Moreover, this individual claimed to be the "Martian Manhunter."
Whether this nickname was self-proclaimed or given to him by others, the word "Hunter" conveyed crucial information to Clark.
This was someone who specialized in hunting prey on Mars.
Or, more accurately, a Martian by profession, someone who hunted for a living.
This clearly indicated that he was a "professional warrior," and a remarkably powerful one at that.
The diary had stated that this Martian Manhunter was currently the only person on Earth who could rival Clark. That alone was enough to speak volumes.
The question remained: was this Martian Manhunter good or evil? A superhero or a supervillain?
If he were a superhero, there would be nothing to worry about. But if he were a supervillain, that would truly be a headache.
I feel like the Martian Manhunter and Clark are quite similar.
One is the last Kryptonian, the other the last Martian, both secretly living on Earth.
Their abilities are surprisingly similar: super speed, strength, rapid healing, flight, and heat vision!
Beyond that, they possess shapeshifting abilities rivaling the Skrulls, mental control, and invisibility—they're practically omnipotent.
It makes you wonder why Martian Manhunter didn't intervene in past major events. During the Doomsday battle, for example, Superman wouldn't have had to die.
Martian Manhunter would have been the perfect candidate to wield the Kryptonite Gun.
Could it be that he was already impersonating General Swanwick at the time?
When the diary began detailing information about Martian Manhunter, Clark's interest immediately piqued.
Soon, a look of astonishment spread across his face.
He never imagined that Martian Manhunter's situation would be so similar to his own—the last "Son of Mars."
Could it be that the Martian race had also been wiped out?
What had happened to the Martians?!
Clark couldn't possibly know the specific reasons behind this, but the Martian Manhunter's abilities were simply too numerous!
He possessed every power that Clark had, and many that he didn't.
Some of these abilities, such as shapeshifting and mental control, posed significant challenges even for Superman.
Invisibility, of course, would offer little advantage against Clark, given his dual defenses of X-ray vision and super-hearing.
Even if X-ray vision couldn't pierce the Martian Manhunter's invisibility, his super-hearing would still detect his voice.
But shapeshifting and mental control would trouble even Superman.
Fortunately, the tone of the diary suggested that the Martian Manhunter wasn't a supervillain, merely someone who had been hiding on Earth, rarely making a move.
Moreover, it seemed he had been impersonating a general named Swanwick!
Clark couldn't help but fall into deep thought.
Why would the Martian Manhunter impersonate a general?
After all, a general's position was highly sensitive, involving matters of grave importance.
If he truly wanted to cause trouble, he could bring immense disaster to Earth.
Beyond that,
Clark gained a deeper understanding of his battle with Doomsday.
It was clear that in that fight, the immortal and endlessly evolving Doomsday had ultimately fallen to the "Kryptonite Gun," a devastating weapon.
Clark suddenly understood.
It seemed that "Kryptonite" wasn't just his personal fatal weakness, but likely a fatal weakness for all Kryptonians.
The diary had long stated that Doomsday was created from General Zod's corpse!
And it was obvious that
even he couldn't match Doomsday in that battle. That's why he ultimately resorted to the "Kryptonite Gun" to kill the creature.
But the Kryptonite Gun weakened not only Doomsday, but also Superman himself.
So, was that why he ultimately died at Doomsday's hands?
However,
such a scenario was now impossible.
This time, Clark hadn't killed General Zod at all.
General Zod's corpse simply didn't exist anymore!
No matter what, the future Martian Manhunter has decided to stop staying on the sidelines.
He's already declared his intention to join forces with Batman against Darkseid!
Darkseid—he's probably the ultimate boss of the DCEU, right? With his Omega Beams, even Superman stands no chance.
Based on the Justice League's current performance, Earth is in real danger.
But then again, there's no need to worry too much about this kind of thing.
Even if the world gets destroyed, it's not a big deal—after all, there's still the Flash.
Remember, the Flash isn't just fast. He wields the Speed Force, one of the Four Fundamental Forces of the DC Universe!
The DCEU's ultimate boss!
Clark's expression turned solemn.
This was the official seal of approval from the diary!
Though Clark still hadn't figured out the exact meaning of the abbreviation "DCEU," it was clear this acronym encompassed their entire universe.
So, the sentence translates to: "Darkseid is the most powerful villain in the entire universe."
Even for Clark, such a statement carried immense weight.
*Could the forces coveting Earth from across the cosmos truly be this terrifying?*
Indeed.
According to the diary's description, Steppenwolf came to Earth because his death had removed all restraints on the Mother Box, prompting it to send him a signal.
But now?
Without the destruction of General Zod's body, Doomsday would never have been born. Logically, Clark shouldn't have died either.
Following this logic, the Mother Box wouldn't have sent a signal to Steppenwolf.
Steppenwolf's attempt to transport Darkseid here wouldn't have happened.
But this was only temporary!
After all, as Clark had previously analyzed, Darkseid and his forces had been eyeing Earth for a long time.
Even without Steppenwolf's series of events, they would likely have invaded Earth anyway.
The process might have differed from the diary's account, and the timing might have been delayed, but the outcome would have been the same.
This potential threat, however, remained constant.
How could Clark dare to be careless in the slightest?
Even the Martian Manhunter, who had always remained aloof, now decided to join the others in confronting Darkseid, which spoke volumes.
"Omega Beam."
Clark's gaze grew solemn as he focused on the term "Omega Beam."
Though he had never seen this term before and didn't know what this so-called "Omega Beam" was, he had no doubt it was one of Darkseid's signature moves—a key weapon in his formidable arsenal.
How could Clark possibly take this lightly?
In an instant, he made up his mind: once this wave of spoilers ended, he would thoroughly investigate the Omega Beam.
But how?
Simple.
Even if his father, Jor-El, back at the North Pole didn't know, there were still several interdimensional contacts he could reach out to.
That shouldn't be a problem.
Having made up his mind, Clark refocused on the diary. Another word immediately caught his attention:
*Speed Force*.
This term also appeared for the first time.
Given its name, which included the character for "speed," it was undoubtedly a power that granted super-speed, perfectly aligning with the Flash's abilities.
This part made sense.
But the Speed Force was actually one of the Four Fundamental Forces of the Universe?
*Holy shit, that's a terrifyingly high-level concept.*
Though Clark had never heard of the Four Fundamental Forces of the Universe, the mere mention of "cosmic" and "fundamental forces" made it obvious, even to someone using their "thighs to think," that this was a terrifying power of immense origin.
*Looks like I've been underestimating the Flash all this time.*
The thought immediately struck Clark.
After learning about the Flash from the diary, Clark had simply assumed he was just someone who ran fast, no big deal.
After all, Clark himself was also very fast.
Of course...
The diary also mentioned Flash's earth-shattering ability to reverse time, yet Clark never truly took him seriously.
He even subconsciously thought that if running fast could truly reverse time, he might be able to do it himself in the future.
But Clark never imagined that behind Flash's incredible speed lay such an awe-inspiring divine power!
With such an overwhelmingly powerful force backing him, how simple could Flash really be?
That was the primal energy of the universe!
The diary even suggested that against enemies even it couldn't defeat, Flash was Earth's ultimate trump card.
This only further highlighted the matter.
Truly worthy of the Speed Force!
Not only does it grant Flash miraculous abilities like self-healing and phasing through walls, but most importantly, it allows him to reverse time!
And the DCEU's time rules aren't as convoluted as Marvel's. Here, changing the past *does* change the future.
Thus, Flash's abilities are absolutely crucial in this DC Universe.
Take the Justice League's battle against Steppenwolf, for instance. Although Superman arrived in time to defeat him, it was still too late.
The Mother Box exploded.
Even Superman was instantly reduced to ashes, and the entire Earth was destroyed.
Only Flash, hidden within the Speed Force, remained unharmed and instantly healed the injuries he sustained from the Parademons.
Then, he ran at full speed, reversed time, and single-handedly turned the tide of the battle.
"I truly underestimated Flash," Clark couldn't help but exclaim.
From the diary's description, it was clear that Flash wasn't just fast, as Clark had previously thought.
He also possessed miraculous abilities like self-healing and phasing through walls.
Even Clark couldn't phase through walls.
Moreover, the diary used the word "etc." when describing Flash's abilities, indicating that the list provided was only a fraction of his full capabilities!
The Flash must possess other abilities besides self-healing, phasing through walls, and time travel.
At this moment, Clark also realized that simply moving at high speed doesn't directly enable time travel.
The real reason the Flash can travel through time isn't his speed, but the Speed Force behind it!
Truly worthy of being one of the Four Fundamental Forces of the Universe!
It can even achieve the impossible feat of reversing time.
But... in the Marvel Universe, changing the past doesn't change the future?
Why is that?
What kind of bullshit time rule is this?
Changing the past should naturally alter the future—that's the most obvious, unquestionable law of time, right?
Yet the Marvel Universe operates differently!
This means that even if someone travels back in time and does a series of things, the events that have already occurred remain unchanged?
So if someone went back in time and killed a person, their future self wouldn't die at all?
That's utterly inconceivable!
Clark couldn't fathom how this could have happened.
Besides, it wasn't his universe, so after a brief moment of curiosity, he didn't dwell on it.
He silently mused that at least in the Marvel universe, he didn't have to worry about the Flash resetting the universe. Then, he turned his attention back to the diary.
His expression instantly grew grave.
The Mother Box's explosion had reduced even his own freakishly durable body to ashes, and it had even destroyed the entire Earth!
*Hiss!*
Even with Clark's current strength, he couldn't help but gasp.
*How could the Mother Box be so terrifyingly powerful?*
All this time, Clark had only thought of the Mother Box as a super-intelligent computer.
He never imagined it was such a devastating weapon!
The thought that such a terrifying superweapon now existed on Earth unsettled him.
But what about the Flash?
He had emerged completely unharmed from such a catastrophic attack!
This only further highlighted the Flash's extraordinary nature.
Of course, this also further highlighted the extraordinary nature of the Speed Force.
"So, in that battle against Steppenwolf, did we actually lose at first?" Clark murmured to himself.
This was something he hadn't anticipated.
Based on the diary's casual description, Clark had assumed the battle ended when he defeated Steppenwolf.
But it turned out there was a twisted "story" involving the Flash reversing time.
Despite his initial surprise, this example undeniably gave Clark a surge of confidence.
The diary was right: if the Flash could reverse time, didn't that mean they all had a chance to start over?
That was their greatest source of strength!
