On the battlefield around the outskirts of Kaguya Island, the fighting continued unabated. Large numbers of Strike Daggers and Duel Daggers surged onto the shoreline.
The Calamity Gundam remained mounted on the Raider Gundam in MA form, the two of them staying far away and firing sneak attacks at the Freedom Gundam and the Justice Gundam with twin high-energy long-range beam cannons and machine guns.
Even the Forbidden Gundam stayed at a distance, firing railguns at Tolle's Flight Armor Strike Gundam. It also launched guided plasma beams toward Tolle's position, twisting their trajectories to strike at Kira and Athrun instead.
After closing in, the Strike Daggers and Duel Daggers continuously fired their beam rifles at the Izumo. Fortunately, with Yatahabu armor and layered armor plating, there was no need to worry about such weak beam attacks causing any damage at all.
Before long, the Kusanagi shot out at high speed along the mass driver.
When Orga spotted the Kusanagi, he immediately said to Clotho, "Oh? Another big one's coming out. Let's head to the end of the mass driver and take it out."
Clotho grinned maliciously. "Good idea. If we destroy it, maybe we'll get punished a bit less when we get back. Let's go."
The Raider Gundam immediately carried the Calamity Gundam and moved toward the mass driver's launch point.
Not only did Tolle notice their movement, but Kira and Athrun noticed it as well.
"Athrun!"
"Yeah, got it."
The two of them immediately piloted their machines and charged toward the Calamity and Raider Gundams.
Tolle ignored the harassment from the Forbidden Gundam and sprinted along the mass driver, engines at full power as he stayed tightly alongside the Kusanagi.
At that moment, the Earth Alliance's offensive intensity suddenly weakened. They all held their breath, waiting for the instant the Kusanagi launched so they could unleash their attacks.
Just as the Kusanagi broke free from the mass driver—
"Remote shields! All units deploy—electromagnetic shields, full power!"
At Tolle's command, three remote shields shot out from behind the Flight Armor Strike Gundam.
They positioned themselves in front of the Kusanagi—directly facing the Earth Alliance MS forces—forming a triangular formation and jointly deploying a massive electromagnetic shield.
At the same time, the Calamity, Forbidden, Raider, and the Earth Alliance MS units continuously aimed their weapons at the Kusanagi, launching a ferocious barrage.
However, all of those attacks were intercepted and nullified by the electromagnetic shield generated by the three remote shields.
The Kusanagi continued climbing higher and higher, successfully escaping the Earth Alliance's attack range.
Watching the Kusanagi ascend on the monitor, along with the defensive electromagnetic shield formed by the three remote shields, Azrael said with a jealous expression, "Hurry! Order them to shoot down that blue-white-black machine. And capture those flying shields at all costs."
The Atlantic Federation commander immediately relayed the order to the MS units.
Large numbers of Strike Daggers rushed toward Tolle and the three remote shields that were descending.
Tolle immediately activated the focus command and the PX system. Using his spatial perception ability, he controlled the three remote shields and fired their beam rifles at the incoming enemies.
"Funnels!" Tolle shouted dramatically, then watched with satisfaction as the remote shields under his control unleashed beam after beam. He said smugly:
"I can't make mini funnels yet, but big ones are this easy. Maybe I should make a few more later—give every machine one large funnel… no, remote shield. When everyone uses them together for a group attack, that'll be insanely flashy."
However, the slaughter by the remote shields didn't last long.
The Strike Daggers raised their shields and charged in without fear of death, restricting the shields' maneuvering space.
Two machines even pressed their shields together to pin one of the remote shields in place, trapping it between them so it couldn't move.
Tolle curled his lip into a grin. "I knew you'd try this—thinking of stealing my remote shields. You think the tails on these shields are just decorative?
Remote shield—electrothermal whip, spinning attack!"
Under Tolle's control, the electrothermal whip at the tail of the remote shield began spinning at high speed, slicing the two pinning machines cleanly in half.
The other two remote shields cooperated as well, alternating between firing beam rifles and swinging electrothermal whips as they swept through the Strike Dagger formation, shredding large numbers of machines into fragments.
"Hmph, that's what you get for coveting my equipment!" Tolle then said to Kira and Athrun, "Kira, Athrun, return to the Izumo first. I'll cover you."
At the same time, two remote shields moved in front of the Freedom Gundam and the Justice Gundam, providing them with defensive cover.
Looking at the Three Drugged's machines, Kira asked worriedly, "Are you going to be alright on your own?"
"Don't worry. The Flight Armor Strike's aerial mobility isn't any worse than the Strike's, and with the PX system on top of that, there's absolutely no problem.
Even though it doesn't have a nuclear reactor, it's got seven high-performance batteries. Relax."
Athrun said to Kira, "Kira, let's launch one more attack before we leave."
"Athrun." Kira immediately understood and nodded, activating the multi-lock system. He and the Justice Gundam lined up all of their weapons and unleashed a full-salvo, map-wide attack on the Earth Alliance MS forces.
Seeing this, Tolle joined in as well, firing the remote shields, beam cannons, beam rifle, and micro homing missiles all at once in a full-salvo barrage.
In an instant, the battlefield erupted in flames as large numbers of Strike Daggers and Duel Daggers were destroyed.
"Tolle, we're heading out first. Catch up as soon as you can."
"Got it, Kira. I'll be right there."
After the attack ended, Kira and Athrun returned to the Izumo's hangar first.
Tolle recalled the energy-depleted remote shields to recharge and was just about to withdraw—when the Three Drugged suddenly entered PX system overclock mode and charged straight at him at high speed.
They continuously fired their solid-ammo weapons as well, trying to use the shockwaves from the explosions to knock the Flight Armor Strike Gundam away.
"Hmph, haven't you learned your lesson yet? You think I can't overclock too? Since you're here, don't even think about leaving."
Tolle also directly entered overclock mode and charged toward the Three Drugged's machines.
"Brother… he'll be okay, right? Why hasn't he returned yet?" Lynn Minmay and Ange watched Tolle's battle from the bridge, their faces filled with worry.
