckily, Soldier Boy despises Homelander and even promised Butcher he'd take him out.]

[Poor Homelander. He almost got killed.]

"..."

Starlight was speechless.

Did the owner of the journal have some kind of prejudice against super-soldiers, or had she been kept in the dark all this time?

According to Zhou Cheng, were none of the well-known superheroes any good?

Even Soldier Boy was looked down upon by the other party.

Soldier Boy was a man from a past era, and Starlight didn't know much about him.

But even so, she knew the general story.

Soldier Boy had led his own team and won glorious victories in war!

Unlike the superheroes of today, who are merely glorified criminals-fighters, Soldier Boy was a true hero. A hero who had actually seen combat on the battlefield.

Yet, in Zhou Cheng's words, this "wasn't any good person either"?

Starlight really wanted to know: in Zhou Cheng's eyes, who actually counted as a good person?

Queen Maeve?

Zhou Cheng had listed the dirty laundry of everyone in The Seven, yet he had completely spared Queen Maeve!

Fine, there was also herself. He had acknowledged her joining The Seven, but again, he hadn't mentioned any of her scandals.

Did this mean that, in Zhou Cheng's eyes, neither Queen Maeve nor she had any dirty laundry?

That they weren't considered scum?

Should she feel honored?

After a brief inner monologue, Starlight refocused her attention on the Journal and immediately frowned.

Soldier Boy wanted to kill Homelander?

What was this Journal talking about? Soldier Boy and Homelander weren't even from the same era.

When Soldier Boy was presumed dead, Homelander probably hadn't even been born yet.

Well, even if he had been born, he would have been just an infant!

The two were completely different people with no connection whatsoever. How could it be possible for Soldier Boy to want to kill Homelander?

And who was this Butcher?

The Journal made it clear: the one truly intent on taking down Homelander was this Butcher!

Butcher?

Judging by the nickname, he must be a superhero too.

Starlight tilted her head, thinking hard, but she couldn't recall any hero by that name.

Still, whoever this Butcher was, he had some nerve targeting Homelander.

*That* was Homelander we were talking about.

The world's most powerful and invincible super-soldier, he existed on a completely different level from all other supers.

Most supers, no matter how formidable, were limited to a single power.

But Homelander? He shattered that rule.

He possessed a body of steel, making him immune to every weapon on Earth.

His eyes could blast terrifying heat beams, slicing through anything in their path.

He could fly. He possessed unparalleled strength.

And he had super hearing, super sight, super speed, X-ray vision—the list went on.

And those were just his *publicly known* abilities.

Heaven only knew what other powers he might be hiding.

If a normal person's strength is limited to a scale of 1 to 10, and an average supe can reach 11 to 20...

Then Homelander starts at 100!

The gap is just that overwhelming!

To everyone, Homelander is a super-mountain that can only be looked up to, yet cannot be harmed in any way.

For Butcher to even dare to plot against a being of this level... one can only say he is truly a warrior.

And the part about Homelander almost being taken out left Starlight even more bewildered.

From the looks of it, did the Journal mean Soldier Boy actually fought Homelander?

What a joke!

Did Soldier Boy attack baby Homelander?

That's just too absurd.

"Soldier Boy."

Tony, standing before another Journal, immediately focused on this superhero.

Although Tony's knowledge of the superheroes in The Boys universe was still superficial and not very detailed...

But since Homelander was equivalent to Superman, he must be one of the top-tier beings, right?

And this Soldier Boy, who could have almost killed Homelander, was enough to prove his strength.

One could only say, as expected of Homelander's father?

Moreover, the Journal also mentioned that even if these supes were artificially created, their abilities could still be inherited.

So, if Homelander is Soldier Boy's test-tube baby, does that mean Soldier Boy is another Superman?

The Journal also explicitly stated that Soldier Boy utterly despised Homelander, which only further highlighted Soldier Boy's sheer power.

The only shame was that Soldier Boy was no saint either.

This left Playboy utterly speechless.

What was wrong with this world? Why were all the top-tier superheroes such terrible people?

If that were the case, couldn't these superheroes—no, supervillains—do whatever they pleased?

What power could restrain them, keep them in check?

Other superhero organizations?

Wait a minute.

The Boys?

Playboy's mind raced.

So far, the Journal had mentioned two superhero groups. One was The Seven, and the other was The Boys.

In fact, the Journal had brought up The Boys first, but it only went on to describe The Seven, leaving The Boys completely unintroduced.

Yet, Satan had used "The Boys" as the codename for that entire universe.

Clearly, compared to The Seven, The Boys were the representative organization of that universe.

Just like the Avengers in his own universe, the Ultimate Team in the Ultimate Universe, and the X-Men in the TRN414 Universe.

In other words, there was a high probability that The Boys were formed to deal with that scummy organization, The Seven!

The Playboy quickly reached this obvious conclusion after a brief moment of thought.

Unfortunately, however, the Journal had yet to provide any introduction to The Boys.

But if Tony were to guess, he wondered if that Butcher was a member of The Boys?

After all, the Journal had stated very clearly that Butcher was Homelander's enemy and was fighting against him!

[For the first time in his life, Homelander felt a mortal threat and fled in panic!]

[He definitely never expected that someone in this world could actually kill him, right?]

[So, Soldier Boy's abilities are truly a bit broken. Not only is he unstoppable when he unleashes his ultimate move, but he can also make others lose their superpowers.]

[He's simply the nemesis of all superpowered beings!]

[Kimiko just happened to get caught in Soldier Boy's energy blast and subsequently lost all her powers.]

Homelander was beaten into a panicked retreat?

Starlight couldn't help but shake her head repeatedly.

She knew Soldier Boy was powerful—after all, he was essentially another Homelander. That he was stronger than your average superhero was unquestionable.

But the idea that Soldier Boy could force Homelander into a panicked retreat? Starlight still couldn't bring herself to believe it.

For one thing, Soldier Boy couldn't even fly!

In Starlight's eyes, the two were on the same level. Yet the Journal's description clearly stated that Soldier Boy was far more powerful than Homelander.

Of course, what Starlight didn't know was that the battle Zhou Cheng described wasn't Soldier Boy's solo victory. It was the result of him teaming up with two other super-soldiers.

In a one-on-one fight, Soldier Boy still stood no chance against Homelander. Homelander was, without question, the strongest combatant in the world of *The Boys*.

"Stripping someone of their superpowers?"

"Soldier Boy can actually do that?"

Seeing this spoiler, Starlight was stunned and could no longer keep her composure.

*Could the Journal actually be telling the truth?*

*Soldier Boy can really do something that incredible?*

If that were true, then it would make sense for him to send Homelander running for his life.

However, Starlight had never heard of Soldier Boy possessing such an ability.

Of course, none of this proved anything.

After all, Soldier Boy was a figure from a bygone era. Starlight hadn't even been born when he was at the height of his fame. It was only natural that she knew so little about him.

Besides, who was Kimiko anyway?

The Journal explicitly stated that she had lost her superpowers because of Soldier Boy. Without a doubt, this meant that even if she lacked a codename, she was still a super-soldier. And precisely because she had no codename, she probably wasn't a famous one—perhaps Vought International had never even marketed her.

As a result, Starlight paid little attention to Kimiko.

Compared to this woman, Starlight was far more concerned with another question:

When exactly did the battle mentioned in the Journal take place?

Logically, Homelander was just a baby when Soldier Boy died, so this battle must have happened in the past.

In Soldier Boy's era.

But Soldier Boy's era had no Homelander!

And at the same time, Homelander's era had no Soldier Boy!

The timeline was a paradox. It made no sense at all.

Unless...

"Could it be that Soldier Boy never died?"

Starlight's eyes widened slightly, her face a mask of disbelief.

*That should be impossible, right?*

But if you followed the logic of the Journal, the only way it made sense was if Soldier Boy was still alive.

"So this is the extent of Soldier Boy's power?"

Tony, reading the other Journal, couldn't help but murmur in astonishment.

The Journal's brief descriptions had already given the Playboy a clear idea of Soldier Boy's power level.

Even so, he never expected Soldier Boy to be so completely broken.

*If that's the case, isn't Soldier Boy practically invincible?*

Against ordinary humans, being a Super Soldier naturally gave him an overwhelming advantage.

But against other Super Soldiers?

That was where he truly shone!

Soldier Boy could nullify their superpowers!

No wonder even Satan had used the word "bug" to describe him.

*I wonder if Soldier Boy is a member of The Boys?*

*That would be the only way to balance the scales between The Boys and The Seven.*

The Playboy made this assumption as if it were the most obvious conclusion.

[But for now, Soldier Boy is still imprisoned in Russia, living the miserable life of a lab rat.]

[What a tragic figure. Betrayed by his own team and locked away in Russia for all those years.]

[Finally rescued by The Boys, only to find that the enemy he has to face is his own son.]

[Alright, even so, Soldier Boy kept his promise. Who would have thought Butcher, that pig of a teammate, would turn his back on him at the last minute!]

[Poor Soldier Boy. He barely got a few days of freedom before being locked up again.]

[What a pity.]

*Soldier Boy is really alive?*

*That's impossible!*

Starlight found it truly difficult to accept this information for the time being.

And even if Soldier Boy were still alive, why would he be imprisoned in Russia?

Everyone knew that Soldier Boy had died in Ohio.

What on earth was the Journal saying?

Could the Russians have secretly captured Soldier Boy?

But the Journal also mentioned that Soldier Boy was betrayed by his own team!

So what was really going on?
