Chapter 422 - Chapter 422: The Admiral's Shadow

## The Unstoppable Zanpakutō

Rosen frowned slightly, watching the Crescent Moon Cross Slash buckle under the combined pressure of Whitebeard, Shiki, and Big Mom. It wasn't fear—just a flicker of mild surprise at their combined might.

"Bankai," he stated, voice devoid of warmth. "Tensa Zangetsu."

The air shattered.

A blinding pillar of golden light erupted from Rosen, piercing the sky and sea. When the radiance faded, his Justice Cloak was gone, replaced by a black, fur-trimmed shihakushō that billowed in a wind only he could feel. The dual blades in his hands vanished, replaced by a single, sleek katana—the true form of his blade.

The three Emperors' faces hardened. They had seen this form during his battle with Kaido. It was the power that had brought the Beast to his knees.

Rosen raised his left hand, index finger extended. A sphere of crackling purple energy condensed at the tip.

"Wang Xu's Flash."

He flicked it forward.

The Cero ray didn't just fly—it warped space. It slammed into the tidal wave of Conqueror's Haki, halting its advance instantly. For a heartbeat, the two forces locked, screaming in protest, before detonating into a crimson pillar that vaporized the surrounding ocean.

## Flash Step

Before the shockwave could clear, Rosen vanished. Not Soru. Not a projectile. He simply ceased to exist in one spot and appeared in another.

He reappeared directly in front of Charlotte Linlin.

A horned mask now concealed his face, radiating a chilling, predatory aura. Linlin's eyes widened. Her Observation Haki screamed a warning, but her body was already moving.

"Emperor Sword—Rending Blade!"

Napoleon transformed into a saber wreathed in black lightning, scything toward Rosen's head.

Rosen didn't flinch. He raised Tensa Zangetsu, catching the colossal blade with barely a motion. Sparks flew as the black blades met. Despite Linlin's monstrous strength, Rosen held her fast, immovable as a mountain.

"Get back!" Whitebeard roared, sensing the danger.

"Getsuga Tenshō."

Rosen's left hand struck the flat of his blade. A torrent of black energy erupted—a violent crescent of death that engulfed Big Mom whole.

High above, Prometheus shrieked in fury and unleashed a pillar of orange flame. Rosen merely glanced upward. Streaks of scarlet Haki—jagged and sharp—shot from his body, slicing the elemental fire apart as if it were cloth.

A piercing scream tore from the darkness of the Getsuga.

When the smoke cleared, Charlotte Linlin plummeted from the sky, her torso bisected by a gaping, centipede-like wound. Blood rained down as the "Invincible" Empress fell, her body smashing into the sea with a massive splash.

One stroke. That was all it took to fell a Yonko.

## The Golden Lion's Roar

Shiki stared, momentarily stunned by the raw efficiency of the takedown. But hesitation was a luxury he couldn't afford. His right hand swept downward, and a rainbow-hued slash wave a thousand meters long split the ocean in two.

"Slashing Wave!"

Beside him, Whitebeard had already wound up. The air around Murakumogiri compressed into a sphere of pure destruction—a tremor fruit attack condensed to the size of a cannonball before being unleashed as a shockwave that warped the horizon.

"Slash to the left," Shiki's cutting force sheared through the air.

"Shock to the right," Whitebeard's quake distorted the sea.

Trapped between them, a Vice Admiral would have been obliterated instantly. Rosen, however, stood his ground, the horned mask hiding what Rosen knew was a bored expression.

He swung Tensa Zangetsu. A spiraling jet-black crescent—another Getsuga Tenshō—shot forward, colliding head-on with Shiki's slash.

Simultaneously, Rosen's Armament Haki flared. Not just hardening, but emission. Violet light burst from his skin, coalescing around him into a towering, skeletal avatar hundreds of meters tall. A Susanoo, fully manifested, its head in the clouds and feet crushing the waves.

The Susanoo's spectral fist cocked back, Haki lightning crackling along its knuckles.

"Susanoo: Evening Elephant."

The massive fist hammered down, meeting Whitebeard's shockwave head-on. The collision was apocalyptic. Whitebeard's quake shattered like glass under the elephant's stomp, the force continuing onward, dragging a tsunami of air toward the old pirate.

Whitebeard gritted his teeth, planting his feet. He couldn't dodge. He had to take it.

Just as the attack was about to connect, the air twisted. A dark, swirling void opened directly in the Susanoo's path.

Garganta.

A massive, hairy fist reached out from the dimension and caught the Evening Elephant.

The force was so great the arm bulged, veins popping, but it held. Slowly, the fist crushed the attack into nothingness, leaving only static in the air.

Emerging from the darkness, a giant of a man stepped onto the waves, his monocle gleaming. Behind him, three figures materialized—Admirals Kizaru, Ryokugyu, and Fujitora.

"Enough," boomed Fleet Admiral Sengoku, his voice echoing over the devastated waters. "This ends now."

Rosen de-materialized the Susanoo, the horned mask receding into his skin. He hovered above the sea, looking down at Sengoku and the new arrivals with a cool, calculating gaze.

"You're late, Fleet Admiral," Rosen said, his voice smooth and chilling. "I was just getting started."

Sengoku's expression was grim as he surveyed the battlefield—the wreckage of Big Mom's ship, the unconscious form of Kaido drifting in the debris, and Whitebeard and Shiki, battered but defiant.

"The World Government has sent an ultimatum," Sengoku said. "If you continue this crusade, they will revoke the Marines' autonomy. They will send the Seraphim."

"Let them," Rosen replied, sheathing Tensa Zangetsu. "The Marines answer to justice, not to Celestial Dragons. I will break the chains binding this institution, Sengoku. And I will start by erasing the remnants of the Pirate Era."

He looked past the Fleet Admiral to the waiting Admirals.

"Try and stop me."#
