Aiden Grant spoke with such calmness that his eyes, intently fixed on Lily Shaw, showed no extra emotion. He just looked at her quietly, with a peaceful gaze.
Eldest Young Master Grant's composure gave Lily Shaw the feeling that for him, impotence was as normal as eating or drinking water, and he felt no shame in stating it.
Lily Shaw's gaze lingered deeply as she met Aiden Grant's eyes. The probing within her was well hidden, and the wariness in her heart had lessened quite a bit due to those three words he said and his calm demeanor, but it wasn't enough to let her guard down.
With so many women not chosen by Eldest Young Master Grant, why did he pick her? In terms of looks, there were women far more beautiful than her; in terms of family background, many women far surpassed hers; in terms of intelligence, she wasn't stupid, but not smart enough for Eldest Young Master Grant to acknowledge her existence.
"Eldest Young Master Grant, may I ask why you chose me to be your flash marriage partner? This question is very important to me." Lily Shaw smiled lightly; she didn't like playing hide-and-seek and lacked the mood for it.
She wasn't skilled at beating around the bush or taking detours. She preferred to speak directly and leave if there's nothing else!
Aiden Grant's gaze remained peaceful, but the sharpness and dominance hidden within his eyes were unmistakably revealed when he spoke: "Miss Shaw, do you believe in love at first sight?"
When Eldest Young Master Grant said this, many emotions flashed across his face: sharpness, nostalgia, coldness, arrogance, and even an emotion that Lily Shaw couldn't understand.
For a man who can perfectly control his emotions like him, this was a bit out of control.
Lily Shaw also noticed Aiden Grant's loss of composure, but she didn't blame herself for it; she was always self-aware, seeing through things and living rationally.
Having lived twenty-three years, rational as she was, she plunged headfirst into the deep pit that was Miles Morgan, entangled for ten years yearning for warmth.
If not for the absurd drama half an hour ago, Lily Shaw would still be struggling in that deep pit.
"Eldest Young Master Grant, the so-called love at first sight is nothing but an attraction to appearance." Lily Shaw said this brightly, then continued: "Eldest Young Master Grant, to ask an offensive question, is it because you saw that farcical drama earlier, that you think I would agree to your flash marriage request out of heartbreak and help you cover up the truth of impotence? But, Eldest Young Master Grant, that reason is invalid."
Aiden Grant's emotions were once again completely controlled, looking at her with an ambiguous smile: "Miss Shaw, then do you believe in savoring the taste? Having eaten a memorable dish years ago, still yearning for it after many years?"
Lily Shaw looked at him a bit confused. What did he mean by these words? Her memory was excellent, never forgetful, and she was certain she had never met Eldest Young Master Grant.
"Miss Shaw, I must remind you that marital obligations aren't just about harmony in bed. Miss Shaw, time is running out. What have you decided?" Eldest Young Master Grant frowned as he looked at the conflicted Lily Shaw.
Lily Shaw bit her lips, "Eldest Young Master Grant, I..." need more time to consider.
Aiden Grant sensed her hesitation, and after a cool smile, his aura changed, revealing an overwhelming presence: "Miss Shaw, I forgot to tell you that since you sat down here, our marriage certificate is already being processed. It's probably on its way."
